This restaurant is permanently closed. Permanently Closed - Voted "Best Pizza" by Daily News readers. Pizza is taken seriously at this Lower East Side pizza restaurant. Chef/Owner Gigio Palazzo creates oblong Roman pies made with your choice of an ORGANIC MULTIGRAIN Crust or GLUTEN FREE crust. Palá is known for fresh, innovative pies such as "Zucca" pumpkin puree, pancetta and smoked scamorza cheese and "Bufala Cruda" oven melted cherry tomatoes, fresh buffalo mozzarella and whole basil leaves. Pizzas are served on long wooden "Pala's" or pizza peels and are excellent for sharing in groups. In addition to pizzas, Palazzo serves up homemade specialties like "arancini" and "fiori di zucca" not to mention an impressive list of salads, pastas and desserts. Great place for family event gathering with a varied menu to please vegan as well as basic Carnivors who love Italian food. Very noisy but also very friendly. Excellent service. Very creative interior and exterior design and seating.

It was a little cold. The food was great. Pizza both gluten free and wheat was perfect. They don't modify the menu items which I get but is a little rude.

They need to cut down on their salt. I ordered the Parpadelle
Bolognese beef ragu with sundried tomatoes and parmigiano cheese. It was so salty I couldn't finish it. I also ordered a side of Brussels sprouts ..... so salty again, let the ingredients speak for themselves.

Pala has been a favorite of mine for a long time. I've celebrated birthdays, girls night out, and even my engagement there. I've been struggling with Pala the last two trips, and honestly, this was my last dinner there. The gluten free pizza crust is delicious, and that has definitely gotten better. But other than the service, which was outstanding, it was all very subpar. The calamari appetizer was good, but lacked flavor. The tomato sauce used to be noticeably homemade and delicious. This time, it seemed to be straight out of a jar. I ordered a GF vegan eggplant pizza. It was so saturated in oil, that the whole crust and my hands were covered in it. The eggplant was supposed to be sautéed but it seemed deep fried and super oily. My friend enjoyed her regular crust buffalo mozzarella pizza, but she also said it was a bit mushy. Lastly the signature cocktails are insanely small, and way overpriced. $14 for a couple of sips, not worth it. This place has gradually gotten more and more expensive I've noticed, yet the quality has been sacrificed. My friend enjoyed her dessert, but my vegan carrot cake was not good. Very weird texture and the frosting tasted like it was commercially made about a week ago. For $130+ bill (for two), it definitely wasn't worth it. The server whose name I wish I remembered was once again amazing. Other than that, very disappointed In Pala, I won't be returning.

The first time I went here, I had just wandered in off the street, and ever since I can't get enough! This is the first place I've found that does Gluten Free Fried Calamari, and it's absolutely delicious. Not to mention the pizza, which they are very good with making sure things stay Gluten Free. The cocktails are decent, and I don't really have any complaints!

Food was ok but some of the dishes like the pasta and starters were definitely not value for money. Pizza and desert was good.

Took ages to get served (ended up being served by the bar man who was lovely); but the other main waiter was very rude and didnt seem to want to associate with us at all.

Good gluten free options but don't think I'd go back.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. I have a gluten allergy and at this restaurant I don't have to think about it at all. My friends that aren't allergic to gluten even love this place. The food is excellent!

Classic Dishes done right. We took out our daughter and had pizza margarita with ham and spaghetti meatballs. That may sound simple but it doesn't do justice to how fresh and well done this was. There are more adventurous dishes so we'll try those when it's just my wife and I.
