Food was excellent. You had a great selection of fine dining and my 23 year old son found a great steak meal. Waiter was wonderful and knew the menu. I tried something out of my comfort level and it was very tasty and perfect amount.
We were not hurried to finish our meal and my son and I had a very nice visit. I would suggest this as a place to go and enjoy a very nice lunch. I always go to Pallets when I visit the Denver Art Museum. A nice place to have lunch with friends and family.
The lemon ice box cake is always THE BEST - need more than one piece
All main dishes were great but desserts were extremely disappointing.
Very convenient when visiting the DAM. Easy to make reservations; good service and food.
Palettes is a wonderful place to eat while visiting the museum. Fine food, beautiful presentation worthy of the art museum setting.
Met friends after the Star Wars Costume Exhibit to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. The food was great, as always, and the service was spot on as well. Our friend's had never been here and were very impressed.
The foods was superb and my husband order a dessert to share which Palette's comped!
Thank you Palette's for another terrific memorable dining experience.
I always enjoy going to Palettes. The food is consistently scrumptious and the wait staff is superb!
I usually enjoy dining at Palettes because it means I've been at the Denver Art Museum and I am ready to relax and sift through thoughts of what I viewed. This time was no different. I love this restaurant for a leisurely lunch. The food is always fresh, and the menu offers a good variety of dishes. The Asian Chicken Salad I had was crisp with a tasty dressing (but not too much) and a succulent chicken breast. Service was great. I arrived a little early for my reservation, but even though it was still during the busy lunch hour they were able to accommodate us. I know I'll continue to come back.
I loved the look of this restaurant. The staff is very accomodating and friendly. Three of our party ordered the sea bass special and all thought delicious and the sauce was wonderfully piquant. Asparagus spears and I can't remember the name of the other vegetable served with this, but looked and tasted like mild green cauliflower. The fourth member of our group ordered the sweet potato tortellini with beet sauce which she loved. Our plates were beautifully presented. Good relaxed service. A little on the pricey side but definitely worth another visit.
We came for Valentine's Day and our anniversary. We were delighted in every way with the ambiance, service, food, and music. The atmosphere is quiet and we were actually able to have a conversation. A Kevin Taylor classic, well priced, delicious. We can't wait to return.
A foodies menu without the pretense. Attentive service without being annoying. Classical background music so you can have a conversation. Wonderful.
Food and service were excellent. Atmosphere is extremely quiet at dinner. Not very appealing to younger crowd. Probably best at lunch/brunch.
The food is always good at Palettes. This time I finally had to flag down the Maitre D to get wine and appetizers after about 20 minutes of being completely ignored by our waiter. He was fine after he got to our table. The shrimp enchiladas were very good as were the vegetarian mist and meatballs. Enjoyed the lemon dessert in particular.
Classy place for a classy brunch! My wife and I enjoyed a delightful brunch before we made a leisurely walk through the Denver Art Museum. The pleasant setting, open and bright decor and tasty menu reminded us of the many charming restaurants adjoining museums throughout Europe! The menu and service were excellent!!!
We really enjoyed the shrimp and grits benedict. There were a couple of problems though. I only got 2 very small shrimp. My friend didn't get much chorizo on his plate. They must have rushed in the kitchen. Loved the bread. We each had a blackberry mimosa. The name is great. Tasted horrible. Never get that!
Our appetizers were the surprise hit of the meal. Both the ahi tuna poke and the grilled flatbread with fig marmalade were outstanding. Our entrees were good too, but the apps were what we'll remember from this meal.
Palettes is the perfect museum dining experience. Excellent ambiance, varied tasty food choices, responsive but not pushy service. Food is freshly prepared and seasonal.
We are at this restaurant several months ago and enjoyed it. Unfortunately this time the lunch menu wasn't as interesting as before, nor was the food as well prepared. The "bottomless" sparkling rose was quite good.
This is a very special place whether you visit the DAM or not. Wonderful food and outstanding service in a bright, cheery atmosphere.
Had a great brunch with friends before going to the museum. Staff was attentive, manager was visibly available and supporting the staff during our entire visit, food was DELICIOUS! I love coming to Palettes and am rarely disappointed in the experience!
A favorite day for us is checking out the latest exhibit at the DAM followed by a creative, tasty lunch at Palettes. This restaurant is consistently good with unusual dishes artfully presented. The wait staff are always helpful and efficient. Don't miss the roasted corn soup to start!
Food options were good, however portions were quite small. Drinks (iced tea) were never refilled. They brought out the wrong meal for one of us, and my food was lukewarm. They have nice big windows and the room is nice and clean. Great location if you are going to the Art Museum, otherwise, I'd choose someplace else to eat.
Palettes is great for food, convenient and beautiful ambiance, terrific for downtown with out of town guests and friends special occasion along with a trip through the Museum. A variety of menu choices for lunch. Great view of outside. Only criticism is that it is a bit noisy. But do love it anyway.
Good but not as good as it has been. Hope DAM WILL KEEP IT OPEN IN FUTURE.
LOVE Palettes! Every time we go to DAM we have lunch and we have never been dissappointed.
Always a treat!
Very disappointed to hear that Palettes will be closing. It has been a favorite spot for lunch or dinner when we come to the Art Museum. Always have had great food and service. It will be missed.
Lovely place to catch up while enjoying great company, fabulous food and a tour of the exhibits. The service is always great.
Always excellent service - friendly and helpful. Good bloody Mary's. Quiet and attractive decor. Soups are usually very good. Entrees vary in quality. I had the tamales recently and they were very good but the enchiladas were not as good. Could not taste the rock shrimp at all. The pork schnitzel was blah. The Star Wars themed dessert we had a couple of weeks ago was rich and tasty. Love to go to Palettes when we are visiting the Art Museum.
Part of the Denver Art Museum. Just the place for before or after taking in one of the galleries. Wonderful ambience, great service.
Excellent food, beautiful décor - we did have a reservation and were sat right away, but had to wait for a hour to get our food. Otherwise, the service was ok. They seemed to be very busy because of the holidays.
We did enjoy our lunch with 2 of our grandchildren. A couple recommendations:
More parmesan with the Mac and Cheese
The grilled chicken was over cooked with the Mac and Cheese
Brought the entire family for a holiday get-together, perfect spot before and after walking through such a beautiful museum!
Went right after the Star Wars Art of Costume at DAM. THEY HAD A FEW SPECIALS JUST FOR THE OCCASION, nice wine selection and food was delicious with good variety. We had the club sandwich, burger, the eggplant stack and the Tuna Nicoise salad. All delicious, good portions and delicious fries!
Pleasant surprise to find such good menu and drink pairings available in such a convenient setting for DAM outings with friends.
We love coming to Palettes. We only ever seem to make it if we're viewing a show at the Art Museum. I think we should go more often. Our only issue today was that we seemed to catch them with a service issue (maybe short staffed)? Our waiter started out great, until he was gone and seemed to be supervising the food coming out of the kitchen. So we had the guy who was busing tables help us out. Then a woman showed up who seemed to possibly be our waitress. We weren't sure, but we stuck with her and it worked out great. I know the rule is to never tell the customer your problems, but when there is a staff change and there might be a service gap, it's OK. Share that info! In the end, the food was fabulous and it all worked out. And I'll still go back--it's a fun venue!
Great place to eat when you are visiting the Denver Art Museum. Reserve a table by the window for people watching.
The food was good. My husband had the carrot cake French toast .. yummy! I had the shrimp and grits and my son had the gourmet grilled cheese with soup. Unfortunately, his sandwich was not freshly made and as a result.. not hot. We never send food back for fear of what may come back. So sorta spoiled his lunch . One of the best Bloody Mary in town!
We had a noon meal at Palettes on a Saturday. Both brunch and lunch were offered. We had the salmon, the corned beef with eggs, the shrimp and grits and the mushroom tamales. Everything was tasty an beautiful to look at. Service was friendly an efficient. They have a good bloody Mary and the bottomless mimosas go well with the food. Nice break in the middle of browsing through the art museum.
I just love eating here It never fails to be a delightful experience and the food is always terrific.
I especially love when they create a menu and wine pairings for a specific exhibition at the museum. The DAM is an exceptional art museum and this restaurant is a perfect pairing to go with it
I have brought many friends to Palettes for lunch and we always have a great time. The wait staff is superb.
