Great food and service, our server really took care of us. One of our dishes came very late so it was on the house. Food was amazing, would definitely return.

Palilgu is a neighborhood gem! The ambience, music, and overall vibe was just what we were looking for. The service is great, attentive and answered all the questions we had. The food, oh my goodness the food is delicious! Between 2 people we split the hamachi crudo, wagyu sliders, truffle fries, soy garlic chicken wings, and corn cheese. Each dish was perfectly portioned for sharing. We left feeling satisfied and very happy that we found a new spot we love. They offer a wide variety of beverages, our favorite being the Weak Hero a mocktail that included citron tea, lemon, boricha and pathfinder NA. Highly recommend you add Palilgu to your restaurant bucket list!

The tofu stew was good. Service was slow although restaurant wasn’t busy, very stingy on banchan, the room was very smokey - needs better ventilation.

Food was ok. We’ve had Korean food at other restaurants in Chicago that we enjoyed much more. Unfortunately, two of our party felt ill the rest of the night after eating here.

Tasty, elevated Korean fare that still hews to its humble origins. Generous portions and terrific craft cocktails. Smart ambience, with thought put into muted decor, lighting and sound levels. Only quibble is that the elevated experience is lost with flimsy napkins that don't hold up, and t-shirt unis. Fix those and Palilgu could easily charge more without affront. Will be back.

This place is a bit more style than substance unfortunately. First I will say the atmosphere is super nice and you can have an intimate meal here. Bibimbop advertised as having "classic banchan" should have classic banchan on the side. There was no kimchi, no pickled radish, nothing. The bulgogi beef used was advertised as wagyu, but came out thickly cut, chewy and sinewy. $26 is overpriced for what you get. The Tteokbokki is good, it's a nice shareable portion for 2. The cheese corn is decent. The seafood and scallion pancake is fine also, probably little overfilled with scallion but still tasty. Overall, there's better Korean food in the area for better value.

As a Korean I was very excited to try this restaurant and excited by the menu. Every dish/ drink I tried was great! -Bossam -Pancakes -Wings (Soy garlic) -Makku passion fruit makgeoli Great service and ambiance as well.
