Welcoming staff; outdoor dining in SF! Nice
happy hour specials, great seafood options
We sat outside but checked out the inside space which looked pretty swell, too.
We had a party of 7 and enjoyed our experience overall at Palm House.
Food was tasty
Team was accommodating when it came to last minute rsvp changes
Small, cramped, and humid/hot and no air flow
Really long time to get food
Appetizers were v small portions
Bill was bigger than expected $$$$
Server was not clearing empty drink cups or plates on the very small table, I had to flag down and ask multiple times throughout evening
Bday slushy shots were delicious!!!
Server took a minute to greet us - service was slow
Our star ratings are accurate. We enjoyed 1 of 5 things we ordered. The food was bland - flavorless! The service was poor. We waited 15 minutes before being offered a drink after flagging someone down to take our order…which we had to do each time we wanted to order (apps, meal, drinks). We were disappointed our experience did not match was we read on Yelp or here. We enjoyed the ambiance the most. Not returning.
Happy Hour with friends was fun here! The chipotle margarita was so delicious!!
love the food here! it's a fun tropical getaway :)
We spent a week in San Francisco, and this was one of the better meals we had. We especially appreciated the wholesomeness--lots of well-prepared grilled veggies, no grease, and not too much heat. For us, the only negative was that the main courses were a trifle bland. We expected a little more spice and flavor in the jerk sauce, but that is a minor quibble with what was otherwise a delicious dinner.
The vibe is beautiful. the servers were really sweet. The food is really good and try to get a place outside.
We had a lovely 16th birthday dinner for my son, with my parents and the extended family. Low key, mellow vibe over all and it was so great to have a large table outside. We were 10 including a toddler, at dusk. The kids ate early and spent half the time playing on the steps of the office next door. Really scrumptious evening. And great cocktails!
I love the menu (keep in mind, it's Cow Hollow pricing). There are so many options! Easy to have a tapas table or go for entrees, there's something for everyone. They even have less spicy options for anyone who can't take a lot of pepper. Overall it's just a welcoming, warm experience and one worth coming back to! Thank you Palm House!!
This place is so cute. Service was really good and the food for all 9 of us came out promptly!
Great happy hour. Friendly service. The outside tables were sticky and dirty which surprised us since everyone is trying to be careful due to COVID. The food is good.
Made reservations for family of 4 for outdoor seating on Thursday night, 7:45pm for husband's birthday. It was a very pleasant and fun dinner. Drinks and food were good. Music was fun and not too loud (we were sitting in parklet). Our server, Ariel was excellent: super friendly, delightful and attentive! Festive atmosphere and good for a special occasion. Entrees are a little pricey but are big portions and creative. My husband is vegetarian and there were lots of veggie options. Coconut rice is very tasty!
Cute place and the first time I was there, had great service. Second time around was a bit different. Our server waited 30 minutes to ask us for our drink order and overall seemed annoyed at us. He warmed up by the end. Buser (Fernando i think?) was great! He was friendly, fast and attentive.
Food portions a bit small but tasty. Salad was a bit boring.
Went here for dinner with a girlfriend and we had a blast! The waitstaff was kind and helpful, the menu looked so good we ended up ordering at least a third of the items and everything was delicious, and the ambiance was fun. Would definitely love to go again soon.
Loud but very fun! Great cocktails in an energetic atmosphere.
It was an absolutely wonderful experience but our servers made it great! Specifically the girl with glasses and short curly hair- she was incredibly patient with our group and kind. Thank you for the experience!
Salmon was good. It didn't come with anything like rice or veggies. It was just sat on top of some bean sprouts, which seemed lame for something labeled an entree. The "mashed avocado" was delicious and so much avocado.
The food at this establishment is excellent. I was pleasantly surprised with the taste of the lemongrass prawns. The jerk chicken was delicious too. The seating is outdoors soo it gets chilly sitting outside so dress appropriately.
Great food, pleasant staff and easy booking. Great spot for the 8 of us
They took off the crispy shrimp tacos from the menu. Ahi poke was very bland. The chicken sandwich was okay. They did not get our order correct. Very disappointed in the service and food quality this time.
A San Francisco gem! Happy and fun staff, great food and good drinks!
Service was extremely slow. The food was delicious but it took a long time to order/receive food. We ordered an alcoholic bowl to share with the table but it did not taste like anything.
A very interesting experience. Was surprised to find myself dining inside a club atmosphere, with a lot of shouting and servers and other guests hanging off each other and kissing. When we arrived, the host advised that she had to 'kick some people out' of our table, which she did. The Yacht Rock cocktail was refreshing. The spam musubi was pretty flavorful, as was the smashed avocado (loved the taro chips). Our server recommended the jerk chicken plate which included flavorful, deliciously spiced chicken as well as some fresh charred tomatoes and broccolini - definitely recommend this dish. The fried chicken sandwich was just okay. Decor was great, a very tropical whimsical vibe.
Would have loved to try the food outside of the nightclub environment... now I know and would request an outside table next time, weather permitting!
Great food, great atmosphere. Would come back again.
It was our first time to the Palm House and absolutely loved it. The food was so good, service was awesome and the ambiance was fun and relaxing. We will definitely be back!
It was a lovely birthday dinner with my fav people!
If you go here request to eat inside. Outside was obnoxious and a bad atmosphere
Both food and service were stellar! The menu is very creative, kudos to the chefs. Looking forward to many return visits.
Service was great to say the least! Enjoyed the food and the vibe.
Definitely coming back
Overall, decent food. Service slow. Never saw our waiter again after ordering. Maybe short staffed?
They were really nice in letting us combine tables! However, the service was fairly slow after that. They also forgot one person’s order completely and it took them 20+ minutes to get it to her.
The host gentleman and the hostess are awesome. There were so many customers, lots of reservations… They were on top of everything and getting things moving. They got us the best table for our need.
Overall we enjoyed our time at the Palm House. Atmosphere was vibrant and fun. We were a party of 8 and requested to sit outside in the parklet so that we could spread out. The parklet does not have much ambiance - just chairs and old tables. Regardless, we were outside and enjoyed the fresh air and sunshine. Our reservation was for 2pm, so we could only order off the brunch menu which is very limited and doesn't provide some of the basic Caribbean options you might expect, such as jerk chicken. Overall the food and drinks were good. Next time I will go during dinner for more expansive menu.
NEVER a bad time at Palm House. They literally have one of the best Happy Hours in the city!
Checked in with the host maybe 4 minutes late, asked for an outside table, he said just a few minutes so we went to the bar to grab a drink while we waited. Checked in with him twice, 45 minutes later asked him for an update. He then tells me I checked in 15 minutes late, complete lie. Asked to speak the manager, he was nice and gave us a complimentary drink. Worst host ever!
Good food, generous shots, cute outdoors. Very sticky floor inside though…
Pros: Service & Ambience
- Service: Excellent, very friendly & prompt. They brought out an adorable birthday treat as I had mentioned in the reservation that we were celebrating my birthday.
- Ambience: Awesome! We sat outside in the boat, very "selfie-friendly". I meant to go look inside to see what that looked like but forgot - whoops! We arrived just after opening on a Friday & there were a few groups already there. It was a bit awkward when they sat another party of 2 at the table right next to us because our conversation & their conversation was overlapping & easily heard. A bit of music on the patio might be a good idea. Dogs are allowed on the patio.
Just Okay: Food & Pricing
- Food: We had Brussels Sprouts, the Tradewind Burger (I think was the name) & the fried chicken sandwich. All were good, but not special, nothing to shout out to the rooftops. We mistakenly thought Brunch was being served, so we weren't really looking for Lunch, kind of had our hearts set more on their Breakfast-type items, so some of the disappointment was our own doing. The menu seemed somewhat limited in terms of protein. I believe we ordered the only 2 non-fish options on the menu.
- Pricing: Obviously was more expensive than I would've liked but it's a trendy SF restaurant so I expected nothing else.
Overall: Service & Ambiance are great! I would recommend with the condition that guests look at the online menu first to be sure there is something they want to eat during the time they're planning on going. Kind of common sense, yet somehow I messed this up, haha!
Incredible food and drinks and great service! We had a great time!
The alcohol in the punch bowl was weak but the food, service, and atmosphere were great.
