Panevino - Reading - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
Wonderful experience with a large party before a concert. All of our food was delicious and the service was absolutely outstanding. Everything was perfect! Will definitely come back here any time we are in Reading. It's a great place for a special occasion for sure.
We enjoyed the meal and the service was great. However when we opened our leftovers for the next day, we found that we had someone else's salad, while someone went home with about $25 worth of our leftover prime rib. I know the staff was very weary, but we really wanted to eat the prime rib on Monday. Not up to the normal Panevino quality we have always experienced.
It was about 95 degrees in there and nothing was done after several tables complained. I asked for medium well prime rib and ended up getting well done. We had great experiences there before but this time they failed on Mother's day. We will give them one more shot.
I'm from Bethlehem, but my boyfriend and I needed to make a trip to Reading for his job on a Friday evening. I was very pleased with Panevino! We didn't realize that an appetizer and dessert were included with the entree, which was a pleasant surprise, as the prices of the entrees were comparable to what we would pay for an entree in Allentown or Bethlehem. There was an upcharge for some appetizers, but with good reason - they are wonderful! We also chose to get an additional appetizer beyond what was included to share. It was hard to choose an entree because so many sounded delicious. My eggplant parmesan was extremely hot when it came out - my boyfriend finished his entree before it had cooled down enough for me to eat - but we were not in any hurry so it didn't bother me. The desserts were also exceptional and an appropriate serving size to eat after having 2 courses, so that we didn't leave feeling stuffed to the brim. Our waiter was very pleasant. It was surprisingly empty for a Friday night, especially because I enjoyed my meal there so much - I would expect it to be a popular place on a Friday night! Drinks were a little slow, but the food came quickly. We ended up having what felt like an extravagant meal for under $100 - which felt like a steal compared to what we are used to paying in the Lehigh Valley. I would certainly return if I'm back in Reading.
We chose this restaurant because of its proximity to the community college theater where we were going to attend a concert. Our service was extremely slow to the point where we had to have them wrap up half of our dinners. When we returned after the show, we enjoyed the dessert that was included in the meal, a scrumptious tiramisu, and we brought home the rest of our delicious dinners; so it worked out to be just fine. The food was really good and the hostess and server could not have been nicer. I hope they hire a second bartender for busy times and that they can speed things up in the kitchen when necessary.
We were in Reading for the Berkov Jazz Festival and looked for a restaurant near our hotel and found Panevino. We have one with the same name near our home that we love so we looked at the menu and gave it a try. Firstly the staff are just the nicest people ever. We were really early and they let us come in and sit at the bar with a drink while we waited for them to get ready for dinner service. The food was exceptional. We had 3 courses and just loved everything. This is a must if you are in Reading. We will be back!
Five good friends and I enjoyed a nice dinner last weekend. The restaurant was not very crowded. We had a quiet location for the group of six. The service was excellent and the food was quite good. The dinner special included an appetizer and dessert. They had a nice beer selection and wine list. Several of my friends had never eaten their before and expressed a desire to return in the future. I thought the food and drinks were reasonably priced. Overall, we had a nice time and I would certainly recommend the restaurant to my friends and clients.
We've been to Panevino and have liked it. This time, however, our waitress was very bad. She had no energy, seemed disinterested in serving us, forgot drinks a couple times, forgot the bread... Then she didn't ask us if we wanted dessert even though it was included. We did order dessert and it took a very long time to come out and when it did my ice cream was almost completely melted. It was actually funny that she served it... We had a disappointing experience.
It was Valentine's Day so they were extremely busy. They should have taken less reservations because it was very chaotic. Sat us without menus because "they didn't have enough". We had to ask for a menu three times. Reservation was for 7 didn't walk out until 9. Food was ok. My wife ate half her meal to save some to take home. Waitress threw it out. Didn't bring it up because it was obvious everyone was overwhelmed. Definitely won't return.
We arrived 10 minutes early for our reservation and we were seated right away. I would have preferred a table in the dining room but the bar area was fine. The 2 waitresses were very busy, so our dinner took the most of 2.5 hours. The meals were very good but the wait got uncomfortable. I would suggest some additional staff to assist in table clearing, food delivery, etc.
Well run establishment with a good menu of higher quality selections. The atmosphere is conducive to casual conversation. Prices seemed reasonable for the quality. Great place to go before or after visiting the IMAX across the street. There's rarely a crowd at either place.
