A palace café signature dish! pecan crust, mushroom sauté, creole meunière
A Palace Café favorite! fresh bananas sautéed in brown sugar and cinnamon, flambéed with banana liqueur and rum, vanilla bean ice cream
The waitstaff, food, and music were phenomenal and the table side prep for Bananas Foster was excellent!
World class service, great food, tasty drinks and finished off with Bananas Fosters table side. Special nod to the Sezarum cocktail, didn’t think they could approve in the original but the rum smooths it out while just a hint of sweetness.
The Chicken and Risotto with peas was simply outstanding. Flavorful, with lemon overtones. The Crab Cheesecake was a bit of a disappointment, with a sauce that had no discernible flavor, although topped with a tasty crawfish. The Seafood pasta was excellent, as was the Salad with Shrimp. I would heartily recommend the Cafe.
Good food and service, a good value as well. Higher noise level but a great spot for a casual lunch or dinner.
My family of 5 all loved everything, the food was delicious, if we ever come back to this area, we would definitely come back
Wonderful local food in the New Orleans tradition. Nicely done Gulf drum andouille and a large pecan’d catfish. They were superbly done.
Waitress was new so service was just ok. She did her best but struggled, especially with the Bananas Foster. Food was good, especially the crab cheesecake.
The tables were spaced appropriately and the servers were great in providing nice and timely service. The menu had a variety of options to select from and each one that we had tasting wonderful. Prices were affordable for such great food.
We went for brunch to celebrate my daughter turning 18. Started off with cocktails. My wife ordered the Crab cheescake appetizer for the table. It was really good. The bib salad I had was delicious. My daughter had a past a dish that was probably the winner for best entree. I had andouille crusted trought. It was a bit spicier than I expected. My wife had turtle soup for her main course. It was tasty. We topped it off with a flourless chocolate cake and white chocolate bread pudding. Both were very good.
We were very hopeful about this place and it came highly recommend. We had reservations so it wasn’t an on the whim. The server was great at first but once I politely stated the Bloody Mary tasted like plain v8 that entire vibe changed. It took 15 minutes to even get her back over to get water. We had our appetizer which was the crabmeat cheesecake which was amazing but decided to take our business elsewhere. I went to the bar to get change to leave a cash tip and had multiple people walk by including my server look at me and 2 even ask did I need something, I told them I needed change to leave cash($30) I finally got someone to help and when I handed him a $1 just for giving me change he legit rolled his eyes left it there and walked off! I would never not tip for helping/serving but to act as if you’re too good for it?!?! I’ve never been to a place where people are so stuck up! I stayed nice but it was hard to bite my tongue on it. I truly hope they are not like this on a regular daily basis!
Had the andouille crusted gulf fish. No regrets. Cooked perfectly. We eat here each time we come to NOLA. Wish they would bring back the spinach salad.
Wonderful food and service. Nice, but not super fancy.
We went with another couple for brunch and it was delicious! The gals had the shrimp and grits which were absolutely amazing. The gents had the chicken and waffle and both guys weren’t very fond of their meal. The beer was average but the cocktails were relatively good! Overall the girls really enjoyed this place and the decor and ambiance was so nice!
Absolutely wonderful. Delicious food and we had the best server. Would recommend to anyone. It was pretty loud, but it suited the “bistro” feel of the restaurant.
Gorgeous setting. Cocktails were delicious. Service was fantastic.
This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend and it was the highlight of our trip to New Orleans, anything on the menu will be delicious! Definitely going back the next time I’m in NOLA!!!
Two former colleagues met for lunch and had a lovely time. The Coolinary Menu lunch was quite good, and our server was excellent — attentive, kind, and helpful. Glad to see that Palace is emerging from the pandemic closure as good as ever — maybe even better.
Doesn’t get better than Palace Cafe! Old New Orleans at its finest.
Wow! The food was amazing! Who knew Turtle soup was so delicious! The Andouille Gulf Fish was the waiter's recommendation and it was to die for! Everyone at our table enjoyed their choice which ranged from the Duck to the Palace Burger. After our entrees several of us had the Bananas Foster which was prepared right at out table. Such a treat! The service was exceptional even with our large group of 10! You really get your money's worth and get to experience some of the outstanding foods of New Orleans!
The palace cafe is ALWAYS a go to place for us. It was just an off night I think. I understand that currently waitstaff are limited but our waitress was not a good representative of Brennan’s standards. We will definitely go back though.
The food and service here were better than expected. The oyster loaf and the french onion dip were superb. You can't go wrong with any of the food here and if you can save room for dessert try the bananas foster or the creme brulee.
We were recommended to go to Palace Cafe and it did not disappoint. We made a reservation and had no trouble getting seated. The waitress recommended similar dishes to what other people had already recommended, which is probably a good sign. The ambience was very nice and the place looks amazing. The service was polite and responsive.
Excellent food and drinks. Superb service.
This has always been one of my favorite places to eat. It never disappoints! The crabmeat cheesecake is a must along with the white chocolate bread pudding! Our server, Ross, was also excellent.
Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.
The food was wonderful!
The tea selection was not extensive but did offer some options.
I truly enjoyed the crabmeat cheesecake and the shrimp with grits. My sister really liked the bananas foster-which was prepared rablesiuidd and came with dessert's origin story. A fabulous experience!!
Used to be amazing, not this time
Palace Cafe is always on the the agenda when we visit New Orleans. The food is delicious (everything on the menu!)and the staff is outstanding, very attentive. We will be back for sure, cha!
This is an exceptional but informal and comfortable restaurant. The Black Duck bartender has great skills and recipes and makes you feel welcome. One of my favorite restaurants in New Orleans
Louisiana born, but been out of the state for years. Came back to visit and made a trip to New Orleans. Palace Cafe did not disappoint! It was some of the best seafood I've had in a long time! Would definitely come back again and highly recommend!
Great time had by all!! Food is absolutely divine and customer service was unparalleled to any restaurant in the area
Great place for lunch And we eat here every time we visit the city
Food was ok. Waiter was pushy with add ons. Service was slow even though other tables were attended to quickly. As another reviewer mentioned the vibe in the restaurant was really weird.
Our waiter was a little rude. We were looking for New Orleans friendliness to show our friend. He is a native but kinda embarrassed us.
The host cheered as we entered and explained that we were their last reservation of the night, it was the weirdest welcome I’ve ever experienced. We ordered an appetizer, the crab cheesecake which was incredible. The entire vibe was weird in the building, workers were just watching us. We then realized there was water POURING OUT OF THE CEILING IN THEIR KITCHEN!!!!! The kitchen is all glass so we could visibly see the water pouring from above. We asked our server what was going on in the kitchen and her response was “oh well we’re closing soon so they’re rushing to finish their last tickets” UM WHAT? She then explained the water pouring from the ceiling was NORMAL and happens every time it rains. Ok last straw... I ordered a drink (which she never offered us alcohol or drinks other than water) when she dropped off my drink I said thank you! And she responded “Mmmmmmmhm”
This was the RUDEST staff I have ever come into contact with. We were treated so poorly and will never recommend this place to anyone. I am very unsure of how the ratings are so high on open table.
Service lacked a little for our table. Had to ask for drink refills, extra napkins, and bread. But food was really flavorful, and decently sized. We will be back.
Went for dinner with the family and the food was really good. Our waiter, Juan was super attentive and made us feel very welcome.
Would recommend to others.
We had a great time. Only minus was drinks ordered that came from the bar were extremely slow at arriving to table. Also slow service ordering entrees after appetizers.
Beautiful, wonderful food, great staff!
