A lovely day in San Francisco out on the patio
Had a great brunch sitting outside in the warm sun. Enjoyed a tropical punch bowl with our meal. We thought we were in Hawaii :) The service and food were great.
Hostess, wait staff and Manger were very friendly, inviting and helpful. The food was really good, but be sure the prices are within your budget. The cocktails were liked by my whole group
Food was alright, they were out of spam musubi which was a let down. All the other food was pretty mediocre given the price. Go there for the cocktails, those are greay
I was extremely excited to try Palm House because the vibe seemed really cool and the the concept was fun. My boyfriend and I made a reservation for brunch on Sunday, March 24th. The restaurant was not too busy (a reservation was not really needed) and we were seated right away. We were seated in the back - which was very dark compared to the vibrant atmosphere in the front of the house (which had a two-top available) and way too cold (we tried to close the windows; however, they would not close). The menus and water bottle were sticky and there was a lemon seed on one of the preset plates. However, we decided to have an open mind. 20 minutes passed and the only acknowledgement we got was from the host at the time we were seated. 5 employees had looked at our table and had ignored us. Finally, when we were acknowledged it was a rushed, "Hi, has anyone been to your table yet?" When we had said no, she said "okay, I will find your server. Can I get you something to drink?" I was done at the point and was ready to leave; however, we (my boyfriend) decided to give our server a chance. When our server finally came to our table, I noticed she had been waiting on the one other table next to us for the last 20 minutes. I laughed at this. We left and my boyfriend explained to the host what had occurred. A few minutes later, I received an email notification from Open Table stating that we had missed our reservation, which (obviously) was not the case. As one who is in the hospitality industry, I have a high expectation for servers; however, this simply blew my mind. We ended up at Cow Marlowe for brunch and were greeted by 3 different servers within 2 minutes of being seated. Now, that is what I call good service.
I am sure Palm House has great food; however, I was not given the opportunity to order and therefore do not know for myself. I will not be back.
Amazing atmosphere. Mediocre everything else. Slow service and meh food.
Really great food and ambiance. Great place for a night out.
I've been to the Palm House both in the evening with a group and for a Saturday brunch. The atmosphere was relaxed during the day but at night it was a bit clubby, which is totally fine if that's your expectation.
If you like House music club vibes with rum bowls on a Saturday at 11 am - then this place is definitely for you. Good luck getting a drink in under 20 minutes. Food is great, service staff are stellar. But if you have kids or don’t like frat parties, then maybe go during Monday through Friday.
First time at palm house and loved the music , the ambience , food was 👌🏼 And service amazing! Will def be back
Great selection and service
Good place for bar food. Food was very expensive for what we got. So loud we could barely hear one another. Would go back for a snack and drink, but not for dinner.
We made a reservation for 4 during SF Restaurant Week. Upon arrival, we were given our SFRW menus, taken to a table at the back (the main area is extremely loud, so we were grateful for that, at least). When our server came over, she told us that they had unfortunately “sold out” of food for the SFRW menu, took them away from us, and put down their “usual menu.”
We told her that the only reason we had come was for Restaurant Week and the special prix fixe menu that had been developed. I’m not sure how it was possible to be “sold out” for Restaurant Week, but it’s something the management and kitchen should really look into. Although our server tried a half hearted apology, she told us we could just get food for my their menu. We decided to leave and go to a different restaurant.
amazing! servers did a great job making my 21st one to remember!
We loved the food and atmosphere. It's a great brunch spot, but definitely get noisy and crowded with lots of people having fun. Service was a bit slow, but they were really busy when we were there. I definitely recommend making a reservation and requesting to sit on the indoor patio, away from bar if you want to be able to talk.
Caitlin was our server and we had the best experience ever!! Great customer service and the food was amazing.
Kitchen ran out of cod for fish taco, pleasant waitress forgot a couple of our tacos. Tacos were tasty though. Bad was playing, not overwhelming. If fact, enjoyable background music
Fresh, delicious and creative food in a relaxing and stylish environment. Loved it!
Food and service were fantastic!
Pleasantly surprised... first time stopping in.
House music selections were a bit puzzling.
I love palm house. It has a fun and friendly vibe and the food and drinks are fantastic.
I’ve never been mooned at a restaurant before, and I think that’s something I’m willing to experience just once. They need a bouncer or something. The food was fine but certainly could not compete with other aspects of the dinner.
Here in SF for vacations with my kids. The photo that was displayed in the website that I look into for places to eat with kids was not from the restaurant. When we went to the restaurant the bouncer stop us and the manager came and offer me to go in thought the emergency back door. It was loud but my kids enjoyed. The manager give to my kids some hula necklaces and also little yellow ducks. Meal was good. By 7:30 pm the restaurant was more loud and packed. But we enjoyed.
This is the perfect place for a big group! I suggest going for a boozy brunch with friends. The vibe is super fun, great cocktails, good food!
Will definitely come back for a girls brunch!
A Halloween party was happening when we dined. It would have been better to have designated areas for dining and the party. While our server was pleasant, the food was mediocre yet expensive. I had hire expectations. I would not recommend this restaurant. There are far better places to eat in San Francisco.
Service was great, food was great. The $3 tacos were a nice surprise.
One of my favorite spots. Will come back soon!
Absolute worst service I’ve ever experienced in San Francisco. Waiters take forever to get drinks to the table, my table wasn’t ready when I arrived, punch bowl wasn’t on table before arriving either (seven despite paying for it to be there beforehand), and the overall service provided by the manager himself after sitting down was even worse.
Will never be back here.
This is definitely not the place to be if you want to have a leisurely lunch in SF. The music was so loud in this restaurant that the Hostess couldn't hear us when we checked in. We had to yell our name and reservation time twice before just pointing at our name on her reservation sheet. The Hostess assured us that the music would be quieter at our table in the back of the restaurant, but we had to push our way through a shoulder-to-shoulder pack of patrons hanging out at the bar to get to our table. The music was most definitely NOT quieter, as our table was only 15 feet from the crowded bar area. After waiting 10 minutes at our table perusing the menu, a server came up and said she would be with us "in a few minutes". We waited another 10 minutes with no service and finally left the restaurant.
The space is great, everything else is not. We ordered drinks which the waitress forgot and took 25 minutes to get. On top of that the food was bland, dry, and the fried chicken banh mi had no actual chicken on it. Last but not least the waitress spilled an entire bottle of water all over the table and people. Highly suggest going else where.
Beautiful place. Loud but inevitable because of the structure. Would have been nice if they hadn't screwed up my Open Table reservation.
Great especially if you sit outdoors - very dog friendly. And JP, the
Bartender, makes one of the best mai tais in town!
Too loud! Way toooooo loud!
I had an amazing time celebrating my birthday here
The food and service were both very good. Some interesting takes on both the drink and dinner menus. The music was very loud, but otherwise a great dining experience.
I love Palm House. My favorite place in the Marina. Awesome casual fun vibe, fast and excellent service and amazing food.
We were in San Fran for the weekend and decided to check out the Cow Hollow area, so I made reservations at Palm House. The hostess and wait staff were very accommodating with seating - it was raining and chilly, so most people wanted to sit inside, even though their outdoor seating is covered. Once seated the waitress was very attentive. The food took a while to come out but we just figured they were busy, and everything was so good, it was worth the wait. The drinks were the perfect strength. I really wanted to try the Rum Punch Bowl but our group wasn't large enough...plus it didn't look sanitary. I love my friends but I don't want to drink their backwash - maybe they could offer a pitcher version of the bowl (LOL). Anyway, if you are in the area, try them - your belly will thank you :-)
Palm house is one of my go to weekend restaurants. Great atmosphere, a little noisy but it adds to the life of the restaurant. The food is fantastic.
I have been here before with better results but this last time was terrible. The service was absolutely terrible. I couldn’t find anyone to refill my drinks and I had to actually walk up to the kitchen to get a side of French fries. Food wise we ordered the ahi poke avocado as an appetizer and fried chicken sandwiches for both of us. First off they brought out the chicken sandwiches first. We didn’t receive the “appetizer” until 15 minutes later. As we’re digging into our chicken sandwiches which were actually good we found that some of my gfs sweet potato fires were still frozen. We wanted to tell someone but once again could not find our server or any other server. At that we were just ready to get out of there. Too bad we’ve been before and especially enjoyed the cocktails and we’re planning on having a few that day. Unfortunately with the poor service we didn’t even have the opportunity to have more than 1.
