   The experience and service were great, except that the original seating was at a table in the back even though the place was not full and we had reservations for weeks. Disappointing, but I asked to be moved and they ultimately did accommodate. The waitress was excellent and the coffee really good.

   The hostess acted like it was her first day, they didn’t seem like they had a handle on their reservations. We got there 5 minutes before our reservation. “Oh, your early, sit over there and I will text you”. Will not go back.

   Always a basic experience at papa kona. Nothing special. It is way over priced but a beautiful location. We ordered a $30 shrimp pasta but with asparagus instead of shrimp. We didn’t mind paying full price and just substituting but then the meal came without spinach which was advertised in the menu. At that point because we didn’t get the more expensive shrimp & the spinach it claims to come with we asked to be discounted the shrimp. The server was so annoyed despite us asking kindly & knowing he isn’t the chef. They took of $2.90. It was fine. We left a 20% tip but again just a very basic average nothing special experience.

    We loved Papa Kona. Food was great, and with a one-day notice, they gave us a great table outside for 8! Service was also spectacular, servers were kind and down-to-earth. Catered to every need. Very pleased with our experience!

    Excellent time on Mothers Day. Unicorn breakfast sandwich is the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had! Hawaiian Punch mimosa was great. View is stunning. Waitress was friendly and on top of it.

    Had reservations. Seated immediately. Waited a good while, maybe ten minutes. As she was passing by, I asked the hostess if we had a server. She said yes. Hostess brought water. Still waiting. Finally, server came to our table. I will say, was very sweet. I think her name was Erin? Food was not exceptional, but tasty. And the piece de resistance……almost $13 and hour to park!

    Go here for brunch. Get the island style French toast. It was amazing!!!! Beyond amazing. I also like that they hire neurodivergent people!!

    Nice venue on the water and live music was fun. Menu is a bit limited and overpriced, but that is Kona. We ended up with two different burgers and fries which were good but middling for high end burgers. Server was very nice, but busy and left us hanging on water a bit. Did not buy drinks or anything else. The two burgers with tip were almost $50.

    This place is not easily seen from the street, but it is the best restaurant we tried on the island. They have an excellent view; it's right on the water. Everything is lit nicely at night. The food is excellent, and the service is even better. They even had live music, which was a nice added touch. Prices are relatively high but typical for Hawaii - though not as bad as some places.

    Spectacular sunset, spectacular food, spectacular service! Not a bad table in the house. The vegan poke was beyond our expectations, guava bbq sauce on the Beyond burger was amazing, and the Ono with Beurre Blanc sauce was to die for. Our server Chelsea had several tables to include a large party of at least 12 and she hustled to provide excellent service to us all. I didn’t catch the manager’s name, but she also checked on us as well. Fabulous experience and we will definitely be back.

    We arrived at our scheduled reservation time. 5:45. No line. Not many people yet. We observed 3 employees chatting. Two looked at us. Did not acknowledge us. 3 min later, a woman that was one of the 3, with a partially shaved head and tattoos, mid length skirt, picked up menus, and said nothing. Instinctively, we followed her to get seated. Waiter was great. Attentive. No complaints there. The same woman who sat us, was walking around asking patrons how our dinner was. Maybe she’s the manager. That’s scary. The food was mediocre. Too much greens, not enough chicken. The pineapple burger was small and not too tasty. Greet your patrons promptly and smile. Don’t forget why you’re there. Customer service has fallen off the cliff these days. That’s it. Won’t be back.

    The view as always was lovely...the weather was quite breezy but overall it was very pleasant. Our server was pleasant and efficient. We have been toe Papa Kona's on many occasions and it has always been very enjoyable.

    We come to Papa Kona for the crab cake eggs Benedict on a croissant.it’s always wonderful but it wasn’t on the menu . I was disappointed. Also the high top tables by the water were replaced with regular tables and low chairs unfortunately being shorter all I could see was the railing which needed paint and not the beautiful view!

    Our waitress was extremely attentive, kind, and helpful. She was 10/10! The music was great and the patio had a nice view. Our salad was good but not as great of a value as I was hoping for. Surf and turf was good, but not great. The shrimp were fantastic, but the steak was mediocre. Needed a better sear on the outside. Overall our experience was acceptable and we had a good time.

    We were looking for a late lunch spot in Kona near the Hulihe’e Palace, and this was at the top of OpenTable’s list. Our server Lauren was very attentive, and made great suggestions for places to go on the west coast of the island. We had the Loco Moco and the Poke bowl, both of which were excellent. The sea view can’t be beat. I imagine this place is busier on cruise ship days, but we were there late on a Friday and it wasn’t crowded. Great choice!

    Nice ocean side table, beautiful sunset, food was terrific with a nice glass of New Zealand Blanc. The. Strawberry grilled shrimp salad and macadamia crusted mahi mahi was tasty. Chelsey was our wait staff with great knowledge of the menu choices.
