Pairings by Tomás Cuadrado
Tomas Cuadrado Capitan. Barcelona. 1970,
My career in the culinary arts began in 1986, when i started working at Port Pelegri Restaurant, which was a family business. From that experience, i decided to develop my career by getting inspiration from the restaurants i visited no only in Spain but throughout Europe and putting it into practice in my kitchen. In 1996, i obtained my degree as a Sommelier in Catalonia. Later, i expanded my career by becoming a professor at the UAB (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona), giving hospitality classes. I also participated in several international competitions related to my specialty as a sommelier, and i rated best Catalan Sommelier in the prestigious competition La Nariz de Oro in 2009. I am currently Executive Chef/ Sommelier in Miami, Florida work that I perform with great enthusiasm and passion.
This is the best Spanish restaurant that we have tried in Miami, the menu is not very extensive but is well curated and the food preparation and presentation is outstanding. This is a very small restaurant so service is very personal, make sure you make reservations. Our only issue was that valet parking was not available at 6:00 pm but management directed us to an alternate location
Great restaurant! Amazing food, best good ever!! Best spanish food in town and the services amazing. Super recomended!!!!
I was recommended this restaurant and it was a success, small but elegant, a good selection of wines from around the world, excellent service, Emilio was very helpful, the food an extraordinary level. And Tomás the chef came to greet us was very nice. They have Valet parking $ 5 2 / hours entering through the 2NE Aveneu. we will be back soon
It was a wonderful and truly authentic experience with a carefully curated wine selection and dishes that rival those found at some Michelin-starred restaurants. Service was exceptional. I highly recommend and will return.
Great Miami Spice experience !!! Food and service were exceptional. The server was fast, helpful and professional. Totally recommendable !
I had lunch with my daughter today. The restaurant is cosy and comfortable, with a modern but warm decor. Our waiter was exceptional--attentive without hovering, informative, polite, and enthusiastic about the menu. The food was exquisite. The fennel gazpacho with cantaloupe pearls was like nothing I had ever tasted before. The lentil salad was light, fresh, and delicious. The branzino was cooked to perfection, but the star of the meal was the black squid ink fideua. The desserts were a perfect ending to a delicious lunch. The crema catalana was perfection, but if you are brave I recommend the cabrales cheese ice cream. This is not a sweet dessert, but it is tasty. We will be returning soon.
Excelente comida y vinos, muy amable la atencion de Emilio. El menu de Miami Spice que probamos fue magnifico.
Great food, great wine, and great service! Every dish was flavorful and made with fresh ingredients and fantastic flavors. You won't find another meal like this in Miami. We enjoyed everything we ordered; the chicken sausage, lentil salad, and seafood fideua. We can't wait to go back and introduce this restaurant to friends!
Loved the good, very creative and delicious. A good choice too for a pre concert bite.
After seeing all the rave 5 star reviews, we were disappointed. The food was either bland or too salty. Nothing wow at all. And we ordered mostly based on the recommendation of our server. Despite us only being 1 of 2 tables in the restaurant, they didn’t have the original wine we ordered, nor one of our requested main courses...not well stocked. The wine was very good, however, and prices were not bad but still a $300 meal for 4 people. Don’t think I’ll give it a second try.
This is a hidden gem! Our server Julio was professional, pleasant, did not rush us and helped us pick out wines. The food was so interesting and delicious. We shared several dishes so we could experience different tastes. Pairings is quiet and quaint....just what we needed after a busy day in Miami.
food was great and prices were moderate.
wine list was very reasonable.
service was very attentive.
i would definitely go back.
It was a great culinary experience. Genuine flavors from Spain, but not the common typical dishes that you can find in any other Spanish restaurant.
Great selection of wines and impecable service.
We will be back!
Amazing innovating and modern Spanish gourmet food in very professional service
Wonderful evening with great service and excellent food
Lovely spot. Wonderful tapas. Our waiter could not have been nicer. Great experience overall.
A hidden gem in miami downtown! We had the tortilla, razor clams, croquetas and a Fideua all paired with a nice bottle of Albariño (they have a great selection of wines by the glass and bottle!). Emilio took care of us and he was a great host! Get there before the word gets out.
Amazing experience, best spanish restaurant in Florida, great wine list.
Great experience! True Spanish food!
Worst Spanish Restaurant that I have visited in Miami. Don’t waste your time and money there. Very bad food!!!
Only the wine was good!
Hello Good Evening, My name is Amaury Suarez and I am the General Manager of Pairings By Tomas Cuadrado. I do apologize that you had a bad experience. I would like to be able to formally invite you back to the restaurant and give us the chance to provide an evening on the house to show whom it may concern that we strive to give our guest the best experience possible. Kind regards.
Eureka! Discovered a new gem in beautiful downtown Miami (across from Miami Arena) called “Pairings by Tomas Cuadrado” . Tomas is from Barcelona, he is an excellent chef and sommelier with a strong passion for his food (he was rated best Catalan Sommelier in the “La Nariz de Oro”). Pairings is fine cuisine with a real explosion of Spanish flavors in a beautiful, relaxed Spanish-style setting with wooden tables and chairs and hand-picked decorations brought from Barcelona. The food was delectable, transporting you on a culinary trip through regions of Spain with mouth-watering dishes, charcuterie, meat, seafood, dessert and an impressive wine list. The wait staff was very welcoming, friendly and well trained, which enriches any restaurant experience. We will be back!
