Palio - Grand Rapids
Palio is named for the famous horse race that runs through Siena, Italy twice each year. The original Palio Ristorante in Ann Arbor, Michigan, founded in 1991, includes a record of the race's winners on a mural along the back dining room wall. However, Palio is certainly not a chain-restaurant. As a Mainstreet Ventures' distinctive eatery, each Palio brand retains similarities, however, each restaurant is unique in the menu, style, ambiance, food and décor. Palio in Grand Rapids is designed with an intensity that is as wild and colorful as the horse race itself!
Palio is open for both lunch and dinner, and features a happy hour with food and drinks specials.
mascarpone mousse, espresso soaked ladyfingers, shaved chocolate, brandy
Spaghetti di Zucca
spaghetti squash gratin
Fettuccine Alfredo Classico
cream, Parmesan, fresh al dente fettuccine pasta
My mom came into town and I knew I wanted to take her to my favorite restaurant, Palio! They did not disappoint. I always get their chicken mostarda dish. It is absolutely divine. We had Ana as our waitress and she was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The espresso steak was DELICIOUS as well. The garage doors were open which was great for our baby, who prefers the outdoors and was able to sleep soundly for the entirety of dinner. We can’t wait to go back again soon!
Home made pasta, delicious recipes, a strong wine list, great desserts. Perfect for a celebration night out.
(And outside seating!)
Service was impeccable and the food was exceptional!
Great dinner. Sangria was almost too good, lol. I avoid gluten and I wanted seafood. Chef allowed me to get creative.i ordered the chicken dish with the salmon. The complementary shot at the end of the meal is a nice touch. The highlight was the brussel sprouts, we could have had 2 orders!
We were thrilled with their service and quality of everything.
Loved the menu and everything we got. One of the steaks was a little overdone but all in all, it was a wonderful meal. Can't wait to go back!
Took friends, we all thought all was great! If you like Italian, I think you’ll like this restaurant!
I loved Palio the last time I went which was just a couple of weeks ago, so I chose to go there for my birthday dinner. I’m sorry to say I was not such a fan this time. My dinner seemed to have died under the lights while
Very nice staff. The egg noodles in the fettuccine were worth the carbs. Deffinatly will go back for another date night.
Excellent food, great server.
The small that they seated us in needs air fresheners because it is musty smelling
It was a good first experience here. Our server, Ana, was one of the best and friendliest servers my wife and I have experienced in all of our dining here in Grand Rapids.
The food was OK… I ordered the special which included lobster and shrimp and both of them were, unfortunately overcooked and resulted in a rubbery texture. The serving sizes are also on the smaller side. The tiramisu for dessert was what saved the rest of the meal… It was exquisite.
Service and pasta was excellent!
Great food, wonderful service!!!
Tired this for the first time about a month ago and I’ve already been back 3 times!! Love this restaurant so much! The food is delicious and you get a great bang for your buck!
Good. $8 for a piece of bread and oil was the only complaint. Main course excellent. Service good.
Decent food. Good service. As expected.
This was my first time going and I’ll be back. The food was very tasty.
The location was nice as it was in town but not downtown. It had a relaxing, more upscale vibe and the food was amazing.
Food was excellent. Service was excellent and I got 50% off the food portion since it was my birthday never had a restaurant offer such a good discount.
Christine was fantastic. No rush- attentive but not pushy. Great recommendations...
Wished they would have pulled up the garage door windows to let air in since outside seating was full!
We all had great meals and the bruschetta and corn cakes were awesome, too! We could tell you use very fresh ingredients. Will definitely be back.
We defiantly go back, we liked this place! the food and the service was great!
Food is always good and service is great!
Everything was great, service and food were outstanding.
My husband and I visited for the first time this week, and our experience was great! Our server, Allen, was excellent and the food was fabulous. We will definitely return in the near future.
food was pretty good but service and outdoor seating was amazing!
The food and service was very good ,no probably with parking either.
Each person in our party had different entrees they all loved, but i must say the Fettuccini Alfredo was the absolute best. Servers did an excellent job and were very helpful and attentive. Highly recommend.
We had great service, wine and food. Would definitely recommend checking them out since they’ve reopened.
They have a great happy hour. Calamari is amazing and so is their Bolognese! Definitely will be back!
Great, food was very good, nice small wine list with many by the glass.
They have a really good happy hour. Pizzas are really good. I would definitely return.
Awesome place!!! We will be coming back for more!!!
Husband and guests food was good. I had the carbonara and it had very weird shredded chicken in it. Very off putting. Tasted strange and was not very good. We were going to a play so I just picked it out but definitely wasn’t a good entree. Very nice server.
I highly recommend Palio - we will return. The whole experience was wonderful - excellent food and drink, enjoyable atmosphere, a server who was witty and responsive (anticipated our needs and wants, really).
Great experience, thoroughly enjoyed the hardworking and attentive wait staff, food was as expected and fantastic, he described the chicken Parmesan perfectly and I was excited to eat it. Shout out to the free limoncello shots to close the night as a promotion
I've heard of the restaurant and was excited to try it, but overall disappointing and a little overpriced.
We had a wonderful dinner and were very well attended by our server...we will return. It was a great birthday😁
