We called to move our reservation back to 9pm, we spoke to a man with an Italian accent. He said he changed it no problem. When 7pm came i got an email saying we missed the reservation but thought nothing of it because we called the restaurant directly. When we arrived before 9pm, the hostess said we missed our 7pm reservation. When we explained what happened she said, oh that’s the owner, Luca, he does that a lot... it happened 4 times in the past couple days! She said they didn’t have any tables and to have a seat at the bar. There were other couples where the same thing happened. We got seated at 9:20, at a table in the very back when other tables were open throughout the restaurant. The service was fast but pushy and didn’t offer relevant information when choosing a wine so we chose not to drink. The dessert was skimpy because it looks like they ran out of a lot of the tiramisu ingredients. Overall 3 stars
Had an amazing dinner with my boyfriend at Panorama for Restaurant Week on Saturday night. We were seated at a cozy corner table so we could sit kind of next to each other instead of across the table and had such a nice time just talking and having fun trying all different kinds of wine! We could not believe the wine list which is suuuuper extensive as you could imagine - there's something for everyone! We opted to share the cab flight and it was fantastic for $29. Can't beat that and so much more fun than just getting a couple glasses.
I really love the ambiance of Panorama with the dim lights and candle lit tables, it really adds a nice, romantic feel! As for the food, everything was great and such a steal for $35 for restaurant week! We started with the pasta with octopus (can't remember the exact name) and the burrata tortellini as the first course. Both were stellar but small portions but I didn't mind that at all. For our main course, we both opted for the N.Y. Strip Steak which was cooked to perfection. I do not consider myself a steak person, but was told I couldn't miss out on this which turned out to be the case! For dessert, we ended with a chocolate ganache cake (substitute for the cannoli on the menu that night) and the tiramisu. I am a sucker for tiramisu and this one was very good, but different as it was more like an espresso cake topped with coffee ice cream and whipped cream.
We will be back to Panorama for sure!
My best friend and I enjoyed our meal very much! We were impressed with the restaurant week menu. Plus I got a wine flight that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Excellent food and service.
The first time we visited years ago we loved it. Unfortunately it seems to have gone down hill. Our service was very slow, had to send back the calamari and time between finishing app and entree delivery was over 45 minutes.
The only good thing about Panorama is the wine selection and cheese. My entree was cold, my appetizer had no seasoning and the cannoli was subpar. So many more delicious, cheaper options in the city
This was my second time dining at Panorama and I was pleased. The servers and hostess were friendly and accommodating. The food was outstanding. Panorama has some of the best Italian food in Philadelphia.
My friend and I visited Panorama for lunch during restaurant week. Our 3 course lunch was excellent, good service and quiet enough to have a nice conversation.
My friend and I went for Restaurant Week and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The restaurant is really nice inside, and while it was full, the volume wasn’t overbearing. The complimentary focaccia and pesto was lovely! My friend had the shrimp appetizer, the fish of the day (salmon), and the olive oil cake dessert. I had the gnocchi with pesto, N.Y. Strip, and tiramisu. All of the food was amazing! Cooked to perfection, plated beautifully, and served promptly. We each also ordered a wine flight because it’s such a unique offering and presentation! I had the mixed wine #602, which was great! My friend got the Cabernet Sauvignon flight, which she also enjoyed. Overall, we truly enjoyed our experience here and my friend already recommended the restaurant to her sister to go ASAP. Very nice for a girl’s night out, romantic dinner, or special occasion.
Came here for restaurant on a Tuesday. The options for the courses were plentiful. Got a flight and a few glasses of wine to accompany dinner based off the wonderful sommelier's recommendations. My only remark was that the food was bland, which was extremely surprising. Though the wine went extremely well with the meal, it was hard to get past the salt factor, or lack there of. 9/10 only because of that. Would still come back, but more of a pre/after dinner destination with no desire for snacks.
We go for Restaurant Week lunch often. Great wine list. The entrees here are around $20 so restaurant week ($20 for 3 courses) is a bargain and we take advantage of it. The food is superb and the waitstaff great! If you are into wine this is also the place to go. Very classy but not pretension.
This is definitely a hidden gem!!! Nestled inside a boutique hotel this restaurant is cute and quaint. We tried it for restaurant week and I’m so glad we did. Definitely a go back!!!! The food was DELISH and the service was outstanding. A new fave for me!!!
We always have a great dinner at Panorama. The food is inventive and delicious and the service is outstanding without being obtrusive. Definitely one of the best Italian restaurants in the city.
Great Restaurant. We love to go there. We liked it so much Restaurant that Rosemarie is there right now with 4 friends.
Very good service and food
The service was very attentive . The food was delicious.
Used to dine here with some regularity. Having been away for years, returned to celebrate my wife’s birthday. I was wholeheartedly disappointed to find . . .the decor was drastically altered from a cozy, romantic setting to a more hip, rustic look; the chef changed some 3 years ago and made immediate changes to the menu - including the elimination of the gnocchi trio; the service was very mixed - from being ignored to boarder-line attentiveness. Overall, a an experience to be forgotten - along with the Panorama as a future dining destination.
the best dining experience, fabulous cuisine, extraordinary wine selection, professional friendly staff.
New Year's Eve is a challenge for any restaurant but Panorama pulled it off elegantly! Our dinner came in a timely fashion and provoked a lot of yumm's at the table. They specialize in Italian and my Braciole was exceptional. I look forward to a return visit.
Went there for NYE dinner. Food was good, room is like being in a banquet hall with tables close together. Not much in terms of ambiance at least where we sat. Would recommend for dinner but there are other nice options for NYE.
Panorama always is a delight. The food and wine are exquisite, the service we receive is impeccable and the ambiance (especially around the holidays!) is just right.
Plus, you can’t beat their 1/2 off apps and $5 off flights of wine during Happy Hour!
Our dinner selection last night: Killer B’s flight, Wines of a Certain Age flight, eggplant, Caesar salad, mushrooms, gnocchi, cavatelli and tortellini. Mmmmm so delish!
It was the first time that the 8 of us ate in this absolutely “phenomenal” restaurant. The service and food quality was simply over the top. Can’t wait to return to this wonderful gem of a restaurant !!!
One of my favorite restaurants. The mushroom appetizer was simple but outstanding. The lobster crespelle presentation looked average but the taste was superb ... delicate and flavorful. The tiramisu was great! Even the cup of decaf coffee was perfect.
The King room at the Penn's View Inn was perfect too. A lovely evening!
Never a disappointment every thing is always top notch from the drinks to the dessert.
Loved the wine flights, the service was professional but not intrusive, the food delectable, presented beautifully and just the right portion.
Reliable, with well-prepared food and service. Environment can be a bit noisy (but that's the fault of fellow diners who feel the need to raise their voices to unsocial levels). It is particularly pleasing that the restaurant is open on Mondays (several in the neighborhood aren't).
We arrived early, after a visit to the Cherry St pier was a bust. Our reservation was at 5:30 pm so we settled in at a bar hightop around 4:45 The bartender immediately greeted us and after some cocktails we decided to not take our table but instead stayed for dinner in the bar We enjoyed our Server so much .... we stayed at the bar after we learned she would not be our server at the table.
The rest of the evening was perfect. I had the lamb which was amazing and our guests likewise enjoyed their meals.
Every dish was terrific. My gnocchi was the best that I have ever had; the pesto was perfectly balanced, the dish was pleasantly rich. The "Milano Mule" cocktail was a perfect accompaniment to its richness. My husband's octopus was excellent, tender and expertly prepared. He greatly enjoyed his Osso Buco, a favorite dish of his. My lamb medallions were excellent and prepared exactly as I requested - medium rare. The tiramisu was delicious. The server was knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations. His service was attentive without hovering.
We frequent Panorama often and it never disappoints
Never have a bad time when we go here. Can't go wrong with the wine flights either.
We enjoyed our pre-Army/Navy game dinner very much. Food was delicious and our server timely and helpful. We had tasted some of the wine flights and appetizers the evening before with a similarly good result. I would recommend Panorama
We had not been to Panorama for some time and it did not disappoint. Still has the amazing wine list and outstanding service; truly notable in both respects. The food was very good, although all of us at the table ordered the daily fish so it's hard to gauge how that evening's meat or chicken dishes may have been. Everything was served exactly as ordered. Desserts were also good including ice cream from a creamery directly across the street. The restaurant is reasonably large, nicely decoratd and good both for a business meal or a date night, although it is a bit expensive (a glass of wine averages about $15 for the regular stuff) for the latter.
Great for special occasions because the food is special
This is our second time back, and for good reason. The food is always amazing. And the hospitality and service is always stellar. And the wine selection... the Best!
We stayed the night there at the Penn’s View. Our favorite spot in the city.
We were in town and loved your menu online. Expectations were more than met with a wonderful loin of veal in a light red wine sauce. Great wine list. What’s not to like. Highly recommend
It was terrific!
Very good food. Some of the best apps and desert I’ve ever had but the pasta could be a bit better. High recommend going here though! I will go again sometime and give some more dishes a try.
Second time at Panorama. First time was for a private party. This time around I brought my boyfriend's family. Reservation was for 7:00 pm. The hostess greeted us in a very odd manner when we informed her of our reservation. My thinking is that they had likely not planned for it, despite me calling to confirm earlier that day. It took 20 minutes to be seated and another 25 for our server to get us drinks (just wine). There were no accommodations made to apologize for the various waits. I wanted to love this place, but unfortunately the service made it difficult.
From the first time I dined at Panorama through last Saturday night the service, food, ambiance and presentation is OUTSTANDING!
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary on 11/11, we had the 5 course Chef's Tasting menu paired with the recommended wine selection. We were greeted with a complimentary glass of Prosecco in honor of the occasion. We dined in the bar area which is charming . The wine wall is impressive, with 120 available by the glass. Each course was elegantly presented and a feast for all senses. The aromas and the flavors were rich and complex. The skirt steak entrée with chestnuts and roasted potatoes was so tender it melted in your mouth. The pairing with wine flight #411 was spot on, I was concerned about Italian wines being too dry for my liking, but I enjoyed every one of the 5 selections. The service was friendly and attentive. We have been here a few other times and its always a very enjoyable dining experience!
