Service was not good at all!
It was a last minute, perfectly accident that I discovered this place. To the owners , cheers! Not a fan of pickles but I'm also picky lol. To the staff thank you for turning my night around with your service. My experience here was unlike anything I have had since the beginning of the pandemic and I so appreciated it. From their vaccine verification to speedy service. Everything was delicious. My drink was perfect. I love that you switch up the music so it caters to everyone in the house. For ~$67 pre-tip , I had a 3 course meal with an adult beverage... I'll be back soon 🥰
Great service, delicious food, excellent drinks. Will return.
For a place that is billed as a steakhouse, the standouts were the vegetable dishes, which were well-textured & flavorful.
Had a great anniversary dinner here with my wife. Food and service was excellent.
Loved the cocktails, the food was also very tasty.
Food and cocktails exceptional as always!
HOLLY IS AN AMAZING SERVER! THE FISH WAS A TINY BIT DRY, BUT EVERYTHING ELSE WAS JUST SMASHING. WE WILL BE BACK AND WE WILL SIT IN HOLLY'S SECTION AGAIN.
Delicious food. Lots of street parking. Great drinks. Overall great spot.
It was wonderful to come back to where one of our favorite restaurants was and find a new one that was also great. Very respectful remodel and very delicious food.
The service was fantastic. They are very attentive of their guests. The food is delicious and so are the drinks.
I have been to this place 4x or more. The menu is always changing. I've tried almost all of them and its always delicious. The desert menu had improved a lot. I like that the ice cream flavors are also changing each time we visited. I'm not much of a drinker but the cocktail drinks are one a kind. The service is impecable and very welcoming.
We have been to Palmetto twice now: once on a date night, and once with the kids for their Prime Rib Wednesdays. For our date night, we got the escargot and the tartare for starters, the halibut and NY strip steak for entrees, and the banana and chocolate pie for dessert. The flavors for the starters was different than what we were expecting from when we've had these at standard French restaurants. There was definitely a Latin flair that tasted really good. We both really liked it. The entrees were well done and again, the sauces and veggies had a nice Latin flair. The pie was delicious and not too sweet. The second experience was with their prime rib special. I can't quite say that the prime rib was worth the price, but the sides and the salad were great. The prime rib was standard and nothing special. I would definitely recommend Palmetto for a date night and everything we tried was delicious, I just wouldn't necessarily get the prime rib again.
Great food and wonderful service. Loved our time here.
Delicious food. Their shrimp cocktail was nothing like the poor sad little pink things drooped over the rim of a bowl of cocktail sauce -- they were artfully arranged, topped with thin slices of radish, nestled in salsa verde.
We were very happy that Palmetto has instituted a requirement that all custoemrs be vaccinated. We would not have gone otherwise.
Room was noisy but not too noisy -- we were able to hear each other and have a fine conversation.
There are cute banquettes one one side of the restaurant where you are in a mini-booth. Those would be fun to eat in.
Prices were a little on the high side but I think that is the way all good-quality restaurants are going right now. I assume they're trying to pay their staff decently.
Extremely happy with their vaccine policy!!
Drinks where good food look beautiful but not delicious
Great cocktails and ambiance. We loved the appetizers. The vegetarian main was good but not something i would get again. My husband really enjoyed the chicken main.
Delicious food, great atmosphere, awesome location!
Amazing food and such a great vibe. Can’t wait to come back!
Lovely drinks, tasty entree and nice server - I'll be back!
Palmetto was fantastic! All facets of the meal were wonderful- drinks, food, service. The bar program is a perfect blend of creatively new and lesser known (but tasty) classics. The food was interesting and delicious. The service excelled above expectations as well. We got to geek out with the bar manager and our waiter paired our slew of dishes perfectly.
A wonderful evening!
Wonderful experience all around. Delicious food, incredible fun drinks, and nice service. It was a little hard to hear the server over his mask, but that's not his fault. I appreciate their attention to safety during this tough time.
Got the Hamchi crudo and the Brussel sprouts for apps, both of which blew us away especially the Brussels and if that’s where the meal ended I would have nothing negative to say. But the entrees were a significant let down. Between the two of us we got the steak dinner both ways. My 16oz ribeye was charred to death and between a medium and a medium well and my friends short rib was basically adobo leather. Might have just been an off night though so I’ll most likely give another chance.
Such a wonderful, fun vibe. Everything was delicious and drinks were fun and strong. Highly recommend!
Great ambience and the food was even better
Great Place, good food, good service, and fun atmosphere!
Food wasn't very good & the prices are very high especially for Oakland. I would have expected a better cocktail menu as well.
We loved our time at Palmetto. We sat at the perfect table for people-watching, loved the solid wine list, did the prime rib dinner and a couple salads and had a fantastic time. Will be a monthly pilgrimage for us.
Lively, fun and full. Everything was great, we shared several apps in a group. Service was attentive but casual and didn't rush us. Some of the best fries I've had in a while (paired well with mussels), the dino kale salad was great, and I liked the shrimp "cocktail." We all enjoyed the tropical drinks as well as the classic cocktails
Nice vibe at the restaurant, crowded but not terribly loud; pork chop was excellent, chicken less so. Salads quite different from standard fare and well done
The escargot, steak tartare, fries, and cocktails were excellent. The shrimp cocktail and scallop entree were a little disappointing. Better than Flora was though—would go back.
Great food attentive service and a fun atmosphere. Will be back.
Love what they've done with the old Flora space! It was in need of a refresh, and they delivered! Perfect for a girls' night out, or a date night. Instagram worthy ambiance and REALLY good food & drinks. I literally booked another reservation the moment I got home from dinner!
Food was quite good. Scallops were the table favorite .Interiors very current, great use of color. Drinks were very good. Tasted like drinking a refreshing pool cocktail.
Very nice staff, excellent food and drinks
The decor was spot on 50s diner, someone obvious put a lot of time and effort into the decor. However if only they put that much work into the actual food…I came for the Wednesday prime rib dinner. The starter salad was raw red cabbage based which isn’t a problem if it’s sliced thin like in cole slaw, but these were in large inedible chunks. It came out looking like it had been boiled, and absent any seasoning. Again - probably on par for 50s style diner cooking but not what I want for a $65 plate. The green beans were cooked in sugar and were inedible and the mashed potatoes were so thin I strongly suspect they were made from a box. My partner got the only vegetarian fish on the menu - vegetable and grits, the grits were just plain awful. I can make better grits at home and I’m not even a good cook.
This place was so bad I actually took the time to write a review. I Wouldn’t come here again.
Great for a date night, or just a fun night out. Drinks, food, service all were awesome.
