Amazing moment with my daughter. Fresh pasta (I guess). The pizza was quite small but tasty so the most important for me.
This is by far the best gluten free chicken parmigiana I have ever had. Every time I am in town I go here now.
Lovely restaurant, very crowded on an early Saturday evening. Service was very good, server was pleasant, professional and welcoming, but not overly friendly in an annoying way. Food was very tasty, freshly prepared so it didn't come out too quickly. Although the place was packed and more people kept coming in, they did not rush us in the slightest. Would definitely go back again
I recall eating at this restaurant in the past, I do not know if it always had indifferent service. Our waitress lacked personality altogether. She took the drink order after we had been sitting at the table for a good 10 minutes. After the drinks arrived she totally disappeared, we had to call on the manager to take our food order, The food was uneventful.
Perfect date night spot in a non-crowded area. Food was superb. My partner and I were going to a show at the Beacon and--I cannot emphasize this enough--the pre-show ambiance and walk were ideal. (Going to a show afterward is a nice, optional bonus; Pappardella is an excellent evening in and of itself.)
We had just come from my father’s funeral. We had made two separate reservations for 7 under two different names, online, and on the 2nd one we asked to combine them, for a party of 14. As I walked in, they welcomed us warmly and led us to a table that was already setup for 14. We had 15, so they were prepared for that possibility and added another table easily. With such a big group, this could’ve been chaos, but they were so lovely and excellent. The service was a little bit slow at first, but we were also an enormous group, arriving right at 1:30, when we were supposed to arrive at 2pm (per our reservation). Once we got our drinks, the food came out relatively quickly, which was fantastic. I couldn’t believe that they were able to time 14 plates to come out all at the same time. Impressive! I would highly recommend this spot. It was just the right vibe for our group.
Great Italian. Extensive menu. The meals are well made and some of them have a nice twist. For example: sweet & spicy sausage, sweet green peas, sage & vodka sauce - it was very good.
As usual, restaurant was very loud and they supplement this with music! Why? It was not crowded but service was very slow. I used to enjoy this restaurant but the noise and service are a problem. Pasta dish was not hot but it took so long to get it that we did not send it back. Quite disappointing.
Dreary lighting, decent food, friendly service, reliable choices
Rapide , bon service , plats savoureux et cadre italien chaleureux .
My husband was not wowed by this place, but he admits the food was very good. It wasn’t that the food was crazy different, but to me it was fresh, and authentic. Very much reminded me of Rome. I had the pasta with sausage - and garlic. He had cheese ravioli. While I probably could have made my dish at home, it would have taken much effort. The wine was very nice. Cheese plate appetizer and ceasar salad also great. Tiramisu was a generous slice and had chocolate chips to add a surprising crunch. Service was good. It was crowded on a Monday night and loud. It a very nice Italian restaurant. Nothing over the top, but certainly way better than Carmines.
My parents were visiting g and we absolutely loved everything about this place! So glad I live right down the street, I think this will become my new favourite spot. Would highly recommend, not just for the food but also the staff.
Excellent food and great service. Our server Mark took great care of us. Definitely on my list of favorites.
Neighborhood gem! They are always accommodating, this time even successfully accommodating the whims of a picky tween! Lovely ambiance, too.
Other than we felt we were a bit rushed — we got our meals at Bout the same time as our cocktails, it was lovely.
Food was outstanding and reasonable. We were seated promptly and service was excellent. Will definitely come back next time we’re in the area
All tables around us got their food before us, despite the fact that we were seated and ordered before them. Once my food came out, it was lukewarm. Plus, the dish lacked seasoning and flavor. Overall, I wasn’t satisfied with this restaurant.
Food was absolutely delicious! We picked it to have dinner prior to a concert at The Beacon. Fruit Del Mar has us sopping up every last drop of the delicious sauce and the Pollo Milanese did not disappoint. Arrive wonderful! 10/10 would recommend.
Another great dinner at Papparadella! The perfect spot before going to see Steely Dan at the Beacon! The mushroom pasta is delicious! The place has a good energy.
We were looking for a restaurant near the Beacon Theatre a few years ago and stumbled upon Pappardella. Went back last night, still a great place! Shared an appetizer of eggplant parmigiana that delicious. The pasta special was squid ink pasta with grilled calamari and fresh tomatoes. Loved it. Husband had Pappardella with sweet and spicy sausage in vodka sauce-what a great combo! Excellent service, good wine and all reasonably priced. Will definitely visit again!
Great gluten free offerings. My daughter was so excited when we found this restaurant a couple of years ago and we make a point of visiting every time we are in NYC.
Pretty Italian restaurant right next to the AMNH. Friendly and accommodating service and scenic atmosphere.
Food was delicious and exactly as described, but the service was horrible. We had three people taking care of us, but somehow no one checked on us until we were almost finished with our food. My dad ordered coffee before our food and we had to ask a second person to bring it because our waitress forgot. Then later, my husband asked for ketchup and our waitress forgot again so his potatoes were cold by the time we were able to ask another person. There was plenty of staff around, just no one actually checking in on us.
We enjoyed our dinners. We meet these friends several times a year and decided this was a good place to meet and we would do it again next time.
We love Pappardella for its outside dining. Food always very good , service excellent and friendly. It’s one of our go to restaurants
The food was great but the service was poor. The waitress was never available.
Food was fair but not good enough to be a 'destination' restaurant. A good, local neighborhood restaurant. Service was pleasant and attentive enough.
Fantastic food and a great place to catch up with friends. Little external or internal noise makes it easy to actually converse. No music allows you to focus on your company. Just wonderful! Service was a bit inconsistent, but fine.
Unbelievable gluten free menu! GF breaded chicken parmigiana! Wow!
Our second time here
I saw two cockroaches on the floor in the middle of the restaurant and one crawling down the wall. The food was just okay. The service was very slow.
Fresh pasta was so delicious! Service was fine and it was loud, but I would definitely return to this neighborhood gem!
The food was very good. However, the service was seriously lacking. We asked the server about the size of the caesar salads and she showed us with her hands that it was pretty small so we ordered two of them as well as two pasta entrees. After waiting, our entrees were brought out but not our salads. The runner who brought the entrees went and got our server and she told us we never ordered any salads. After I reminded her of what we had said, she said she now remembered. The runner offered to take our pastas plates back and "keep them heated" if we wanted the salads. Sorry, but no, I do not want reheated pasta. The server never offered to make things right, just ignored the issue. We never saw her again until we flagged her down for the check. This could have been easily resolved by the servers. The pasta however as very good which is why I upgraded my review.
Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, and amazing service! This place has it all and then some. I absolutely recommend for anyone from the area or touring!
Outstanding meal and service
So appreciate the gluten free menu. Food was delicious. Wine was wonderful. Cost was $$$.
The food was just OK, nothing special. Service was uninspired. No anticipation of needs or any discussion of menu items
Not really. I ordered branzino (fish) and the waiter did not fore worn me that there would be bones. I was not happy. They only offered me a dessert which I declined because we do not eat dessert. My wife's meal was good, my mine fair.
Nice neighborhood Italian.
This is a perfect, classic neighborhood Italian restaurant in feel and taste. Had to have the garlic bread just to taste the wonderful marinara dipping sauce. The heirloom tomato and burrata special was beautiful in presentation and delicious. The homemade gnocchi with pesto was melt-in -your-mouth perfect. All the sauces were complex without being heavy or overbearing. Good wine list without going off the rails. The staff were friendly and attentive, considering how bustling and busy the place was. We felt welcomed with no one hustling us out the door before we were ready to go. If we lived here, it would be a weekly habit!
