Food was average at best.....

Dinner salad was aweful, entree was lukewarm, dessert was ok ! Definitely was disappointed. I ate here years ago and it great ! Was looking forward to trying it again, but food has really gone downhill.....

Best restaurant we’ve been to in New Orleans, so far. Great food quite noisy.

One of the nicest servers I’ve ever met, Nikki is really sweet helpful and upbeat- she seemed to genuinely love the food and brightening tourists’ days.

I asked for a special “off menu” half portion of pain perdu (French bread French toast with fresh berries and chopped pecan-caramel-bourbon sauce) cause I also wanted shrimp n grits - delicious in a mushroom scallion somewhat spicy brown sauce , grits nice and cheesy and stone grown artisan quality.... also orange juice is fresh squeezed. The pain perdu by the way was really delicious and if I hadn’t gotten full I literally would have spooned rest of sauce ...(barely restrained myself). Seriously considering returning tomorrow

The vibe is charming laid back and casual but elegant (totally worth walking a few blocks vs insipid hotel restaurant options where I’m staying)

Our party of six had the catfish with pecan sauce and the duck which were just average dishes. Two of us ordered the andouille crusted fish which was unfortunately just not good at all. The star of dinner was the fried oyster appetizer and the only item I would recommend. Maybe we were there at an off time at the end of the day but there’s too much consistently good food in New Orleans to waste a meal here.

The food was not very good and it seemed like they rushed us in and out. Not many items to pick from, the gumbo didn't taste good and the fish special seemed like to was just thrown on a plate.

Unfortunately we did not really enjoy our meal that much. It took 25 minutes to get cocktails and they even brought our appetizers before the drinks arrived. The manager picked up our first round of drinks but the tone was set. Most enjoyed their appetizers but their fish of the day was off the mark and the duck was served cold.

Sitting on Canal street eating is a fun experience, especially when the food is so good. We were three people: one chose the breakfast buffet, and the others off the menu. All the food was excellent and the service great.

Food was bland and dessert took forever to arrive. Even though we had a wait “team” our head waiter seemed preoccupied most of the night.

A bit noisy with decent food. It wasn’t great for the comparable restaurants in the area. Location was great and staff was excellent so overall it was a good New Orleans dinner.

Came after dinner elsewhere for dessert...bananas foster table-side can't be beat! Great location right on Canal Street is the gateway to the French Quarter. Great staff--makes every visit feel like a special occasion.

The crabmeat cheesecake was knee slappin’ good !! You’ve gotta try it!! Our server, Dria, was an absolute doll. She recommended the special soup of the day, shrimp bisque...another knee slappin’ good dish. 5 stars for the food and service!!!

The food was good, service was ultra rushed. We went at 9pm with a reservation, they must have closed at 10. They rushed us and took food away and dropped bills before we finished. I would go again but just brunch perhaps.

The food was definitely the best part! We went for brunch and it was awesome with the jazz band walking around serenading the tables. The alcohol was over priced, but I’m not surprised. Our server was somewhat slow in getting the orders and drinks started, but it was a busy time at the restaurant. Overall, very good! I’d definitely go again.

Enjoyed a great meal at Palace Cafe during the Saturday Jazz Brunch. The atmosphere was amazing! Food was decadent and delicious, with a Bloody Mary bar serving infused vodka.

Our server Allison was a treat and when we go back, we'll ask to sit in her section.

We were greeted with a terse "How many?" I told them of our reservation for 1130 lunch.
There were no smiles, nothing to welcome us to a fantastic Birthday lunch experience.
We were lead to our table across carpet littered with street debris and remnants left by past diners.
Our waiter recited the specials and took our drink orders.
Bread and butter was delivered with our drinks. There was no knife in one of the napkin rollups.
The crab cheesecake had a fishy aftertaste.
The andouille crusted gulf fish was okay but the farm vegetables were some overcooked and undercooked.
In the restroom there was a roll of toilet paper on the corner of the sink to dry your hands as there were no paper towels.

My husband and I really enjoyed the whole dinner experience here. As tourists we didn’t know what to expect but based on prior reviews we decided to try it for dinner. We Loved everything!! Our wait staff had Josephine for drinks and Jessica for our food order. They were both amazing and knowledgable on everything on the menu. Our rum drinks were delicious and my catfish was cooked just right with enough spice to give a great flavor. The pecans were seasoned just right as well to go with the catfish and were very crispy. All in all a great experience and highly recommend this place.

My fiancé, parents, and I came to New Orleans on vacation the Palace Cafe was recommended as a place to come. Our server Devon was great but that is basically the best I can say. We had selected a few appetizers off of the menu to share. When ordering we were told one of them, the eggplant, was not available because the chef did not want to make it. Then when ordering the main entree my fiancé duck came out wrong the he had asked to substitute mashed potatoes for vegetables which seemed pretty straightforward but it came out with the mash. So it went back then when it came out the second time the duck was cold. Back it went. The third time the manager brought it out he asked was this a new dish or just the previous one reheated the manager said it was just reheated. Reheated duck becomes rubbery which is exactly what happened. Thanks no thanks.

Terribly disappointed! Last time we were there we had a lovey dinner with great ambiance. Tonight the sound level was terrible. Tour guide on microphone to her tables where everyone had to yell over the table to talk. Food was mediocre at best. They need to go back to their tradition. Will not return there, unfortunately.

The inside is stunning! Just what I expected when visiting NOLA.This was a business meeting and it it's hard to gauge what everyone will like. New Orleans is mainly a seafood town, so I found The Palace to be a safe zone because it had an eggplant app and a beef and chicken entree. I have to say I was really bummed when we were told the only non seafood appetizer was sold out. That forced us into getting a cheese board which was underwhelming and over priced with bread that was stale-- not toasted, stale. I got the shrimp entree and my shrimp were cold and everything just wasn't tasty. The service was good but the servers who come specifically for drinks aren't really knowledgeable on their own cocktail menu. I won't be back here.

The bartender/our waiter named Rory so think had a terrible attitude, very abrupt. This took away from an otherwise good memory we had of Palace Cafe. Food seemed mediocre this time. As we sat by the window of the kitchen, we could watch them prepare the food. We already had our orders placed, one thing was gumbo. After sitting and waiting, we saw that they refilled the gumbo out of a plastic bag and poured it into the container they would ladle it out of. What a surprise. After having the gumbo, not that great. Had the crab claw appetizer, not garlicky like promised, again not the same. We also had a girl bartender/waiter, and after we placed our order, she did not come by again until signaling. After waiting at least 10 minutes with no one coming by, I caught the eye of the male and he sent the girl over. She took our order for dessert. Again 10 minutes goes by. Then the male starts making bananas foster for what appeared to be the couple next to us. He did not speak to anyone. Finished making them quickly and said to them here is your dessert. They said they did not order it. He looked exasperated. We said we did. He banged it down in front of us and left. The bananas were not even warm, but again no one in sight. Waited again and flagged male down for check. He brought it, said pay at the bar. What a disappointment for a $67 check!

Brunch... good music and our first server offered drinks was great, our food server was so laid back little too much, food came out cold and never ever checked on us, when said something he was oh ok, let me fix it which took another length of time. Bloody Mary bar was a total joke! Cheesecake apt was fantastic... won’t run back... 97$ for two and went back out to eat...
