My friend and I had a very nice dinner at Pago. I had a salad made with butter lettuce. It was very good. For my entree I had chicken with polenta and greens. The greens were not my favorite but that might just be my southern roots coming out.
Food and service was excellent as always. The duck was fantastic. It was however quite cold and I know it wasn't just us. Many people in the restaurant had their jackets on.
Service was excellent, food was amazing! Silly thing to note but portion sizes were absolutely perfect. Split a bottle of wine and an appetizer, have an entree, then split a dessert and you'll leave feeling perfectly satisfied but not uncomfortably satiated. Price is definitely on the upper end of the spectrum but for thoughtfully prepared seasonal cuisine, a beautifully designed space, and top notch service, our check seemed more than reasonable.
The entrees were excellent but the star of our meal was the crudo of the day. It was exceptional. The unique combination of flavors was truly a success in all their dishes.
We loved the food -- every bite was DELICIOUS!! Our only complaint was the portion sizes for the price (There is no way the pork rack dish "comfortably" feeds 3 people -- it barely fed two. And, one of our main pasta dishes was more the size of an appetizer). We had skipped our other meals that day so that we could really enjoy dinner, so we were pretty hungry. We ended going elsewhere to get some nice, BIG, desserts to fill us up!
Our first visit to Pago was amazing. And it's rare that a restaurant impresses us twice in a row. But Pago did just that. The service (Jayde) was amazing, food was creative and delicious, and the wine was fantastic!
I can't wait to go back!
Came here on 12-10-17 and had a great meal with my friends. We had the brunch menu and each of us enjoyed different items and did not find anything we did not like or eat. I will for sure eat here again.
I have always loved Pago. Great food, innovative menu, cool vibe, great night out. This visit was a bit different. The service was particularly slow(in an hour's time we had only received our appetizers, both very good). The menu however seemed more limited than usual. There were no main course specials offered and the dessert menu was limited to 2 choices. These were disappointments and detracted some from our usual enjoyment of the restaurant.
Restaurant in the popular 9th and 9th area. Good parking and transit options. Excellent varied menu, good wine, and excellent service. Noise level that enables a conversation, which is sometimes hard to find in a restaurant. Limited seating. GF not designated but waitress was well informed. We will definitely come here again.
Overall we were pleased, but my steak was overly salty. I should have sent it back, but did not.
