Denver loves this restaurant and everything about it.
LOVE the presentation. LOVE the food.
I'm usually a meat eater, but the veggie plates were so delicious. The price is also very reasonable. The food were pieces of art. Colorful and yet so tasty.
From my experience, the better it looks, the worse it tastes. But this is not the case. I will be coming back!
One of my favorite restaurants... so sad they are being forced to close. Only wish we could count on them coming back after the museum project is over.
Great as usual-sad to see them go due to DAM construction
Family visiting town
Wonderful menu, lovely ambiance, wonderful service and fabulous food. One of my favorite places to eat. I'm going to miss you Palettes!!! Thank you for the happy memories!!
Delicious food, lovely setting and amazing service, thank you Robert!
This is a very pleasant space at the Denver Art Museum-chic, comfy and artsy. We definitely enjoyed our lunch but .... I may have ordered the wrong thing but the wild mushroom tamales were very disappointing. The masa shell was nearly an inch thick and bland of course. While the sauce was tasty, there was no way one could eat this much plain cornmeal. And the mushroom filling got completely lost. My husband enjoyed his pork schnitzel.
We were having lunch with another couple who were celebrating their wedding anniversary. The restaurant surprised all four of us with some wonderful mimosas! All the food we ordered was very good and the service was excellent. Great place to enjoy food and conversation.
Palettes is a must if you visit the Denver Art Museum. Comfortable setting, excellent service, creative menu and food that's always topnotch.
Very pleasant white tablecloth dining with reliably good food. My short ribs were a bit heavy-handed and they shouldv be ashamed to serve what they call hot tea, but overall a good place to eat in the museum/library neighborhood.
Great place for before or after the art museum, always good service
Our waitress was disappointing in that when we asked about food recommendations she just said it was all good. A little further embellishment beyond the menu descriptions would have been helpful. We ended up ordering the soup and 1/2 sandwich which was fine but nothing outstanding. We later saw some other intriguing plates go by, but with no guidance from the waitress we played it safe.
We've eaten here twice and it was excellent both times. Kevin Taylor is a great chef. My brother worked for Wolfgang Puck at Spago's as a chef, so I know good food. Great service. A wonderful accompaniment to a visit to DAM.
Palettes at the Denver Art Museum the perfect place for a business luncheon.
Wonderfully diverse menu options, consistent superior quality food and service.
A first class experience start to finish!
Very nice experience. Great place to bring out of town guests.
Palettes is one of my favorite Denver lunch restaurants, especially with it location in the Denver Art Museum. It's so sad that this architecturally beautiful space, with its always exquisite food will be closing in September. This will be a great loss for the Art Museum. So sad to see it go.
Great for combining with a museum visit and meeting friends. Like the view from the corner table. Server was very good. Food was delicious. Sorry to hear the restaurant is closing, but will look forward to the new offering.
We always end up here before or after seeing a Museum Exhibit. Love the menu. Tie the menu to the exhibit usually. I had the pork green chili, grilled cheese and fries. Very good. Service is prompt and friendly. Good place to meet friends .
Palettes is my favorite place to have lunch in Denver. There are many tasty selections on the menu. I am partial to the salmon salad. The tables are spaced nicely so you don't have to listen to your neighbor's conversation and the service is professional. There is convenient parking in the Denver Art Museum Garage. Relax and enjoy a great meal.
Always love having lunch here --- menu is great and food is always wonderful as well as the service --- understand it will be closing in September for the museum remodel - it will be sorely missed.
I'm a Denver native who's been to the Museum and Palettes many times. A friend moved to Denver recently and knows no one outside her family. It was my pleasure to introduce her to Palettes and The West exhibit, and she's an enthusiastic visitor now. She'll be bringing her family to the museum and definitely to the restaurant. The prices are reasonable, the service is professional, and the ambiance is delightful.
As a member of DAM, I always look forward to my drive from Boulder for a day at the Museum seeing the wonderful exhibits. I wouldn't go without lunch at Palette's! It makes the day!
Delightful luncheon that was artistically presented. Eggplant gateau was crisp and not at all oily or heavy. Seafood cioppino was equally enjoyable.
It is a great place for friends to meet for lunch - close to everything downtown! The food is tasty and has a variety of food choices including vegan and gluten free.
We went to see The Western at the DAM. The show was great!! Then we had lunch at Palettes. The service is wonderful. The food was good. Will be sad that they'll be closed during construction. Hopefully they'll be back when the project is complete.
Always delicious. A major go-to in Golden Triangle.
Nice setting. Prompt service. No printed menu of nonalcoholic drinks or beer choices. Lemonade was delicious.
Food was fine but not memorable.
A group of three of us all had salads for lunch. The oriental chicken salad was especially good; it had good texture and the dressing was tasty but not overwhelming. The service was attentive, but not cloying. The dessert (a blackberry crisp) was very good. I've had other meals that displayed more of the chef's acumen; the salads were good, fresh, and I'd have it again, but nothing extraordinary.
Enjoyed the food! Service great and nice to have such an upscale restaurant attached to the museum.
As always - very good. Asian salad was perfect. Would be nice if the turkey sandwich was presented better. Looked like it was intended for old ladies!
A visit to the gallery is enhanced by dining at Palettes. Impeccable service, diverse menu, and pleasant surroundings can be counted on. Both my grandson and I always find something delicious to eat: my favorite, a seasonal soup or a fresh salmon salad; my grandson's, a grilled cheese sandwich and fries. They even create special menus to coordinate with shows!
Hear it's closing due to museum construction. Bring it back! We need it at the art museum.
I have always been very happy with all aspects of this restaurant until this last visit. Our waiter was really not attentive and when there was an issue with the food safety of a dish he said that the manager refused to speak with me and he could not remove it from the bill. The lack of food safety knowledge and lack of accountability on their part forced me to contact the health department to file a formal report. I'm not sure if care is no longer being put into service or quality because they are closing and they don't feel like they need to uphold standards or if it's a separate issue but I wouldn't recommend going there.
Went for lunch on July 4. The corn soup and bacon/cheese rigatoni pasta was the best we've had in Denver.
The staff when we visited was preparing for a large event and so service was erratic but the food was as always terrific and Palettes is one of the quietest Denver restaurants. Important to me since we lunch to converse!
I found the ingredients fresh, perfectly flavored and I was in a group of 5, they all agreed with what I felt about the food and service.
We love Sunday brunch at Palettes before we go to see the latest exhibition at the Denver Art Museum. So convenient. Our server, Javier, was outstanding!
We had the mushroom tamales. They had way too much masa and little flavor. A poor showing for our out of state family. Loved the museum!
We had a wonderful birthday celebration. Food was wonderful and service even better. I would highly recommend especially before or after visiting the museum.
