   Great wee spot, really good atmosphere and the staff were great. Menu was a little on the short side but we ate there twice and both meals were lovely.

   Was in Edinburgh on holiday with my other half and booked here as it was only a half hour journey from my digs. Upon entering you are greeted with a lovely looking pub atmosphere and guided to table efficiently. A jug of water was put down on table I thought this was a nice touch having just walked half an hour to get to papillon and our drinks were ordered and shortly after that the food. The food was lovely and good portion sizes the mushroom sauce I had with my chicken and linguine was amazing I highly recommend. The price value for what we ordered was great not much spent that night. The only reasons I didn’t give this place 5 stars was 1 the menu was too basic not a lot of choice and 2 there was quite a lot of drinks off however I would never let this deter me from coming back!!

   Lovely bar and family friendly, food was mediocre, had the buttermilk chicken burger, needed more seasoning and none provided on tables. Good coffee but don’t cater for non diary alternatives which is a shame as a good coffee menu is available, we were surprised they don’t offer, almond milk, skinny milk etc. Not too busy with the rugby and nicely set up to watch sports. Service was a little slow and although whisky options, not listed ok the menu and wait staff not aware what was available. Nice place though and would go back

   5 of us went for an early dinner - using a ITISON voucher for 2 courses for 4 people plus a cocktail each for part payment - and very much enjoyed. Craig helpfully phoned at lunchtime to warn us there was a group of 30 people booked in for the same time as us and maybe we would want to arrive half an hour earlier or later, we chose the latter which worked out very well as we had no waiting time to order when we arrived and received very good service. The food was pretty eclectic and enjoyable, atmosphere was informal and relaxed, a good evening and good value overall

   We were staying in Leith for a week's holiday and found Papillon whilst walking around the neighbourhood. We decided to book a table for our last night and are so pleased that we did. We were a group of five, three of whom were children aged 9, 12 and 12. From the moment we stepped in the staff were fantastic and immediately showed us to our table. Drinks orders were taken and arrived quickly. Advice about portion sizes and what was good to eat was happily given by our server (unfortunately I cannot remember her name but she was absolutely lovely). I couldn't find an Espresso Martini on the extensive cocktail list but she went off and asked the bar who made one for me and it was one of the best I've had! Also, major bonus the homemade mayonnaise was incredible. The food was delicious, we were made to feel really welcome and would highly recommend anybody to book in for a meal or just enjoy the atmosphere over a pint.

   Really nice atmosphere, very friendly staff, the new menu doesn’t have loads of choice but I had the pork ribs and they were so so tasty and the portion (1/2 rack) wasn’t too massive. The cocktails are lovely too.

   Four of us had a mid-week dinner there, great draught beer and good food and wine. We had been there before and previously found it a little noisy, this time the music level was just right. We really enjoyed the evening and we will return.
