At Palermo Restaurant our mission is clear and precise .. We like to think of our guests as visitors to our humble kitchen…our home, where we welcome you as we do our family and closest friends. Relax, sit back, and allow our family to take you on a delectable adventure, not so far away from your own home. Benvenuti…and Enjoy!
This was a second visit to this restaurant. Comfy atmosphere; it’s as if you’re in the living room of a good friend’s house. The Grilled Lamb Shops were delicious. Portions are not too big to not able to finish your meal, but not too smal to leave still hungry. Service was very good, although the butter for the bread we asked for was never brought, but most likely because waiters were very busy. Understandable and forgivable. That will not stop us to dining there again.
In summary: "very nice". Good food, ambiance and service. Palermo is spotlessly clean and very nicely laid out, even having outdoors dining. And, an extra for those of us without cars, a few steps from a Q69 bus stop!
I was a bit disappointed overall. The restaurant is lovely, nice outdoor space as well as pretty indoors; large and quite spacious. My food was fair at best. The eggplant parm was so overly breaded and thickly fried that it was impossible to taste the eggplant. I asked if it was thin sliced before ordering and I was told yes. It was not thin at all. We would not go back.
My boyfriend and I enjoyed the food 100% but our food took over a hour to come out the kitchen. When we was seated it took our server over 15 minutes to greet us. I would definitely go again just a different server.
Brought my family in after the holidays on Dec 26th to have dinner. Palermo has great traditional Italian food options. I got the cheese ravioli with pistachio sauce, which was fabulous. It's even better with the grilled chicken, which is super simple but very flavorful. Everyone else enjoyed their meals of baked ziti and rigatoni. I definitely recommend this place for great Italian food in Queens!
First impression was that of a nice and family oriented restaurant. However after sitting down, it took the waiter over 20 minutes before coming over before even taking a drink order. Never even got a glass of water. Definitely felt ignored especially after he walked by several times. Became a little more attentive after ordering a bottle of wine but not enough to make up for it. Too bad as my fiancé and I were planning on have a rehearsal dinner there but the service or lack there of in the beginning left a lot of doubt in my mind. The food was good as I had the chicken parmigiana with a side of penne a la vodka. She had the spaghetti and meatballs. If only the service was better.
