Great service, beautiful environment ...stunning design.....i mean stunning only to be outdone by the cuisine. Best salmon I have ever had. One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had.
The best part of dinner was my glass of champagne, which came with a chilled glass. That was a wonderful touch! The dinner itself was mediocre at best. I ordered sushi, without the spicy mayo sauce, but the sauce came on top, with no apology. The server-assistant manager brough another sushi, but charged us for both, despite the fact that I stated in a very nice way, that we ordered the sushi without mayo. Otherwise, I was hoping to taste one of their famous dishes, watermelon wrap with tuna or salmon, but that was not available. The rest of the food was nothing to write home about, and a strange mixture of tastes. Mostly, I felt bitter about spending $100 each for two, splitting a couple of mediocre appetizers, dessert and one drink.
We really enjoyed our meal, the service, and the environment
Overall the food quality was quite good. We had the prime rib and Berkshire pork chop along with some appetizers
The Tater tots were pretty normal, nothing special. But the chicken liver spread was GREAT. Don't get bread service, the butter is better than the bread but the bread isn't particularly good.
I had a fly in my drink and was told I would get a replacement, we waited about 10 minutes before deciding "what the heck, we have other plans for tonight" and left. I'm not going to gripe about a drink on a busy night...but it was a bit of a bummer.
The filet mignon is always a must and one of the best I've had.
Really nice place, while we waited we had the option of grabbing drinks at the bar until they set up our table. There were valentines days specials and i ordered the lamb Wellington, which was disappointing because the lamb was quite dry and the majority of the dish was the pastry layer. The sauce was very good though and the service was outstanding. For the price i would’ve expected something cooked to a certain standard especially on a special night out. Could just have been that plate specifically, because the bread service and the sea bass we ordered for the table was delicious. I would still recommend going to Paley for the history, they have a projector playing old CBS reruns that make for a fun conversation starter. Definitely would go back for drinks!
Love this place... friendly service, big varied menu, and great cocktails.
Amazing food prep and presentation. The beet salad was divine and unlike any other I've ever had. Highly recommend Paley for tastes, ambiance, and overall vibe. Can't wait to get back again!
Ancient grain salad was amazing! The Ragu pasta was really good and it was a hit with my husband. Tofu Tots were very good, disguised as healthy.
We dined at Paley before seeing Pink at the Hollywood Palladium. The proximity to the Palladium can’t be beat. The ambiance is a city buzz, like you’d find in NYC. The food is great. The service wonderful and the bar scene was cool hangin’ while waiting for the rest of our party to arrive. Paley has a nice outside seating area that’s great for a warm night or a chilly night under the heaters. Parking in the building is easy. It’s our go to place now when we are looking for civilized chic in Hollywood.
We usually like Paley. But this evening had its problems. The noise level was very high. I would suggest not going too soon after offices let out, especially on Friday. The kitchen was quite slow in getting out our food, which was fine when it arrived, but undermined by annoyance at the wait. Our waitress was fine, but of course had no control over these details and continually apologized. I'd still recommend Paley, but be forewarned about time and other issues.
I've eaten at Paley many times, and though it's often very good there's always something wrong either with the food or service. This time it was the food: after a pointed conversation with the waitperson about my difficulty in getting a medium rare steak when I order medium rare--results range from medium to well done--she assured me that Paley indeed cooks medium rare steak medium rare. So when my steak arrived medium, I sent it back--and then had to wait for a new one while my friend's dinner got cold because he wouldn't eat without me. The second steak was delicious, as was our dessert (matcha donuts with a chocolate custard), but the evening never recovered. I think Paley should be truthful and say, "If you want it medium rare, order it rare because our line cooks are incapable of turning out a rare steak."
Always love it here, food much improved.
We had a great table, delicious food items and attentive service.
First: We had to wait for our table for 40 minutes at lunchtime on a workday. If you can't accommodate the guest, don't accept the reservation.
Second: Steak should neither be the color nor have the consistency of cardboard.
Third: If you add ginger to your baby kale salad that has beets, goat cheese, walnuts and arugula, list it.
Fourth: Don't add ginger to your baby kale salad that has beets, goat cheese, walnuts and arugula. There is no reason for it. It is bad.
I would have returned that inedible salad and gotten something else if it were not for my "First" criticism, which allowed no time.
I will not be back.
It was nice.
One of the best Caesar salads I have ever had. Barbecued carrots - who knew they would be amazing. And a chicken worth ordering. Delicious. I will make the drive from the South Bay for dinner again. Worth the trip. And what a gorgeous room. Hollywood Glamour with fabulous food.
After a previous lunch date, my second trip to Paley. was for a New Year's Eve dinner. The restaurant boasted an exquisite menu (my date and I opted for the dungeness crab louie for a starter, fresh lobster with squash spaghetti and heart of palm for the entree and an orange cake for dessert) and a low-key, romantic ambience. No matter the event, Paley. caters to all.
Very nice on every level. We ate there before seeing a show at Pantagas.
Amazing restaurant! Great room and ambiance. Excellent attentive staff. Tasty drinks and delicious food. Highly recommended.
The popcorn ice cream is incredible! Service was awesome. Nice selection of wine splits.
I love this place and it’s my eastside go to restaurant !!!
The Host Desk was very warm & friendly. Loved all the genuine smiles.
Appetizers took 30+minutes (at lunch time!). The drink order was wrong and took a long time to be corrected. Some food was well prepared (opah), some terrible (grain bowl). Waiter wasn't attentive at all. Gorgeous interior, but for that amount of money, you would do better just about any place else in town.
great food and great atmosphere. staff is friendly and attentive. great spot !
Very elegant and the food is amazing!
The Caesar salad was one of the best I’ve ever had
The service and food was just outstanding
Food is very average. Price is very high for quality and blend served food. We had two burgers and one salad and bill came to $84. Salad was plain. Nothing to brag. Service very poor. Overall not worth the $$
Very nice restaurant, comfy seating and lovely outdoor patio area. Good food, well prepared and fast service. Servers are very attentive and well informed. Great for meeting for a drinks/appetizers, etc. Bar is good for happy hour. Very lively. Studio crowd as it is near the Viacom, Netflix, Paramount, Hollywood entertainment biz. Food was very delicious and good drinks. I would recommend to a friend. Will go again..
Very slow and relatively inattentive service. Tool foreeeever to order our food. And the restaurant was empty.
Waiter was nice, though! But we felt largely ignored.
My biggest gripe is the prices. $21 for at most 3 oz of sushi grade tuna, $36 for scallops entree that consisted of 3 scallops. This place makes Katsuya look like a bargain.
Paley is very attractive and I would probably go back if I lived in the neighborhood . Food was generally good. Poke bowls had tasty ingredients though the rice was too cold . Carrots with ricotta were unusual and delicious ; Brussels sprouts just OK. Service was rather slow and perfunctory. Not a destination restaurant .
Good service and good environment， and will consider to go again.
Food was good, service was not. Server wasn’t very attentive, which meant slow on reordering drinks as well as our main course. Dinner sides came out late or not at all. Management was apologetic. It would not have been that bad but we told them we had a show to get to. In the end we were rushed and it made the experience less enjoyable.
Fantastic for before-theater dining. Delicious flavors
Food took forever
I wanted to bring an out of town business colleague to a nice spot in Hollywood that wasn't too "Hollywood" and full of brash noisy people. Paley was an excellent choice. Wonderful cocktails that taste wonderful and are not just sugar bombs. From the moment we were greeted to the end of the meal the service was outstanding. The food was excellent and our waiter did a really wonderful job of answering questions and helping us decide on what would be a good dinner for us. I highly recommend Paley for lunch and/or dinner. The price is good for the location too which is another plus!
