This was not our first visit to Pammy's, but it may be our last. The beautiful main room needs to be reassessed for noise, because it's a cacophony, way past what's pleasant and vibrant. But I wouldn't judge the food by the noise, and the food on this visit was below par. The sweetbreads are very nice, but overly-rich in their buttery presentation. The salt cod, baccala, was a bland porridge without the vital flavor of the cod. The bolognese was far too salty, overwhelming other elements of the dish. The skate wing was very good, but the presentation looked like a flat beige shoe, served with no style whatsoever, just plopped down alone on the large dish with not even a pinch of accompanying garnish. The mussels were very good. The dessert pane cotta was lovely.
The service was okay, but not crisp, especially as the meal wore on toward dessert and coffee.
There's never a dull plate at Pammy's. Creative, eclectic, flavorful, and crave-worthy.
It's just the best! Thanks for the great food and service, and accommodating our increased numbers.
Pammy's was heavenly as always! Excellent food, amazing service, and a lovely atmosphere. Thank you!
Amazing food ! Beautiful restaurant! Fabulous drinks !
Overally hyped restaurant that fails to deliver in the food category. Seems like your typical new age chef trying too hard to be overly creative with ingredient combinations that simply don't work. Would not recommend.
If you are lucky enough to snag a table at Pammys you are in for a treat!!!
The food was unbearably salty! Drinks were excellent, but something must be done about the food.
Pammy's was wonderful and we can't wait to return. There were so many items on the menu we wanted to try that we decided to share. It was very easy to share as we sat next to each other on the long table. The dining area and bar are absolutely beautiful. Filled with artful floral arrangements throughout and accented with a giant mirror with a carved frame on one wall and an open fireplace on the other, there are subtle divides in the room. We had an appetiser of mussels with squid ink arancini that was delicious and raw brussels salad, amazing. We then shared Lumache a "snail" shell type of pasta with a bolognese that was like no other I have had. Our server, Nick informed us there were six different meats used in the sauce. It was ground perfectly with a smooth texture and surprisingly each and every "shell" had somehow acquired just the right amount of meat in it. We had Skate over roasted cauliflower for our main and it was sublime. Beautifully seasoned and with a nice slightly crusty "shell". For desert we were treated to an amazing bread pudding with cherry ice cream. There was a caramelized coating over the bread and the ice cream was oozing onto it as we were debating who would take the first bite. This was a very memorable dining experience that was certainly casual but most definitely special.
amazing, the best meal we had in Boston! Cant wait to go back
Innovative menu - every dish has some sort of twist to it, in a good way! Pleasant open space, a nice bar and a community table for last-minute reservations. Interesting and eclectic crowd. One of my very favorite restaurants in the Boston/Cambridge/Somerville area, and I eat out a lot...
I had recommended Pammy's to many friends and they all love it. Now it's so popular that I cannot
get a reservation for weeks.
My rating on the food was 4star only because of the sweetbreads dish; otherwise, all excellent
Love having you in the neighborhood.
Food was wonderful. Waitstaff terrific. Wonderful ambiance...but noise level high for 4 people to chat.
Pammy’s is the perfect destination for a special dinner. The food and service are wonderful. It is pricey for a regular visit, but well worth the price as a treat. The staff are first rate, but it is a somewhat noisy room.
The restaurant is beautiful. Service was good. Salmon crudo was very good. The cod portion was small and each bite tasted more fishy than the next. My husband tried it as well and he also thought it was really fishy. I’ve never had such bad fish out at a restaurant and especially not at a restaurant that consistently receives this many good reviews. Very disappointing!
One of greater Boston's best dining options, a break from the stuffy old school linens and preparations where your eyes and palate can celebrate some refreshing and creative dining a cut above the rest.
The atmosphere was fun and hip, but the menu was limited ( no chicken option one veg entree ?). Service was ok, not bed but not exceptional. Tables were very tightly packed.
Pammy's is such a pretty restaurant. The decor and flowers were beautiful. Everything is so well conceived. Our meals were delicious and very complex/interesting. The mussels appetizer was fantastic. We all left extremely happy with our meal - it was wonderful in every way.
Amazing experience all around. Excellent food, fabulous service and wonderful ambiance. Highly recommend Pammy’s!
Amazing food, ambiance, and service. Moved to Boston three months ago and this was the best meal yet!
Wonderful food but it was way too noisy and very expensive with smaller portions.
Dessert selection limited with mainly ice cream
Maybe it was all the recommendations from my friends and family. Maybe it was the high rating on Open Table. Either way I was less than enchanted. The food was nothing special. The waitress was not very attentive. For some reason my knife kept slipping into my plate and getting sauce all over it (handle too weighted). It just was not the birthday spot for my wife I was hoping for. Great for Cambridge, but about average for the North End.
Bartender greeted us with a HUGE smile. She was awesome.
Blake, our server, was great and super attentive.
The food was spectacular for all 5 of us.
LOVE PAMMY'S and can't wait to go back!
Pammy's knocks it out of the park. again.
our meal from apps to dessert was delicious. my cocktail was unique and refreshing.
this was our first time at the communal table and i would 100% sit there again. though you're seated next to people you don't know, you really can't hear them and feel secluded behind the gorgeous flowers.
if you haven't yet been, sorry.
Excellent food and ambience. Reminded me of NYC Lower East Side restaurants I used to frequent, but with a little more charm and character. A wonderful addition to the Boston scene!
Very good food. Beautiful restaurant. Always left happy from pammy’s. Going back soon!!
This was our second dinner at Pammy's . This go round, we loved our table and rated highly 3 of the 4 dishes. We started with the octopus which bar none my husband say is the best he has tasted in this big wide food world. I can't comment as I refuse to eat such a smart perfect invertebrate - with all the dumb tasty animals there are, Pammy's chooses to serve the smart ones....sigh. We followed this with Lumache Pasta with Bolognese Sauce (returned to Pammy's just for this dish) and the Bucatini Pasta with Grilled Shrimp, Pistachio and Chili Oil - different, but equally as good as the Bolognese. I am a big skate fan but this Skate dish failed to launch. It was beautifully presented and while the Roasted Cauliflower was tender and sweet, the Apricot Vinaigrette couldn't resurrect the soggy bland Skate - it was like limp lettuce. HOwever Pammy, if you are listening, that Pistachio and Chili Oil glaze is just what the Skate was looking to swim in - killer! So will we return to Pammy's? Of course - we love clean adventurous food in a beautiful environment run by and cooked by the people who own it - it makes a difference in quality and consistency and that cool vibe that Pammy's delivers.
Foods are great! Service is fantastic! Decor is cool and cozy. Will go back often.
Service was excellent!!!!
In the last year, I've eaten at restaurants in multiple countries. This was the best dinner I've had during this period of time. The food was spectacular, the service knowledgeable and attentive, and the restaurant's design is terrific. The only downside is the noise level which is extreme. That factor aside, this is the rare hyped restaurant that is better than the hype. We can't wait to return to Pammy's
Great food - inventive menu but grounded in the classics so it’s not too far out there. Execution is on point. We had a Brussel salad that was a play in Caesar but not your typical brussel caeser. Also has a pasta dish that was cooked to perfection. They make their own pasta on site and they cook it perfectly al dente. So important for pasta dishes. And then we finished with pork Milanese which was moist and flavorful but not heavy or oily. Just perfect. Service was good. Cocktails are awesome. And wine list is unique, fun and you can definitely find some good value selections by the glass.
We were here for my boy friend’s birthday. We really enjoy the seats, food and the friendly service.
We do plan the come back.
Overall cute spot! The entree was delicious (the Bugatini), the rest left much to be desired. For $17 the starters were so small. The waitress was telling us about dessert specials as we were still in the middle of eating our entrees. I was never asked if I wanted another cocktail either. I think overall I would try it again but I’m not too excited to go back.
I had heard great things about the bolognese, and it exceeded my expectations! Also the starters and cocktail lists were very creative and simply delicious. The service was excellent as well - as was the atmosphere of the restaurant
Our favorite Cambridge dinner spot. Service is always excellent and attentive. Food was delicious.
I was so excited that I was able to get a reservation so last minute! We loved sitting at the communal table. The bartender made us fantastic drinks. We weren't huge fans of the unagi but everything else was ordered was outstanding. We got to meet Pammy on our way out which totally made our night. We will definitely be back, especially for that drink!
We came in on a Friday night and had a table by the window. We loved the ambiance, decor, and the service was outstanding. I had a cocktail and my wife had some wine, all of which was perfectly paired with our meal with the help of our server. We had the octopus (most tender, well cooked octopus we’ve had), the bucatini and the duck. Gracious serving sizes and they hit all the right notes. We’ll be back.
Attractive restaurant, you’re packed in, though, and it’s pretty noisy. The mussels and skate were very good, but the cavatini with anchovies were too oily. We would have had to wait 20 minutes for the dessert to cook, so we took a pass. Service very attentive and staff pleasant.
A few members of our party were stuck on the T and we’re going to be late. Pammys did their best to accommodate us and we ended up at a hi-top table instead of in the dining Room which totally didn’t matter. Same friendly service same great menu and we were so happy they accommodated our situation. Delicious wine too!
