Paesanos - River Walk
Crab Stuffed Salmon
Served with pesto linguini and capers over a bed of spinach
It was my Birthday and they really made it special!
Amazing food and venue
The review is coming in a little late but since I still remember our dinner clearly I need to say it was great. Our server was on point and we enjoyed everything
Amazing food and service! Food was top quality!!!
Great food. Best shrimp we’ve ever had.
Excellent restaurant! Would highly recommend if you are looking for a good Italian dinner
The food was bad and really over priced. The side salad was the best dish.
Excellent service! The food was great and they took extra special care of us for our anniversary!
The server seemed disinterested in us after we didn't order any wine. I had to ask 2x for bread and the olive oil for dipping was just ok. Got the house special shrimp... Also just ok. However, the calamari was fantastic.
Paesanos is a wonderful restaurant. If dining here, try the Shrimp Paesanos - it is excellent! Other menu options are also good, but the Shrimp Paesanos is the best. Reservations are not 100% required, but very helpful - especially if desiring to sit outside on the patio. Encourage you to try the restaurant when in San Antonio.
Great Food and Outstanding Service sitting by the river. The Shrimp Paesanos were incredible. After dinner you must try the homemade Amaretto!!!
Tables were not cleaned very well and chairs were not wiped down at all.
Birthday dinner. Appetizers were ok. Drinks expensive
We went here for my grandma's 90th birthday dinner and the food and service was wonderful! The Shrimp Paesano was one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had. They made the birthday special with a surprise dessert for her birthday. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone!
Outstanding as always! beautiful restaurant, attentive service, and nothing in this world is as good as Shrimp Paesano. love it!
This was our first time at Paesanos and it did not disappoint. Food was great. I had the baked ravioli with parmesan crusted chicken and my husband had the 8 oz filet towered over spinach and mashed potatoes. We were both pleased with our choices. But, the service was OUTSTANDING! Our waiter for the night was stealth. From the bread, to the refilling of our kids’ drinks, to the “never spilled a drop” pouring of our wine; he was amazing. We never had to ask for a thing, so ask for Romario.
Good service and great food.
Good food, good atmosphere and nice surroundings. I had the chicken parm and it was great. The bread they bring out, was phenomenal.
There were a number of large groups and service was slow. Food arrived cold however the tuna was very tasty. Recommendation is giving them the benefit of the doubt because of the number of large groups.
Server appeared to to be "going through the motions" of service. It would have been what I expected at the Hard Rock next door, but not for an upscale place like Paesanos. We love coming here for the food, the location on the River Walk, and the overall experience. This time was just good instead of the great we are used to. It almost seemed like maybe they were understaffed and he had too many tables? Not sure. Either way, we will absolutely return as it is one of our favorites.
Food was disappointing. This was our second visit and the food quality was not near as good as our first visit. Had Chicken Parmesan that was flavorless and served almost cold.
I brought a school district board and superintendent for lunch and experience was amazing. Thank you for the attentiveness, professionalism and amazing food.
The place was crowded; that's usually a good sign. However, the server seemed under informed about the menu, not overly attentive, and the food was just barely average. The ziti came out cold on the bottom and had to be sent back to the kitchen. There was an hour wait for the food to arrive at the table; that seemed to be the case for all the other tables as well. The bread tasted like they bought at HEB. Not a good experience.
Started great, ended poorly
Shrimp appetizer was terrific,
Drinks took a while but were fine
Dinner was good but slow, shrimp was tasty, gluten free pizza was one of the best, they ran out of veal so no veal parm, no Marsala, no scaloppini...bummer
Caesar salad was average at best
Meatballs came out cold
Sang happy birthday with cannoli but didn’t offer the table anything for desert, coffee came out cold, overall mixed results and I have too many go to’s for Italian that just does it better
The food took a long time to be prepared and served. My entrée was not hot and did not taste good. I asked the waiter to take it away and did not have time to have another prepared. I will not return.
Food and service was good; lovely to sit outside, but the continual too-close-to-our-table people traffic and painfully loud upstairs bar music seriously affected our overall experience.
I ordered the Pecan Crusted Chicken which excellent! My husband ordered the Veal Marsala. He was disappointed when our waitress returned and told him they were out of veal. He ordered the chicken marsala, said it was good, but had his heart set on the Veal.
The food was as delicious as always. I was happy to bring a first-timer to the restaurant and they loved it.
I love Paesano’s - the Shrimp Paesano is so wonderful! I think I’ll go back tonight!
Food and ambience was good. We sat out on the patio people watching and the Ford Lantern Floating parade. I had the frozen strawberry margaritas. It's good, but a little pricey. I had their famous Shrimp Paesano and loved the grilled, lightly fried shrimp, but would've loved some parmesan on it (it was not offered). Husband liked his eggplant parmigiana dish.
The location is lovely! It was not very crowded but our waiter didn’t seem to be very available. The food was good but I have been here several times and I have had better food. My favorite is the shrimp paesanos and usually have it, but this time I ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce to try something different. It was just okay.
Very good food and service, right on the Riverwalk lower level. The wine selection, however, is extraordinarily expensive. I am used to wine prices at about double the price in retail stores. Maybe 2.5 times. But, Paesano's sells Santa Margherita Pino Grigio, that can be found anywhere for $15 to $20 a bottle, is priced at $71 plus tip and tax. Our dinner for 5, including 3 bottles of wine, was about $500. So, I recommend, but do your libations before arrival, somewhere else.
I’ve been going to Paesanos back when they had their location on McCullough. The food-the shrimp Paesanos especially -has been very consistent. What I was shocked by is what seems like a huge jump in prices. I took my niece for lunch on the Riverwalk and for the two of us it was $80-for lunch portions of shrimp and stuffed shells. By the time you add a decent tip you’re at almost $100 for lunch for two? I’d suggest if you’re looking for a simple Italian lunch try somewhere else because while good I don’t think it’s $100 good.
Really attentive and friendly service. Husband really enjoyed the Shrimp Paesanos and the lemon sauce on my chicken was outstanding too.
Very enjoyable to be cozy and warm on a Jan night on the patio.
We enjoyed our Frutti di Mare special.
The service was indifferent at best.
A good choice on The Riverwalk after taking the boat tour.
Went to Paesanos on the river walk for culineria week and it was fabulous.
Our food was warm not hot but our waiter accommodated.
Great food and reasonable price. Paesanos scampi terrific. Grandson is very picky and loved the spaghetti. Nice place on River Walk. You’ll like it.
Our food was not good. We thought this would be comparable to the Lincoln heights location and it was NOT. the salads we served on plates approximately 3” in diameter and did not taste anything like the other Paesanos. The margarita pizza was not flavorful and disappointing.
Sunday lunches at Paesano's are typically a nice, quieter time to enjoy Shrimp Paesano. My mom loved celebrating her birthday there & NATHAN made it extra special with table settings & a birthday desert. Always a great meal.
