I made my reservation through open table couple of weeks ago, the email was returned back to me indicating that the restaurant no longer participates with open table. a few days later I received a text from the restaurant letting me know my reservation has been confirmed. I called the restaurant through out the week and no answer, the vm indicated they are on vacation until june 19th. Saturday evening of that same week we drove by the restaurant to find out it was shut down....
My husband and I went to dinner during Restaurant Week at this restaurant. We sat in their outdoor patio which was very pleasant, but no view. The service was prompt and personable.
The food was excellent and in generous portions. We will return soon.
A wonderful experience. Waiter was superb
Neighbors on both sides of our table were loud. Food was disappointing. Service was slow and disappointing. Our server basically stuck his nose in our bottle of wine two different times... between pours - I'll sniff my own wine... Thanks. We won't be back.
Chef Ramone is back and it was like it used to be “awesome’!!
We enjoy this neighborhood restaurant. The night we were there two tables of very noisy people drove us crazy-- couldn't hear each other talk across the table. Normally it is quiet and that is the way we like it.
Excellent food...superb service...a can do attitude ...we continue to return to this amazing restaurant. I simply love their ciopino "fish stew"
There were five of us in our party. Some of the meals were good and others were not enjoyed at all. Our server seemed to be in a foul mood, hoping for the restaurants sake that this was a one off.
Great experience! Service was awesome - food was awesome - we will be back!
I used to come here pretty frequently. If you wanted exceptional Italian, Pane e Vino was the place to go! I would put it up against many of the best Italian restaurants in the US. Then they had some issues with management leaving. The chef left and it went downhill from there. I heard the chef returned so a friend and I decided to go. I recommended she get the Fettuccini Alfredo as it used to be the best I had ever eaten. I went for the Eggplant Parm - another fabulous dish of the past. Both were horrible. The Alfredo sauce was thin and had too much nutmeg; the noodles stuck together. The eggplant had a thick crust and one piece wasn't fully cooked. We shared our concerns and the server generously removed the items from our bill. Then someone brought us a complimentary tiramisu. The staff went out of their way to take care of us. I just wish the food would return to the quality it was before. It's hard to understand how the same chef can cook so differently.
The service was outstanding!
Dining at Pane e Vino was one of the best experiences we have ever had. Our waiter was outstanding. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and food preparation and his timing was impeccable. At no time did we ever feel rushed and our courses were well spaced apart. The food was excellent. The portions were large and the preparation was spot on. At our table of four, we each had a different main meal and shared. Each meal had excellent flavor and you could tell the ingredients were fresh. If you are seeking an excellent Italian restaurant with an old world feel and top notch service, look no further than Pane e Vino.
Always our favorite go to restaurant. Delicious food and service !
always good specials service and food.
we are regulars and will continue to be.
Robert is a great server
Excellent neighborhood spot! Food always tastes fresh and the chef is accommodating to special needs and requests. Highly recommend.
Excellent dinner and it is nice to see the "old team" back in the kitchen and some of the dishes we have known and loved for so many years back on the menu in their "original" incarnations. Service, as usual, was delightfully provided by Robert and Jill (the owner) ever present and welcoming. The Carbonnara is to me the best I have ever had in the US, and a regular favorite of ours, and the veal and Risottos are exceptional too.
Great restaurant for a date, convivial conversation, attentive service and good food - one of our favorites
Always phenomenal! Great service and food!
The food was excellent with a lot of options to chose from. Everything was good but out of our 4 dinners the Bolognese was the standout! Shana was our waitress and she was outstanding. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a casual evening of dining.
Great food like always. Wonderful service too. We will be back.
Excellent as always,
The capresé salad really missed the mark. One small basil leaf, minimal olive oil, no balsamic. I had to ask for those things to make it like a capresé salad as I know it. Veal picante was very tasty. The veal was a little chewy. Waitress was very attentive.
Excellent food and very good service.
Food is always great here and the service is the best anywhere
The service was excellent. The food was very good. We had an early dinner (6 pm) and the restaurant was about a quarter full when we came in. As it filled up over time the noise level increased.
Fabulous meal! Eggplant Parmesan wonderful and gnocchi are as good as find in Little Italy in NY.
Very accommodating to a schedule change. Service at bar and table were both excellent. Food was good with excellent portion size. Tiramisu was the best. An enjoyable dinner.
awesome food and service we visit at least 2x per month
A little pricy and noisy but food/service good
Had not been to the restaurant before so didn’t know what to expect and I was not overly impressed. Pasta was fine, red sauce was quite good. Bread was stale and dry. Side dishes were disappointing. Not sure I would go back again.
Pane e Vino remains a genuine asset to Scottsdale's restaurant offerings. The overall menu, general atmosphere, and professional service (especially that of waiter, Steven) are excellent.
Excellent food and service. Can't wait to go back!
Dinner was delicious and Steve was an awesome waiter, jovial & friendly. Restaurant was loud, as we heard in other reviews. Table next to us was incredibly loud which was our only downfall of the evening. Overall great experience and would definitely go back! Thanks Steve!!
Great food great service.
Visitig a friend in Scottsdale, hope I get invited again so I can come back to your restaurant
this experience is always awesome and our server Robert is great!!
It was nice to have Robert again.
Started with a bowl of pasta fagioli. Generous portion, piping hot. Absolutely fantastic. For an appetizer had the prosciutto and melon. Both were fresh and excellent but the portion size was tiny and not worth the price. The entree was the capellini pomodoro. Average portion size and very flavorful.
Service was less than average. The place was not very busy, but I waited for drinks and the check and the the server was a bit inattentive. For the most part, the bus servers ran the food. Would go back but only if the service improved as Nick’s has comparable food and much better service at more reasonable prices.
We have gone here many times, now usually early spring for spring training. I also went there when I lived in Scottsdale. Always good food, service, and environment.
I was disappointed this time when we went with friends who we see only once a year and had hoped to have a nice conversation with them over dinner.
Not this time! They have made the dining area much smaller. Tables close together. Wooden flooring, which attractive, absorbed no sound. Restaurant was nearly full--Full of loud groups who had obviously been there for a LONG time. Could hardly hear the person next to me.
The waiter, who had been there for a long time, tried to be helpful. I was sad to hear from him that he was retiring.
If we go there again--and would like to--we will ask to be seated on the small outside area if there is such a boisterous group again, and if they don't remedy the sound problem.
Such a nice place. I wish them well.
Everything was absolutely wonderful. Food and service were incredible!
Very loud table two away from us. Rude behavior. Made the evening unpleasant
