great place awesome food and very good service! A little twist on your average mexican food. we will certainly return as soon as we can
The food was good and the restaurant was elegant & clean. Waiters took care of us and made sure to answer all of our questions. A good place for business meals!
Loved Loved this Mexican restaurant! Went a random Tuesday around 9 pm, the service was impeccable, I had the guac appetizer and they brought me
veggies so that I used to dip instead of chips. For my
main meal I had the ceviche sampler, it was AMAZING! My favorite were the camaron, atun, & mero. I did not love the vuelve de la vida because I am not a fan of the red sauce. As for dessert, you CANNOT go wrong with the chocoflan TO DIE FOR!
Ate there before and enjoyed it so decide to try it again. The place was empty for a Sat. night. Service was fine.
Guacamole was decent and the De Almendras
salad was good but the entrees were really small portions.
Pollo an Tamarindo looked pretty had lovely plating but again not much too eat. The
Camarones Al Guajillo arrived cold to barely lukewarm and I sent it back to be remade or heated. Tasted bland & the shrimps really small. We were really disappointed.
Way overpriced for what we received.
Great food and great service! We enjoyed tequila flights, ceviche, guacamole, tuna tempura, and the most delicious filet mignon! The churros for dessert were so light and flaky! We will definitely go back again . Loved the music playlist too!😀
There was hair in my food and I didn’t want to cause a scene because it was a holiday, but I’m still grossed outc
Dined there many times, however this will definitely be my last! Poor food, nasty waitress, place was half empty. I wonder why?
Tried out this place for restaurant week & I’m so glad we did! Everything we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. Waitstaff was kinda slow at first, waited a while for them to come and take our order, but after our first dish came out all our other dishes came out quickly. For the portions you are served (looking at other tables dishes), this restaurant is pricey but I’d come back for a date night or another intimate occasion.
My friend and I came during restaurant week. We already knew what we wanted but we took our time. The appetizers were small BUT DELICIOUS. I ordered the ceviche and she ordered the crusted plaintains. For our entrees, I ordered the salmon and she ordered the free range chicken. Both meals were OUTSTANDING. The only complaint is that the food took so long to come. We had a 12:30pm reservations to which we were prompt for but we left almost at 2:00pm and that was not because we were taking our time but our entrees took almost 40 minutes. Both of us have flexibility with regard to our jobs but a little speedier in service would help. Would consider coming again to see if I get the same experience. Will keep you posted.
We live this place. They make great drinks and have lots of yummy dishes. We cannot wait o dine in again!
I've been going to Pampano for 10 years. Last night I ordered the Beef Filet. This was, hands down, the worst meal I have had in years. The steak tasted like it was spoiled beef, it was undercooked, and I left it on the plate. Business dinner so I couldn't address it with the staff. I won't return to Pampano.
Bartender and waiter were great
Great food! Delicious, perfectly prepared and beautiful presentation. Service a tad slow due to Restaurant Week but attentive. New York seating = as many tables in the space as possible. The room gets very loud when full. Convenient coat check. Will definitely return!
Whether for work or personal, Pampano is my go to restaurant. I love the food and hibiscus margarita is yummy!
The place was nice and decorated well. The staff was friendly and attentive. The drinks were great and had some kick to them. The food was amazing packed with a lot of flavor. The only thing lacking was the portion size. I was expecting a little more food. Other than that I would recommend the place.
I returned after many years and the food is as delicious as i remembered. Loved the ambiance, guacamole is special, only thing i noticed were the tiny portions.....i am not a big eater in the 1st place but the salmon (listed as $30 in the main course) was literally 3 bites and over. We took advantage of restaurant week and frankly i wasn't that hungry but if i had been, i don't think the food would have been sufficient. Just my 2 pennies here. I would go back again though, and make sure i am not ravenous!
Probably the smallest portion size I've ever had for a main course. Ordered the salmon and it was beyond tiny. My son ordered scallops (also as a MAIN course) and only got 2 scallops. We both left hungry!!
Delicious food, very attentive and friendly.
Food was great and well presented, our order was completed in a timely manner
The food was imaginative but the portions were small.
Reunion and birthday
While I understand that Pampano is participating in Restaurant Week, there is no excuse for the minuscule portions of food that is being served. It's shameful.
Ernesto is a great server!!
Nice ambiance but a lot of the items on the menu weren’t available for lunch which was a little weird. Call ahead if your heart is set on sirloin tacos, black bean soup or salmon. They might not have it. They did try to make it up to us by offering us a free dessert. I would try it again but maybe for dinner so they have more time to get deliveries and be prepared.
An old favorite living up to our recollections of the food, service and overall hospitality
Food was hugely lacking and service terrible will not return
Despite reservation Took forever to seat us. Messed up order. Way too loud. Done w this place
Very nice meal
Pampano has become my go-to upscale Mexican restaurant in NYC. The food has an authenticity I truly appreciate given my Mexican heritage and time in Mexico. The flavors are refined and delicious. The tamarindo chicken, new on the menu and recommended by knowledgeable server Ernesto, is a winner and reflects the restaurant’s Mexican coastal roots. The guacamole and shrimp tacos are musts. I always leave looking forward to my next visit.
Love the food and the drinks. Very classy restaurant in the mid town east area
Great place - had our holiday party here. Great food. Great drinks. Only sad that it was snowing so could not sit on balcony.
The food portion are small.
Great food. Good service. Insssaaaannely overpriced.
Great service. Good quality good. Very good drinks.
Nice atmosphere, a little touch of Mexico in the Middle of Manhattan.
first time dining at Pampano and we really enjoyed it. The small plates/starters are an excellent way to build a meal. The food was outstanding.
Great service - Antonio does a great job!
In general the entire staff are doing great
Was great business meal but hard to talk. Food was great. Will return.
Inviting atmosphere, delicious food. Service was impeccable.
I have visited Pampano several times. This time my friend and I had to seat in the area around the bar because we couldn't go upstairs (personal reasons). Unfortunately, the Service downstairs lack everything I had been used as to upstairs. I have to ask for salt for my guacamole a couple of times. Once the salt came, it was this tiny container that barely had any salt, those used in Hotel rooms, which is fine.. if it had enough salt. Then we were not even offered fresh pepper, just the same tiny pepper container.. very sad. Once we started our meal, we needed to ask for ice water many times. It is like our table was not in a convenient place for them. If that is the case, please let us know that we will receive less than optimal service, after all, we go there for both: Good food and good service. The food, as usual, was delicious, no complaints there but the experience loses its magic when the Service isn't good. Then when paying our bill, the server did not want us to separate our bill, even though I have done this many times. We have to take our own calculator and figure out each other's consumption. I guess it was on our part. Last time I visited, Ii was not given a glass of water at the bar area either. I wonder if the bar area is managed by someone else and that is why it works so differently from upstairs. My friend was from out of town and love Mexican food. I was very disappointed since I wanted to give a good impression of a good Mexican place that can be found in the City. She was only visiting for one day. I guess next time if I go there, I will seat upstairs.. and request better service.. than the one I had this time..
