Food and service were fantastic!
Pleasantly surprised... first time stopping in.
House music selections were a bit puzzling.
I love palm house. It has a fun and friendly vibe and the food and drinks are fantastic.
I’ve never been mooned at a restaurant before, and I think that’s something I’m willing to experience just once. They need a bouncer or something. The food was fine but certainly could not compete with other aspects of the dinner.
Here in SF for vacations with my kids. The photo that was displayed in the website that I look into for places to eat with kids was not from the restaurant. When we went to the restaurant the bouncer stop us and the manager came and offer me to go in thought the emergency back door. It was loud but my kids enjoyed. The manager give to my kids some hula necklaces and also little yellow ducks. Meal was good. By 7:30 pm the restaurant was more loud and packed. But we enjoyed.
This is the perfect place for a big group! I suggest going for a boozy brunch with friends. The vibe is super fun, great cocktails, good food!
Will definitely come back for a girls brunch!
A Halloween party was happening when we dined. It would have been better to have designated areas for dining and the party. While our server was pleasant, the food was mediocre yet expensive. I had hire expectations. I would not recommend this restaurant. There are far better places to eat in San Francisco.
Service was great, food was great. The $3 tacos were a nice surprise.
One of my favorite spots. Will come back soon!
Absolute worst service I’ve ever experienced in San Francisco. Waiters take forever to get drinks to the table, my table wasn’t ready when I arrived, punch bowl wasn’t on table before arriving either (seven despite paying for it to be there beforehand), and the overall service provided by the manager himself after sitting down was even worse.
Will never be back here.
This is definitely not the place to be if you want to have a leisurely lunch in SF. The music was so loud in this restaurant that the Hostess couldn't hear us when we checked in. We had to yell our name and reservation time twice before just pointing at our name on her reservation sheet. The Hostess assured us that the music would be quieter at our table in the back of the restaurant, but we had to push our way through a shoulder-to-shoulder pack of patrons hanging out at the bar to get to our table. The music was most definitely NOT quieter, as our table was only 15 feet from the crowded bar area. After waiting 10 minutes at our table perusing the menu, a server came up and said she would be with us "in a few minutes". We waited another 10 minutes with no service and finally left the restaurant.
The space is great, everything else is not. We ordered drinks which the waitress forgot and took 25 minutes to get. On top of that the food was bland, dry, and the fried chicken banh mi had no actual chicken on it. Last but not least the waitress spilled an entire bottle of water all over the table and people. Highly suggest going else where.
Beautiful place. Loud but inevitable because of the structure. Would have been nice if they hadn't screwed up my Open Table reservation.
Great especially if you sit outdoors - very dog friendly. And JP, the
Bartender, makes one of the best mai tais in town!
Too loud! Way toooooo loud!
I had an amazing time celebrating my birthday here
The food and service were both very good. Some interesting takes on both the drink and dinner menus. The music was very loud, but otherwise a great dining experience.
I love Palm House. My favorite place in the Marina. Awesome casual fun vibe, fast and excellent service and amazing food.
We were in San Fran for the weekend and decided to check out the Cow Hollow area, so I made reservations at Palm House. The hostess and wait staff were very accommodating with seating - it was raining and chilly, so most people wanted to sit inside, even though their outdoor seating is covered. Once seated the waitress was very attentive. The food took a while to come out but we just figured they were busy, and everything was so good, it was worth the wait. The drinks were the perfect strength. I really wanted to try the Rum Punch Bowl but our group wasn't large enough...plus it didn't look sanitary. I love my friends but I don't want to drink their backwash - maybe they could offer a pitcher version of the bowl (LOL). Anyway, if you are in the area, try them - your belly will thank you :-)
Palm house is one of my go to weekend restaurants. Great atmosphere, a little noisy but it adds to the life of the restaurant. The food is fantastic.
I have been here before with better results but this last time was terrible. The service was absolutely terrible. I couldn’t find anyone to refill my drinks and I had to actually walk up to the kitchen to get a side of French fries. Food wise we ordered the ahi poke avocado as an appetizer and fried chicken sandwiches for both of us. First off they brought out the chicken sandwiches first. We didn’t receive the “appetizer” until 15 minutes later. As we’re digging into our chicken sandwiches which were actually good we found that some of my gfs sweet potato fires were still frozen. We wanted to tell someone but once again could not find our server or any other server. At that we were just ready to get out of there. Too bad we’ve been before and especially enjoyed the cocktails and we’re planning on having a few that day. Unfortunately with the poor service we didn’t even have the opportunity to have more than 1.
Good food, good costumer service, loved the front patio.
Had a great time for Sunday brunch in the outdoor section. Service was good, they were out of a couple of items when we ordered but we were able to substitute for other things we wanted. Guava mimosa was really good
Great ambiance, excellent service, interesting food preparations!
The brisket taco was SO GOOD. I should have ordered 5 of those. Great drinks too. And I love that this place is dog friendly.
Jake, our server, was great. We enjoyed the place. Tasty food but prices are a bit high, I guess that is what you get when brunching in San Francisco. Recommended.
Really great! Only downside was that they were out of my favorite dish.
Very loud and not so kid-friendly on a Sunday late afternoon. Food was great and I would go back for a different occasion.
We hosted our birthday brunch here of 15 and it was a perfect day out the management team was the best and super thoughtful of our group and our birthday stars so much great energy here cheers to the manager and waitress for attending to us and for the comp ice cream you guys are awesome.
Our waiter was Adam and he was awesome! Super attentive, but didn’t hover one bit. We actually loved every time he would come by. If he wasn’t working we would have insisted he come out with us. He anticipated all our needs and was the cherry on top of a delicious brunch celebrating our special occasion. The music COULD NOT HAVE BEEN BETTER. Motown with classic oldies that everyone in Earth knows the words to. The guava mimosa was delicious. The prickly pear mimosa, too. The seating was super picturesque for a large group. We sat on the cushioned bench in front of the huge windows with palms behind it. The lighting in the morning with skylights over us was as good as studio lighting. Their service was also prompt but they let us take our time, which was really nice.
Great ambiance when the weather is good!
Awesome food and cocktails!
I have been to Palm several times, I live in the neighborhood and never have experienced such poor food and service at this restaurant. I have been here several times for brunch but this brunch on Sunday 2p.m. turned out to be a REALLY REALLY loud and obnoxious party scene. Really? it was bunch! Save this hot mess for night time. Manager came over to "fake" an apology, wait staff was more interested in party than other guests seated in the rear of the restaurant. Very poor service and as a result the food cold and we couldn't get our beverages refilled because the bar was too busy with the party. Question whether they were legally over capacity. Will not be going back to Palm again and letting my friends and family know... not that the manager cares. Way to alienate your more stable/consistent guests.
We have always loved Palm House for their drinks, apps and atmosphere (fun bar scene, great patio). Hadn’t been to dinner in awhile there and thought it was so fantastic! Great spices and mix of flavors. We loved everything we ordered and there are more items on the menu that I want to try! Will definitely be heading back.
I constantly walk by Palm House and it's usually pretty busy especially midday on weekends, and it gets good reviews but we had a horrible experience. There was basically no one in the restaurant which would usually mean great service but quite the opposite. I arrived to meet clients who looked less than thrilled. They'd asked about a bottle of wine to which they were told it was out, and asked for a recommendation similar to it and got an opposite recommendation, to which then proceeding to bring tastes out of the wines that we specifically said we didn't want, and then said they were actually out of the second type we wanted. We were supposed to have dinner there but after having a drink during which the server completely disappeared and we had to go to the bar to ask for the check, we decided to leave. It felt like it maybe used to be good and well put together but lost it's shine and never re-polished, nor hired staff that were well trained or cared much. Too bad, looks cute.
Bad service, bad food, very loud. Will never return
Crazy busy early Saturday evening. Noise level ridiculously high. And I would suggest a week night if you are looking for quiet dinner.
First time here - heard it was popular for brunch. Flatbread was impossible to cut and tuna poke was way way too oily. Lots of oil + a mayo/aioli type sauce + avocado. Drinks were nothing special. Server was very nice though. Then got extremely crowded at the bar and other customers were pretty obnoxious - that’s to be expected during day drinking hours though. Would come back on a day or night out partying, but not to sit down.
Enjoyed Restaurant Week Dinner Menu.
Appetizer - Seared Ahi
Entree - Pork Press
Dessert - Almond Joy Pie
It was also happy hour which was perfect! The guava slushy was bomb
You simply cannot add mango to dishes and call it West Indian. It's a little insulting and pretty inaccurate. I'm of West Indian descent and was super excited to move to the city and find out that there is a Jamaican restaurant in the area! I took my husband and my daughter and we looked at the menu, looking for our favorite dishes (okay, not exact, but something similar would do!) only to find mango garnishing everything and sweet/tangy sauces. I mean it was tasty but definitely not West Indian. If you are looking for something authentic... This isn't your spot.
