To crowded small. And waiters have no respect when you are with you companion this place is for rowdy and single ppl not a place to take you wife or girlfriend.!
Took my wife for a spontaneous Sat night date. Parking in the area sucks during weekend prime time, and the bar it seems gets quite loud, but given the runway-style layout with the dining room in the back, the bar scene made for more entertainment than nuisance. All 6 dishes we ordered were excellent (we rarely feel that across the board), the staff were so so nice and attentive, and the place has a neat, chic design of sorts that I can’t quite describe but was very nice. Pro tip: request a booth and sit next to each other for a more romantic/hear-to-hear-each-other experience. We’ll ride share next time, but there’ll definitely be a next time.
Cool spot with some of the best cocktails we’ve had. Awesome mojitos and margaritas.
We had great food and service at Palmilla Cocina Y Tequila the other night! As always, the food was outstanding. We particularly enjoyed the skirt steak and salmon. Eric was a fantastic server. Thank you for another great evening at Palmilla!
My boyfriend and I had brunch at this restaurant. It was his first time here and he loved the food and the customer service we were given. We will definitely be back for dinner!
This is one of the best Mexican restaurants I have been to anywhere. Its gorgeous inside plus has great patio seating! It’s trendy, fun , & clean with excellent service! The menu is extensive! The margaritas are fantastic & really perfectly crafted! I have not had a bad dish- some of the favorites- chili relleno, chimichanga and chicken mole! Their guacamole is amazing too!!
Food Ian’s service is always amazing ... just way too loud to have a normal conversation in the dining room because of the bar.
Delicious warm tortillas to start. Vegan options were amazing and super tasty. Drinks were killer. Prices are high, to be expected at a beach restaurant, but still $15-20 drinks. Today’s service was a bit slow and for a timed reservation that can make one anxious. Like it took a third request for the order of drinks and only one water refill. Otherwise a delightful way to spend an evening.
Good food great service pretty inside just really loud as in other people talking
Great food, great service, great location!
Dinner for 2 on Friday night. Great service and very good cocktails! Food was good. Very busy and loud environment. Request a booth for more privacy, or deck seating if you want to be outside.
It's in a good spot for people watching, however the food was average and not inexpensive (although I didn't expect it to be given the locale).
Our servers Devin and Eric were outstanding! The noise level was a little bit high, but it added to the ambiance of the evening. The food was delicious! We had a great time. Would definitely recommend!
Such a great brunch spot. The bottomless mimosas are great!!! And the food is so so so good. I try to come here everytime I’m in the SoCal area. One of my fav spots.
While everyone in our party thought the food could not have been better, the noise level was more than energetic. Consequently, we were split on whether we would return.
We sat inside but believe if we had sat outside on the patio where the noise level was lower, we all would be very happy to return.
Pineapple, serrano, cilantro margarita is great. Fun, beautiful restaurant with good food and service. We met friends from out of town here for dinner and had a great evening. Nice that there is a variety of dishes, not just standard Mexican fare.
Took my wife out just because we like trying new places love the twist on their food great beans fresh tortillas made right there Great service fantastic drinks reasonable prices will be coming back with more people soon
Brunch was very good. Service a little slower than usual but very friendly. One of our favorite weekend brunch places.
It’s the best Mexican food in town
We had a reservation for an outside table and when we arrived they refused to seat us outside even though there was an empty table that would seat 4 and several other empty tables. We've had a problem with seating more times than not at this restaurant and will not return based on this experience. Its a shame because this was a regular place for us and we have spent $1000's here over the last couple of years.
I love this place! Everyone that has helped us has been great!
This used to be my favorite restaurant. Have not been back in a while and have to say it was a bit of a disappointment. The drinks were not up to the standards it used to be. The heaters were not working that well so it was a cold and the window on the patio does not block the wind.
Very light, gourmet, seafood/fish Mexican menu (in addition to the traditional), possibly the BEST preparation of sea bass I’ve ever had. Excellent food, service and ambiance, we will definitely be back! Make a reservation, they are very busy you need it.
We ordered to share. Tried lots of things. Truly amazing. Honey butter on tortilla Amazon not to start. Great cocktails.
Great guacamole and fresh tortillas. Terrific combo with seafood enchilada, relleno and chimichanga. Plantain chips and diablo margarita. Terrific!!
Brought someone for their first experience. She really enjoyed it. I usually don’t get anything with chicken but tried the machaca chicken enchilada tonight; a little bland. Short rib is the best! :)
Service was fabulous from EVERYONE as always (hostess, server, busser).
WE met new friends here, they'd never dined at Palmilla. They loved it. Great atmosphere, a little loud, but still, love this place.
Food and service was great However was very loud inside
Great food, drinks and service!
We dine here often as we live just up the street. The food is consistently great and the service is the best. This time Rocky took great care of us. He accommodated everything special that we asked for our mom, who is 94 has very specific dietary needs. He made sure everything was right for her and the rest of us with a smile on his face. We love this place and know you will too. See you soon, Palmilla!
The food was really good, delicious! My golden margarita was delish as well. The interior design creates a fun atmosphere. Busy place, but service was swift and competent. Recommend!
Excellent servers today! Food and portion size was great! Location, outside Farmer’s Market, walking distance to the beach and the public parking was a plus.
Nice folks, interesting menu. Nice apps and drinks. Food was good. Wait staff was very attentive.
Great service, amazing food, Highly recommend!
We were seating right away since we made reservations, so definitely worth taking time to reserve a table. It was an hour wait without.
I had the chimichunga which was surprisingly ok. My husband ordered the Chile Relleno and Taco combo, which he said was amazing. My cousin ordered the trio taco plate and loved every single one. I chose the wrong item.
The restaurant is loud so be prepared. It is high energy, young vibe. Great restaurant. Definitely would recommend and will try again if we are in the area, since there are so many great trendy fun restaurants. I will just order something different.
Food was good although a little overpriced. The 4 of us seated in a booth which was cramped for us, and uncomfortable especially with the leg room. 2 of us tall. Noise level was terrible so don’t expect to be able to enjoy conversation.
Great service. The food was good. My order was a special request and the chicken was a bit dry but otherwise all good.
Made our Wedding Anniversary special
Excellent service and very accommodating. We had reserved for 4, but arrived with 8 and they very nicely accommodated us. Inside has amazing decor. We ate on patio which was also very nice. Menu has variety of items in terms of size and price and again, service was very very good.
Best tortillas ever!!! Went for Cinco de Mayo. Will return again. Our waiter, who’s name I forgot.. but he was Irish was awesome. Food was very good.
