Pallet Ratings and Reviews
We enjoyed the best meal of our vacation at Pallet, before returning home to LA. The menu was varied and interesting, and every item we ordered fresh, flavorful and inventive. We started with the Full Board charcuterie and cheese which was delightful. We each thoroughly enjoyed our entrees - the bass was super tasty, and the scallops, the lamb and beef were exceptional. We’d been searching for a great restaurant in SLC, so glad we found Pallet!
Didn’t really get the romantic dinner I thought I would. The place gets pretty dark the way they have the lighting. So if you are looking for eye to eye communication it may be hard to do at most of the tables. The menu is pretty small, I believe there are only 8 options. Pretty pricey as well, and as for how the food tasted I wasn’t impressed. Service wasn’t bad.
We enjoyed a fabulous evening! We had an early reservation and ended up probably 2 hours of enjoying a marvelous evening of beverage, starters, entree's, and sweet finish. We normally end up in Portland for an evening like this, I told the kids they have got to come here next time!! If you have not been here, bring your wallet and enjoy Salt Lake's great food scene!!! We'll be back!
Absolutely amazing seeing elk on a menu, it brings a tear of happiness to my eye, this will definitely be a top choice for future dates. And I regret not getting our servers name because she was fantastic she had somewhat blonde hair and awesome glasses which appeared to be a jaguar print frames hope describing her can get that across to the owner and gm because she was an absolute gem, I had the elk which was phenomenal and my date had the bass which was also a delightful.
Every time I dine at Pallet the feeling is the same: great food and great service in a casual environment. The Truffle Yukon potatoes is a must. Everyone loves them. The same can be said for the meatball appetizer: moist, perfectly seasoned with a tinge of spice. Our group had the elk, scallops and sea bass. All of the dishes were phenomenal and the portions were perfect. The Tres Leches dessert is not a traditional rendition but we all agreed that it was delicious. Had 2 glasses of Albarino which complemented the meal well. Our waitress was polite and professional. Service was outstanding.
As always, a great experience. Esther, Ashley, Jessica, Bijan and Tyler always make us feel like VIP’s. We both had different off-menu specials, so a review of the particular dish wouldn’t help any readers. Suffice it to say that we both thought we got the better dish. Fantastic.
The restaurant is decorated with a cozy feel that is comfortable and unique. I like the use of antique(or at least antique looking) seats, table tops, and even old books. The food was good, but not the best I ever had. It is very pricey for the portion size, so I held the quality to a high standard. The cocktail menu (which was also quite pricey ) had good variety and featured some liquors I’d never heard of. The location was great as we were attending a comedy show at the Gateway and it was within walking distance. Our waitress was amazing and checked in with us just enough that our needs were promptly taken care of, but she was not obtrusive. She asked if we needed to be finished at a particular time which was helpful and didn’t rush us. The restaurant is small, so do as we did and make a reservation.
Third visit to this restaurant over three years. Has been consistent with ambiance and food and service was great until this last visit. Host/server Tyler (Princess Leia hairstyle) represents the worst of what diners often dislike about trendy , new American restaurants. Officious, cold and lacking in any customer service skills. Advice to owners; dump him because he does not match the rest of the wonderful team of waiters. We want to thank staff like Bijon, who immediately rectified the poor service and attitude we got and was so nice and accommodating to us. It was only because of this that we will keep us coming back.
Pallet surpassed my expectations and is headed to the top of my list for culinary ecstasy! You know when you put that first bite in your mouth and instantly you are taken aback by HOW GOOD IT TASTES??!!!....Yeah... that's what you get at Pallet. Pork belly- uh!mazing!!! The chicken- To.Die.For!
We love the new downtown restraunts and are always looking to try new places. This is one that we will not recommend to our friends and will not be coming back too. The service was good and the waiter spent 5 minutes explaining the full board meat and cheese plate that was over priced as it was good but not $29 good. Had some of the same meats and cheeses at Caputo's for much less. The wine was about $20-$23 a bottle wine that they charged $12-$14 a glass. Not impressed.
If you are looking for a place that creates amazing combinations of food, this is the best spot in SLC! We already had dinner here a couple of times, the menu changes seasonally with attractive choices of meals. We highly recommend Pallet to every food lover.
The food was underwhelming, the lamb was doused in seasoning that took away from the actual lamb itself, the potatoes could have been cooked more and the meatball was lukewarm. The ambiance was great and so was our server - would probably return and order a bit differently.
