Palmilla Cocina Y Tequila

I ate here the last night of my trip and it was, by far, the best meal we had in LA and the surrounding area. The salmon was cooked to perfection and the combinations of flavor and textures on my plate were divine. It was a truly wonderful meal from start to finish. I will absolutely be back on my next trip to SoCal.

The food is delicious! Homemade tortillas, salsa, and amazing sweet butter are given after being seated. The shrimp fajitas are scrumptious, and there is enough to feed 2 people.
My critique is I felt the waiter could have done a better job with interacting with us. I am always friendly with waiters, and he was not personable or welcoming to us. He seemed way too busy, and almost annoyed when we flagged him down to ask him something. I was under the impression he wanted us in and out fast. It is too bad, because the food and decor are amazing. We just didn't feel well received. I would not return.

I’ve heard great reviews about this restaurant and came here for my 35th birthday. It definitely met my expectations and the food and drinks were delicious. Definitely coming back for brunch with my family.

Loved the hand made tortillas!

Made reservations 2 days before Christmas due to family plans changed. We could only get outside seating and was a bit worried due to super cold (for California, haha) and big chance of rain. We were well protected and super warm with umbrellas, heaters and we even got the Fire Pit table we were hoping for! Everyone was SO friendly and seemed happy to be there even on Christmas! From our hostess, waiter, food runner...everyone made us feel warm and welcomed! Food was DELICIOUS! Dad had a beautiful steak and my hubby and I had a perfect chicken dish (flavored so beautifully!). While Dad and hubby went for a traditional Christmas Whiskey/Sour I went this the handcrafted Jalapeño Mint Margarita(s)...yes I had 2! Thank you Palmilla Cocina for making our Christmas just perfect!

Food was upscale Mexican. It wasn’t anything to rave about especially for the price, but it was a nice choice if you’re wanting a nice evening out. The patio view was great. The service wasn’t great. While the patio area was busier, inside was not. Our dinner took over 2 hours purely because of the service. Larger groups around us were seated after us and out before us. It took 20 minutes just to get our credit card back which is a little nerve racking. He did comp our appetizer due to the wait on our card, but everything about our dinner was that way.

Great food, service, ambiance, everything. Great place to go with friends, family (*maybe not families with young children though), or dates. The appetizer tortillas with the honey butter is the best.

Food was okay, but not worth the price. Server forgot a drink and a refill of tortillas. Overall, it was a 6/10 experience.

Despite of its high ratings we found the food not meeting our expectations especially the main dish. We were so disappointed. But we will try there again soon.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They didn’t rush us as we had a nice luxurious dinner experience. The food was right on as usual. Our favorite place to eat when we visit Hermosa Beach.

We went for brunch for my birthday. It was okay. Worst part was the sun was in my face most of the meal which I find pretty uncomfortable. Guacamole was mediocre. Combo of cheese enchilada and Chile relleno was okay. Cheese enchilada was not good ... too much tortilla, kind of dry, not enough cheese. Chili relleno was the best part of it. Strawberry margarita was good. Service was good tho ... prob won’t go back for it was only okay.

Price was reasonable but on the high side. Overall it was a great dining experience!

Service was like no other. The best I’ve ever experienced, I got my food in less than 15 min after ordering. The food was amazing in itself. Shrimp and dungeness crap enchiladas are breathtaking.

Palmilla is local favorite spot of mine. It was fantastic the other night, thank you.

My cousins were visiting from Finland and we wanted to treat them to a beautiful evening at Palmilla on the patio at sunset. Everyone was so accommodating and wonderful. We even were treated to the fire pit for cocktails with our Charlie Doodle. Our Doodle loves Palmilla, too! Brian took excellent care of us! He always has great recommendations. The food and cocktails are delicious and very unique and special. My family LOVED IT!! We look forward to our next visit!

We love Palmilla! The nicest and sweetest people working there. Delicious food. Our waiter recommended the churros for dessert and they did not disappoint. Best cocktails for sure!

Place was very lively. A bit expensive but due to the high foot traffic area by the hermosa pier. I would eat here again for sure. A pint of beer at $7 was no bargain

My girlfriends and I choose a brunch spot once a month. I had enjoyed my experiences several times before so I decided to select Palmilla for this month since my guests had never been. I was so embarrassed by the service and the food, I will not recommend it again. I'm very disappointed.

Mike was our server and he was great!! Knew the drinks very well and have great advice on the menu! We had a great time!

Our waiter Eric was amazing! All of the staff are great! They were dealing with brunch guests that did not want to leave, and Eric placed us at a table for 4, so we watched the crowds walk by, and sipped margarita’s!!! Amazing day, great food, always the best service!!!
