Fabulous meal - as always!!!
Forgot to confirm reservations when we got there. The soup was a bit salty to my liking. The manager on the floor introduced herself to the conference duo who came in 30+ min later didn't bother with my table even though we were the first people there. Didn't find out anything about us. Won't be coming back.
Autumn , our server was so great! We were getting together with friends we hadn’t seen in a while so she was so patient. She was great!
This was our first visit. The employees were friendly. We immediately noticed the kitchen was short staffed and the orders were backed up. The to go process was a nightmare and the business acumen of the leadership has some room for improvement. The food was really good. We may or may not be back.
Good didn’t taste like authentic Thai cuisine. It tasted very American
Always a great time at Pakpao. The food is consistently delicious and the service is great.
The restaurant was understaffed and the food was lackadaisical. We were among very few diners at the lunch hour on a weekend. The fried rice was so salty we could barely eat it. The pad Thai was average and luckily not laced with sodium and hence edible. The fresh rolls were hard and the rice wrap was particularly poorly done. We made a poor choice in dining here. Our usual staple is the Asian Mint on Forest Lane. However we thought we’d change things up a bit and we paid for it both in cost and in a nausea inducing dining experience. I’m afraid we will not be dining here again.
Service was ok, not great. Set us next to the front door with cold air blasts whenever the door opened.
Too busy for the service staff
One of my top spots!
The food was amazing as always! It was a little quiet but the vibe was lively.
First time at this location - fairly slow at lunch & that sat all tables right next to each other which seemed a little odd, but the food & service were both good.
They were out of dumplings, beef jerky and grilled chicken of all things. But the holy basil ground pork dish is fantastic with coconut rice.
The service was terrible - our waitress was not attentive and we waited significantly after our drinks and food were done being prepared before they were delivered to our table. my husbands water glass was inadvertently cleared when about a quarter full of water and then was returned in the same state - not refilled. I had heard so many wonderful things, but for the price, there are other options that are equivalently tasty,
Great food and service!
One of my favorite places for a no nonsense but consistently good meal with fabulous cocktails. Service is quick and accurate, food is always good and well presented, only ask is they tone down spice in massaman curry, typically smooth and not too spicy! Its delicious but feel would enjoy if not so hot!
I wanted to love this place. The food was just ok. I’ve had better at other nearby Thai places. Our server did a great job but they were understaffed and tables were left unbussed near us the entire meal. We ordered the dumplings, a salad, , chicken satay, pad see ew, and pad Thai.
Place was dirty and service was slow
Mother’s Day with days- loved it!
Not impressed.
For people who prefer grossly large portions of Americanized/taste-stripped “Thai” food. We won’t be back.
Meh. Food so-so. Our bartender/waitress was very nice but I’d go somewhere else next time.
I have eaten at this restaurant 2 times and both times the food was delicious. April, who waited on us ( both times) is a delight. She was friendly, informative and attentive.
We will definitely be returning!
We came for the AYCE crawfish boil to celebrate Thai New Year and it was delicious! This was the first time we've ever had Thai-flavored crawfish boil and it was yummy -- very tasty and not too spicy. The potatoes, corn and sausage were great additions. Staff was attentive and kept encouraging us to get refills. We definitely enjoyed it and will be back for their regular menu as well.
This location does not have brunch even though it’s listed on the website. We left.
The service was atrocious. Forgot our drinks twice. Brought the wrong meal. They were very apologetic and gave us free drinks but we won’t be returning
Hey Michael, Management has spoke with our wait staff about attention to detail, and this has been a main focus in our training programs. We hope you dine with us again, and kids eat free on Sundays!
I have been to the design district location and loved it. This was such a disappointment. All the food was extremely salty. The servers were working hard but we’re not attentive enough. We sat with our dishes in our tables for a long time and service was just spotty. I won’t be recommending or returning to this location.
The food was just not great. Five of us ordered different items and none of us were thrilled, nourished us but nothing exciting about any of the dishes.
It was overall ok. The service wasn’t great. Our server never seemed to be around when we needed something. We finally had to start asking any server we could find for help.
I generally like Pakpao but this location didn’t live up to the name’s standards.
We ate there for family celebration after daughter’s college graduation. We all enjoyed our meal!
This is really for the chef/manager. We returned because the food and location have been so good for us, inside and out. But this time we caught them off guard, but Friday at noon?
The dumplings, that were eagerly recommended by our waiter, must have been reheated. The tops were hard, and the whole dumpling seemed shrunk.
The duck, my plate, was overcooked in my estimation, but then maybe that's how they do it. Not how I remember from previous experiences.
My staff thoroughly enjoyed everything else.
Terrible service: slow, forgot items, not attentive. But the food was excellent! It’s a shame because I’m not sure I’d take a large group back again (there were ten of us).
Tried Pakpao for lunch during DFW Restaurant Week. The pork and shrimp dumplings were over salted which over-powered any flavor. Ordered the chicken with yellow curry and asked to make it spicy since the menu did not indicate it was a spicy dish. Waiter did not ask how spicy I wanted the curry. Big mistake! One bite of the chicken curry and my mouth and throat were on fire...even took my breath away for a few seconds. I love super spicy foods but I’ve never experienced that kind of heat before. Tried to eat a few more bites but it was tortuous. My boyfriend even tried a bite because he didn’t believe it could be that spicy and he about choked. Pakpao should either inform their waiters that the curry is super spicy or denote it on the menu so that the customer is aware before deciding to order it with extra spice.
My boyfriend’s Pad Thai w/steak was delicious and super fresh. He ordered off main menu and not the DFW Restaurant Week menu. Not sure if that’s why his meal was perfect.
Overall I was not the least impressed and doubt I’ll go back to Pakpao. There are way better Thai restaurants in Dallas than Pakpao.
So, it is my favorite time of the year — restaurant week! I went to Pakpao Thai for the first time and I loved it. My companion and I did the restaurant week menu, and it was more than enough for both of us. We started with the Sui Mai which are pork and shrimp dumplings and they were amazing. I’d go back just for them. Second appetizer was the crab Rangoon’s. Yum. So much fresh crab! Outstanding. For lunch we had the Shrimp Pad Thai, and Chicken Curry. To wash it all down, we had the delish Sangria.
The service was friendly and the manager came to check on the table twice. The ambiance of the restaurant was great. Loved the food...will return!
Terrible experience. Our waiter was totally clueless. It took him 15 Minutes to inform us that the wine we ordered was not available (we sorta figured that out)! We ordered a different wine but he brought this time he brought the wrong one. Our waiter knew nothing about the menu and his timing for delivering the food and retrieving dirty dishes was awkward. When our order was much delayed, he said “we only have two cooks working tonight”. Who wants to hear that? Food was ok but not worth the wait. This restaurant has no one in charge and quality control is nonexistent. We will not return!!!
Took 20 minutes for a doughnut....kept forgetting to refill our waters, and just took entirely too long for lunch.
First they were out of my son’s favorite wings. He ordered another chicken dish and asked for the wing sauce on the side. They charged us 2.50 for it. Next, my shrimp curry dish came with only 3 shrimp. Waiter told us it should have 5. He spoke to manager and they said they could either take a few bucks off or bring me another dish and charge me extra. Never again at this location...we always enjoy the downtown location.
So disappointing. Service was friendly, but very inattentive. It seemed disjointed, as if no one knew where to go, when. The food was poor, overall. The chicken satay appetizer looked like it had been sitting under a warmer for several hours (but the peanut sauce was quite good). The dumplings were excellent. The salmon entree was passable, but the sauce had congealed by the time it hit the table. A side order of wok vegetables was almost floating in a soy sauce mixture. Iced tea, two beers, and the bill was over $75 before tip. This was my seventh try, and I am giving up. I really want to like Pakpao, but it feels like a complacent generic place. I have found the Design District location to be a bit better, but still spotty.
Great service. Great food.
We started with the PEEK GAI NAM DAENG - HOT & SPICY CHICKEN WINGS then had the NEUA MASSAMAN - SHORT RIB WITH MASSAMAN CURRY and PED SARM ROD - CRISPY TAMARIND DUCK for our entrees. Our server recommended the coconut rice for both and we were so glad he did. It was all marvelous! Our favorite was the short rib dish, though. Very Very Good!!! I ordered a cup of the TOMKHAGAI-CHICKENCOCONUTSOUP, but had to send it back. It was too bland for my liking. I've had it there before and liked it.
