Pamplona was a great spot to eat with their 35$ unlimited small plates deal & a half off pitcher of Sangria on sundays! The food was good, but not the best Spanish Tapas I have had in the area, and I was not a fan of the croquetas. The tortilla and gambas were my favorite! Would definitely be back and think it would be a great brunch spot.
We loved our experience at Pamplona. I was taking my partner out to dinner to celebrate their birthday. I had also made a request (over the phone) for a tiny birthday celebration. It was perfectly handled. We were taken care off by Sarah, who was an excellent host. She was brilliant and extremely polite.
The food was exquisite: in particular, the Spanish Tortilla was amazing. We loved the bread pudding as well.
We would love to come back to this place in the near future.
Excellent food and service. From the moment you enter until you leave the staff is very attentive while giving you space and time to enjoy the succulent food.
It was restaurant week but they didn’t try to push one way or another. The waiter made sure we knew all of the options and then let us mostly decide. Everything was very tasty and he made recommendations for next time!
Fast service and good food will be back.
Went and tried this restaurant for the first time for restaurant week. We are so glad we did the value is great. The restaurant is right next to the Clarendon metro slightly hidden but what a hidden gem ! Service was quick my husband had the lamb and I had the steak both were cooked well. We will be back to try their brunch !
Excellent dining experience. From walking in the door and being greeted, seated, and drink order taken, was maybe five minutes. Meal come out promptly and was delicious. I recommend the Taste of Spain- $35 all you can eat small plates option. We left full and satisfied. Our server was very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Pamplona to all.
Had an excellent brunch their bottomless all you can eat deal is outstanding. The server informed us about their upcoming restaurant week already made a res for Tuesday (half price wine night)
Loud. Very loud, worth the effort. Our waiter expected us to order in the first 7 seconds. There seemed an ongoing collision between the pace he thought we should be ordering/eating and our intention of having dinner out and not experiencing, essentially, a drive through. The food varied in preparations and size. Some were well sized, others microscopic. Worth the try. Hoping to go back and maybe try brunch.
We have been to Pamplona many times, this is an updated review. Pamplona continues to deliver as a great spot in Clarendon both to dine and drink. A creative cocktail menu, well priced wine list, and excellent food and service. In past trips we've taken advantage of the all-you-can-eat "taste of spain" which is great value, but as this was a mid-week meal we wanted something lighter, ordering 5 tapas and finding ourselves well satisfied. Of note, the Pulpo (octopus) was perfectly cooked, which speaks well to the talents of the kitchen. If octopus isn't your thing, we also enjoyed the albondigas (meatballs), gambas (shrimp), patatas bravas (a staple) and charred brussels. Definitely a spot worth (re)visiting!
The food was ok but quite overpriced (even for DC). The portions were quite small and the steak was not prepared properly.
Best brunch you can get in the area. They have an incredible weekend brunch deal that you just can’t beat. Every single item was absolutely delicious. Will be back again and again!
After reading a lot of the reviews, we decided to try this place. Unfortunately it was disappointing and that the drinks were tiny and pricey. Food was just OK nothing like
Nothing nothing special here. Do not plan to go back.
Excellent food. For four people, we ordered 8 assorted small plates to share and one large order of paella. We took about 1/3 to 1/2 of the paella home. The paella is outstanding.
Not the best tapas I've had in DC, but pretty good if you don't want go all the way into the city. The octopus was fantastic, and the croquettes were just ok. Very nice service and drink selection though.
Wonderful food and service. Plan to go back
This brunch is amazing!! The staff hustles making sure everyone is happy. The food is delish! A foodie spot for sure :) We will come back!
Overall a great experience their brunch was busy but service was still prompt and the food came out quick. Will be back to try their dinner !
Brought a large group and we were handled efficiently. Very friendly service and delicious food! Will be back :)
Much like other reviewers, 1/2 our table’s order came out and the other half never did and we had to ask about it. So 2 people were done eating before the other 2 ever got food.
I’ve passed by this restaurant numerous times and finally had a chance to go with friends. Would go again.
We got the taste of Spain all you can eat small plates for $35. We probably 'broke even' on it but what was nice was it gave us the freedom to try different dishes than we might have otherwise. Most items I would order again including the cheese croquetas, kale salad, truffle mac and cheese, and brussel sprouts. Quite a few of the items weren’t what you would consider traditional Spanish tapas but everything was tasty.
Service was great.
Atmosphere was lacking only because it was a frigid, incredibly windy night and the cold air gusted through the front door every time someone open it. We moved tables and it was probably a 10 degree difference at a different table just 3 feet away but was still rather chilly inside.
What a delightful experience. Floor manager Chris had his game on. Knowledgeable, welcoming, attentive without hovering. All good
so happy we tried this place! I wasn't in the mood for Spanish tapas but their menu offered a little but of everything from burgers, steak and ribs to traditional Spanish fare. the cocktails were good and service was prompt will be back again.
Service wasn't great. We didn't get some of the items we ordered and had to ask that they be removed from the check. The restaurant wasn't even crowded so not sure why the service was lagging. Brussel sprouts were amazing. I was not impressed by any of the other tapas we tried. Overall I felt this place was overpriced for the service, food, and wine. I much prefer Barcelona or Jaleo for tapas.
Large group of 13 people. Staff was prompt and the food came out effortlessly on time. Perfect!
The food was absolutely fantastic. My wife and I both got the "Taste of Spain." We sampled through a large number of the small plates and were not disappointed by a single one. The Toffee Cake with salted caramel ice cream was one of the best we've ever had.
Enjoyed the half price bottle of wine deal. Service and food was good but not mind blowing. Very small plates and still pretty expensive.
My friends and I were here for Sunday brunch. The food and drinks were superb! Service was slow and we had to check on our food with our server several times. Drink refills took a while, too, and we had to request them multiple times. The restaurant wasn't too crowded (although there were several large groups), so I was a bit disappointed with the speed and quality of service. It was really loud and we had to raise our voices to talk. But the food was just so good, and it was so nice to linger and order multiple dishes that it was worth it. We'll be back, but hopefully Pamplona will be more equipped to serve our table more quickly and without constantly forgetting to check for our food and drinks.
Service was outstanding and food was equal. Mary was engaging and informative in her presentation of menu and food and even remembered we were there for anniversary and brought dessert! A+ and highly recommend it.
Everything about the restaurant was great. Food, friendly service, reasonable price. I'm not a big sports fan so the TV noise was not something I enjoyed but it was tolerable. I would definitely recommend this place and would go back in a heartbeat!
Excellent experience and food!! The $35 variety offering is a great value!!! Will recommend this place to others as well.
This is one of my go to spots with friends. I like the taste of Spain, which allows you to select from a number of different options. I wish they had a little bit more variety and was more creative with the dishes. But that doesn't stop me from going. The sparkling rose is fantastic.
Wow, my husband and I were both impressed with the clientele, the decor, the vibe, but especially the food. Service was exceptional, too. I ordered the scallops and he had the steak frites. Excellent choices. Well done, Pamplon!
The ribs were the absolute best thing I’ve had in dc period. Unbelievable a must try. We will be coming back to try their all you can eat brunch.
An average and pricey tapas restaurant; however, the food was very good. The waiter had zero personality and at points bordered on rude. I know it must be a pain to keep going back and forth for more tapas. They offer a $35 special for unlimited tapas but everyone at the table must order it. It is a good deal, but adds up quickly.
Great place. Great food. Friday night and really busy and loud, but I had a great time. Really hard to find good parking spots nearby and public parking fills up really fast. The ding here is on Clarendon (Arlington). Streets are dark and signs are not well placed. You car is at risk of getting towed and fined if not careful where you park.
We tried the “taste of Spain” it was all you can eat small plates for $35 it was a great value and service was great. The new fall menu is very good !
Went for brunch with a big party. Food was great, as were drinks! Desserts were a little on the smaller side, but we had great service and they were accommodating!
