Great food selection at the breakfast buffet. Eggs were scrambled and wet which is not how I like them. Great service!

Our friends from San Francisco just enjoyed the food, service, ambiance and quality of dishes being offered. We were impressed with the menu and offerings. Bananas foster was a treat to see it in the menu.

The food is fresh and unique, and the wait staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Plenty of choices of all courses and the specialties were unique but not 'fussy'. The table-side bananas foster was a delicious and special ending.

I usually stay away from restaurants that are “famous” because they never live up to the hype- Palace Cafe proved me wrong. So much so that I ended up eating dinner here twice during a week long trip. There are many excellent choices for food In New Orleans and the Palace Cafe should be at the top of any list of places to dine. Wonderful experience!

Food is always consistently the best! Our server ,Patrick, was available and attentive. The noise level was overwhelming at times due to a large table of twelve "gamers" in town for a tournament who had not consent of social behavior. Our waiter kept apologizing, but it made no impact on them.
That made this visit a little less enjoyable for our out of town guests.

The Palace is a solid N'Orleans eatery. We loved the crab cheesecake, the fried oyster salad and the meal winner....Andouille crusted sheepshead!
It was spot on for our lunch break from the conference.
Allison is a terrific waitress, and we plan to go back!

We arrived and were immediately seated at our reservations time. It was aJazz Bruch. Great music upstairs. We enjoyed wonderful drinks while waiting for our entrees! Wait staff was awesome! Very attentive! We had two dishes that were outstanding! Plus a shared dessert!
And the prices are reasonable for this upscale restaurant!

This is one of our favorite restaurants in New Orleans. We come here almost every time we visit the city. This was the first time that I thought the food was acceptable but not exceptional.
Also, the service was not horrible but had to ask for tea refills, had to ask for extra bread....not the normal service we have received. Also, it was very noisy but there was a football game so could have been the crowd.

We are not strangers to this wonderful restaurant. The food is always first rate. I had seared foie gras and sliced duck breast on the same plate and both were satisfying.
The service was as good as most I've experienced. Wait staff was very knowledgeable and took the time to share what they knew about both the menu and their city.

Upscale casual describes the ambiance adequately.

Palace Cafe has been a consistent 'go to' place for us for many years but has dropped off recently in our opinion. The last two times we have eaten there when in New Orleans it has been 'off'. The wife's turtle soup was mediocre time before but really bad this time....a real crime for a Brennan's establishment. Take it off the menu if you can't get that one right. Main courses were okay but not up to Brennan's standards in our opinion. I'm sorry to write this since we have been fans for a long time, but we treasure every meal we have in NOLA and we won't waste further opportunities on the Palace. On a brighter side, Mr B's and Commanders Palace both shined on our last two visits.

Terrific, authentic NOLA food. Fancy enough to bring out of town guests, but casual enough that the kids won't complain. You might peek in the windows as you walk past and think you can't bring your obnoxious children, but the acoustics make it a bit loud, so any mild-to-moderate shenanigans shouldn't bother other diners. Turtle soup, crab meat cheesecake and bananas foster flambe'd table-side are all top choices to add to your meal. And if they ask if you want fried oysters on top, always say yes - IDK what they are doing but the oysters are soooo good. There is a burger on the menu for the less adventurous eaters in your krewe. I made a reservation because we had a large-ish group, it was super cold, and we wanted a high chair, but have also had occasion to just walk up and ask and be seated. Also, the service is divine; you will get a chance to chat with fun, funny New Orleanians - and they feed you. Just go.

The experience was quite lacking. Over the years I have come to appreciate the Brennan’s restaurants when I come to New Orleans. January 1 at the Palace cafe did not meet up to my expectations. We waited 20 minutes after our reservation time before we were seated. There were 5 of us and when the food came out 4 of the meals were cold and not even tepid... like it came out of the refrigerator. Those 4 meals were mahi-mahi and the other fish (sheeps head). They took them back and they came out warm the second time, but it appeared to me it was the same food just warmed up since my fish was piled the exact way it was when I last saw it prior to return. Due to the fact we were there with other people I was not going to make a big issue since we were there with friends we only see once a year. As they brought the bill, they did not even take anything off the bill or make any offer to make the ruined experience right. This will be my last visit to a Brennan’s restaurant.

New Year’s Day and service was a little slow, but they were very busy. Thought they should have offered brunch on New Years Day. Drink orders were way too slow and food was good but not quite as good as in the past. Overall, we had a good experience except for slow service.

Had a New Year’s Eve reservation for 6. Had to wait for over an hour in the bar with broken glass all over the floor, then they sat us at an upstairs table and wedged us in with a waitress that had too many tables to service and evidently we were low man. Apparently, on that night, table turnover trumped service and quality. Meal was mediocre by any standard, but even more underwhelming compared to all of the other wonderful dining experiences we had in Nola over New Years weekend. Definitely a disappointing experience from a somewhat renowned restaurant.

The food was not good during this visit at all. The Pasta St Charles tasted like it had been marinated in horseradish sauce overnight & the Mahi Mahi was overcooked. I also ordered the lobster bisque & it was cold . Overall, it was the worst choice for my New Year's Eve dinner.

A typical great Brennan restaurant that I have come to expect. Their crabmeat cheesecake is great. Entertained some folks from out of town and they loved it too. I also had to make a few changes to the reservation and they were quite accommodating. We love this restaurant.
