Our highly experienced team is led by co-owners Esther Imotan and Chef Zachary "Buzz" Willey. The service, wine, cocktails and food are all equally attended to ensuring a top-notch experience each time you visit.
Service was excellent. The food was great. The noise level is high, even on the weekday
Loved everything about this place! Highly recommend
Pallet is always a great time with excellent food. We also love it when Rikki is our server. The decor is super cool and there's a feeling of warmth.
Thank you so much for dining with us and your kind words! We adore Rikki and we're so happy the feeling is mutual - we will make sure to pass the love along to her! We look forward to serving you again soon!
Been several times. I find they lack a consistent go to dish in terms of comfort food. On this occasion, both the Venison and Trout were disappointing. Otherwise it’s seems solid in most other ways.
Thank you for your business and providing your feedback - we apologize for leaving you underwhelmed! We are always striving to improve and we will make sure to pass your comments along to the kitchen. We hope you will give us the chance to make it up to you in the future!
Food and service was excellent. Vibe was cool. Only complaint would be the very small amount of meat on the pork shank I ordered
Thank you so much for your business and providing your feedback! We will pass your notes on the pork along to the kitchen - we hope you will give us the chance to serve you again soon and make it up to you!
The New Years menu and wine pairing were excellent. The pacing was perfect. The portions were more generous than I expected and the quality was even better. The mushrooms were amazing and the broth with them was something I want a lot more of in my life. The beef Wellington was perfectly cooked and the pan sauce complimented it amazingly. Everything was delicious and presented very well. Not a cheap meal but well worth it for the special occasion.
I have been on a couple of other occasions, once on a weekend and twice during the week, and the food is always great quality. The menu changes often so there is always something new to try. The flavors always work so well together. I don’t think they could make a bad dish if they tried. The cocktails are also made with care and attention and always taste great. Definitely one of my top 3 restaurants in Utah.
Hi Jacob - Thank you so much for celebrating NYE with us and providing your kind feedback! We will pass your kind words along the kitchen, they worked like crazy on this menu! We look forward to serving you in 2020!
I had heard how great Pallet was from a few friends but I felt underwhelmed with the meal. The NY Strip was tough and chewy despite having a great flavor and presentation. It felt like a dressed up Applebee's steak. I enjoyed the ambiance and service but spending $150+ for a dinner for two should mean that I'm impressed with my meal and my wife and I weren't. The appetizer was okay. The dessert wasn't great.
While smaller than expected, the Pallet’s unique (if somewhat sparse) decor and interesting menu does succeed in providing an American contemporary feel. The food is thought-out and makes a great place for a quiet evening.
Pallet is a go to for us for date nights. I took my mom there while she was visiting and she loved it! Great drinks, great small plates! We always enjoy ourselves at Pallet!
Absolutely lovely ambience, interesting and unique menu, spectacular wine. We had one issue with the meal that was resolved perfectly (it was the fault of the butcher, not the staff). I actually had a bite of food that I can easily call one of the finest food moments of my life. Jessica took excellent care of us and the overall customer service was phenomenal, which is not easy to find these days. We are so surprised that we hadn't even heard of Pallet before a friend recommended it this past week. We will be here again. Soon.
Disappointed at the choice of food selection compared to 2018 same period. Service was harsh. Good cocktail and delicious desserts. Next time I will check out the menu before coming.
This was our 2nd time at Pallet. The first time was not a good experience and yet I knew we needed to try again, and it had been quite some time. This time was better.
The food and service were overall, good, certainly in the upper echelon of Salt Lake dining. I had the venison that was nicely done, well plated and an excellent portion size-- a good value. My wife had the trout that she also thoroughly enjoyed, but in the dark she had a hard time seeing what she was eating. The cocktail I had was also quite good and unique. We also ordered one of the cheese boards and the cheese selection was top notch with ideal condiments. We rounded out the evening with the Meyer Lemon dessert that was an ideal portion size, light, flavorful, and well crafted.
On the negative, the noise level was high. The music was just a bit too loud and in the acoustically bight dining area one could hear all of the surrounding conversations as diners had to talk over the music and the noise of the surrounding tables. The dark rustic environment felt like it should be more quiet and comfortable. Tables in the center of the dining area are dark and right next to each other so you will be sitting close to other guests and enjoying their conversations, too. Tables around the periphery are more set apart and better lit. The low illumination in the center of the dining area had everyone using their phone flashlights to read the menu and not everyone takes care to avoid shining the light at others. Tables in the center of the room also get blasts of cold air whenever someone comes through the door.
Overall, an above good dining experience in this price range. I would go to Pallet again and next time request specific tables in my reservation.
Warm and cozy atmosphere and great food. The venison paired with a full bodied Cabernet was excellent!
First and foremost this was not our first visit to Pallet. We make a point to visit on our way through SLC as we fly out from Idaho. The menu on this visit was limited with no specials and none of the Wild game fare they regular offer. The music was load and not in synch with the season.
Service was and always is above par but our overall experience was not what we have come to expect. It will be awhile before we return.
We were seated in a table near the bar and there was no light. We had a single candle on the table which didnt give us enough light to read our menus. We had to use our phone flashlights to see the menus.
Very pricey for the portion sizes. The ribs only gives you two bones. The pork entree was good but it was a huge bone and very little meat. The meat and cheese charcuterie board was excellent, but overall we were disappointed.
We sat at a small table for 2 in the front corner. When the server would stand at the table next to us he was so close his backside was basically in our faces. Having that 5-6 times during dinner wasn’t pleasant. Love the place though! Food was better the last time we were there. NY strip was overpriced for the portion size and didn’t seem to be as flavorful as our steak last time. Would still recommend and go back.
DAAAAAANG...The food was incredible and Jessica was more than amazing, she made sure the evening was perfect!
Our server was absolutely incredible and had great suggestions on the food seeing as it was my first time visiting the restaurant. I had the scallops- talk about melt in your mouth delicious. The trout was spectacular also. The restaurant was decorated cute for Christmas and it smelt like pine which was a nice touch.
Too dark to read the menu. I ordered a veggie dish and about 60 percent of it was bulb onions. It was so dark I could not tell what I was eating ,only by taste. I was actually hungry when I left. Staff was great!
A personal favorite and top restaurant in SLC! Excellent food, ambiance, service and cocktails.
Our server was inattentive. I sent back the raviolo because it was cold and didn't get another before we had finished our other dishes. I said I wouldn't need the raviolo yet I was charged for it. Not really appropriate.
This is a perfect restaurant for a special occasion or nice dinner for any reason. The space is well-curated. The staff is engaged , knowledgeable, and pleasant. The wine and cocktail list are excellent. The food is uniformly well-done, unusual, and flavorful. My Mom and I try to have dinner here anytime we are in Salt Lake City. Thanks for making our trips special, Pallet!
Great food , service and intimate setting
Went on a weeknight for a business dinner. It was a great atmosphere, good selection of share ables and entrees. Very fun desserts, go with the Chocolate pot de creme. Will go back. Thanks for a great experience.
Visiting SLC and went to this restaurant based on Trip Advisor feedback. Best decision. The service was professional and prompt, the food ..delicious and the ambiance was inviting and very comfortable. Thanks trip advisor.
Excellent service with Dan and the food was beautifully presented and very tasty
Great relaxed fine dining. Food was awesome--my taste buds were stimulated in a way that I hadn't expirience before. Great service that always kept our drinks refilled without being annoying. The feel of the place was fun and mysterious. The expirience is well worth the price for a fine night out.
Friendly staff and delicious food
Amazing cocktails! The combination of ingredients in your plate is well done.
I was really impressed with Pallet, it has been on my list to try for several years and I am sorry I waited so long. It was just me and I sat at the bar. The barkeep was well versed in the wine menu and was able to appropriately point me in the right direction. I fell in love with the Raviolo, an expertly prepared ravioli filled with parsnip puree that swam in a light Parmesan brodo, topped with black truffle. And it was ONLY $14! I am used to that kind of up-charge for paper thin mandolin slices of black truffle, so to say it was a value was an understatement. I went for the Pork Shank in mole with lentils and sweet potato for my main. Fall off the bone tender (I cut it with my fork), and the mole was balanced and perfectly complimented the accompaniments. I really enjoyed the lightly pickled cauliflower that was on top. I was in a hurry so didnt have time for dessert, but I will certainly be back!
Amazing food and vibe! Thank you!
Food was on point! Unique and well conceived dishes had our attention right away. Very solid but small wine list. A bit noisy but very cool vide and decor. Staff was excellent especially our server, Rikki, who listened well and had complete command of the menu and made great recommendations.
Walking in, the restaurant had a funky smell. It smelled like cow manure. The smell was so strong that it took away from the ambiance of the location. It’s a beautiful building, beautiful decor... but the smell was bad.
Food was very good but very tiny portions. Not just small but Tiny. Especially for the price. Over Priced for what you get.
Atmosphere was fun and inviting. Service was slow, not enough help for need.
Great food and craft cocktails
The service was amazing and the ambiance was great but the food was very underwhelming. This was my second time here and the first time was much better, so I might be willing to try again some day.
Sophisticated and modern, farm to table. Excellent cocktails. Jessica was a fantastic server.
One thing I can always expect from the Pallet is consistency. This place is amazing. The food, the team, the atmosphere and the overall experience. I have been coming here for a few years now and I always look forward to the next time!
One of the city's best and perhaps most overlooked eateries, with excellent service, an innovative menu and notable mixology happening at the bar. Comfortable and casual ambience and a relatively small but creative dinner menu.
