As a regular customer, the experience at Palette 22 is always great. The staff/managers make it a point that we are well taken care of throughout the visit.
Great brunch! It gets busy quick so reservations are recommended.
The food was wonderful. It was loud inside, which one would expect at noon on a Sunday. Even though we had a reservation, we had to wait 15-20 minutes for our table. They were quite busy.
Never disappoints. Great food. Best brunch in the DMV.
We went to Palate-22 for my birthday with my mom (visiting from Maine), my in-laws, my husband, 14 y.o son, and I. You order 2 small plates each; the food shows up when it is ready (no particular order), and then everyone shares it around the table (at least we did). It was a lot of fun. Gives you a chance to try all kinds of different flavors. We ordered 12 different plates and everything was delicious. The flash-fried brussel sprouts were the biggest hit, and I loved the sweet potato min tacos. I suggest this restaurant is best for groups of 4-8 who know each other quite well. You are sharing food, after all, so not good to do with new acquaintances. If you go with just 2 people, you don't get to share many dishes (4 will probably fill you up), so a moderate sized group is best. They play fun music (80s, 90s, current) and there are a lot of hard surfaces, so it is pretty loud. Not a good place for an intimate dinner or for private conversations. There is usually an artist working in the corner, whom you are encouraged to go talk to. All the art on the walls is for sale. It is a fun, funky dinner spot. Would definitely go again.
Was ok. Of all the dishes that could’ve been delayed, it was my son’s chicken fingers. They comp’d that dish without me asking which was good
Definitely would recommend! Different flavors come together. All you can eat food for a good price!
Food was good! Our server was inattentive and a bit rude. Prices have gone up a good bit.
Brunch is a a wonderful deal. All the food options are delicious and the portions are generous for tapas. I highly recommend Palette 22.
Great food and great atmosphere. Cant beat the happy hour. Was upbeat and good for our large party with 4 kids!
Always a great experience. Excellent servers and bartenders. Very fresh and good food. The taco bar is awesome!
Friendly, fast, efficient staff. Unique, delicious menu items. Great value.
I've been going to Palette 22 frequently since it opened and generally enjoy it. However, I feel like over time the prices have crept up and the portion size has crept down. I have been going less often than I used to, and if it becomes much more expensive I'll definitely start choosing other Shirlington restaurants instead.
Palette 22 is a fun place for dinner. Not fancy, but casual and good food. They use small plates from a variety of cultures, and all of the ones we tried were tasty. I can particularly recommend the Hong Kong fried calamari, tacos vampiros, and street corn. We ordered cocktails followed by sangria, both of which were fine with the meal. The wine list isn't fancy but reasonable, and there's a good beer selection. Service was excellent. We'd be happy to come again and try a few more dishes. With small plates, the adventure is there and you aren't risking your platinum card in the process.
We were invited to dinner at a friends, and spoke about our brunch at Palette 22, and she and a friend went the next morning.
We went with a group of 20. Eclectic menu and everything we had was very good. Would definitely recommend this place.
Every plate we sampled was wonderful - fresh and delicious. The service was great too. The piped in music was too loud though. We went at 1230 and the restaurant wasn't too crowded since it was later in the lunch hour.
It was Mardi Gras, so the bartender made us some excellent Sazeracs. We followed with "vampire" tacos, (excellent). poke tacos (only okay), Caesar salad (excellent), roasted Mexican street corn (fun), and shrimp Creole (very good). the only issue was getting a waiter to take our order in the first place, but the maitre d' straightened that out.
Despite the extra wait when I had a reservation. It was worth the wait! U can not beat bottomless brunch for $26.22... food was spot on and service was great! Will return definitely
Food was amazing and service was exceptional.! Definitely on my top list.
Best Brunch in Arlington, VA. Tons of options and nothing was an after thought.
This is an awesome place for brunch! The reason for the 4 stars is the noise level. It’s difficult to carry on a conversation, but the food is good and there is a wide variety of choices.
Amazing brunch we will definitely be back!
If you're looking for someplace "different", this is a great spot. Huge bar area that never feels overly crowded. Good food and interesting cocktails.
Great atmosphere and food! I will definitely go back!
Food was great, service a little slow. Too loud if you try to have a conversation. They should Keep it moderate.
Love Palette 22! It's fun to see the artwork and the artists at work and I like the small plates. Yummy!
Had been to Palette for dinner, but this was my first brunch. Definitely great value, delicious food and experience. Only complaint is the noise level inside makes conversation challenging. But I will still be back, especially for brunch. Reservations recommended - it was busy!
This place is delicious. Our waiter quinton was fun and attentive- knowledgeable too! The bottomless brunch let us taste a multitude of delicious ethnic foods. Can’t wait to come back.
Great menu, lots of great selections! Just be inquisitive if you aren't into spicy/hot stuff. A few of the dishes have heat when you don't expect it. Best to ask your server if you are sensitive to spicy!
Very fun atmosphere with good happy hour. The ahi tuna “poke” tacos are fantabulous 👌🏻
We had such an awesome server for Valentine’s Day- loved our experience.
We enjoyed the food, the presentation of the food, the nonalcoholic beverages, and the art work. Tacos they made were superb! Service was very efficient and waitress helped us nicely as first time visitors. Went for Valentines Day, and because the tables are close together, and with a full bar in room next to us, it was noisy, reducing ambiance.
Had a reservation with 2 and had arrived a little late due to traffic and parking but was seated with no wait time. Our server was excellent. She answered any questions we had about the menu in detail and was very attentive. I recommend trying out the Passport feature. Great value and fills you up for being small plates. I would definitely come back.
Would still recommend since my other experience was positive. This was Valentine's night and the kitchen was not prepared. Wait staff was great and not at fault. Primary objection was they did not handle allergies well. They brought a flatbread with garlic to my husband although he had specified he was allergic. Not the wait person's fault however, just a mix up in the kitchen. Also, some of the food was cold but they quickly brought out another batch. All in all they were trying but just overwhelmed.
Not a bad option in Shirlington for a light meal. Not overwhelming. Dishes were mixed in quality- some better than others. While they say they are small plates, two of us shared 3 plates total and it was plenty of food. I'd probably go again but with a larger crowd and just plan for drinks and a range of dishes rather than a big meal.
Dining at Palette 22 was amazing due to the excellent customer service from the server. In addition, the food and drinks were delicious as usual!
Delicious lunch and nice atmosphere. We recommend Brussels Sprouts, watermelon salad, fish tacos and mini sliders with pimento cheese. We will return!
I loved this place! It was A random pick for a work dinner. It was cozy and kitschy with all the cool art (for sale) on the menu. Everything was tasty but the crispy Brussels sprouts were the best ever. I am definitely going back.
