Paesanos - River Walk
Sunday lunches at Paesano's are typically a nice, quieter time to enjoy Shrimp Paesano. My mom loved celebrating her birthday there & NATHAN made it extra special with table settings & a birthday desert. Always a great meal.
Paesanos never disappoints! Food is fabulous and so is the staff. Shrimp Paesano is my favorite!
Downtown for show at the Majestic so decided to eat on Riverwalk. Not really greeted by 3 hosts at stand. Ordered bottle of wine and meals. Waitress told us about off menu wines. But couldn’t answer questions about them. You could tell she was annoyed with us. Osso Buco was plentiful and tasted good. Husbands Shrimp Paesano was underwhelming to him. Especially for $30. I can take or leave Paesano’s.
The food was bland. Parmesan chicken was supposed to have a lemon sauce on it but had little flavor. Caesar salad dressing just tasted weird and the lobster bisque tasted more like tomato soup. I wanted to like this place but it just wasn’t good. Not worth the money.
Beautiful location on the Riverwalk. The door was delicious. We loved the Parmesan crusted snapper and the shrimp Paesano. Service was very good. Wine prices were steep, and they were out of the cheap bottle we ordered, but we found a great alternative.
We arrived and greeted by Johnathon our server. Very professional, yet friendly, knowledgeable and overall just a great guy. The food and drinks were excellent, had a great time.
But not for special events they are a normal day to day restaurant... we went with the intention of celebrating a birthday and definetly not the place! normal day to dau italian restaurant is ok
My husband asked that we reserve a place with table cloths and cloth napkins for my birthday weekend. The website showed this, and I made the reservation. The reality was there were no table cloths, and the intimate dinner we had anticipated was anything but. My selection (Paesano Shrimp) was quite good, as was the lobster bisque. My husband was not very happy with his ravioli. The website mislead on the ambiance of this restaurant, and we will not go there again.
Had dinner with friends after we attended the Majestic Theatre matinee performance. Perfect ending to a nice evening with friends.
One of the best Italian restaurants I have eaten at. The service was great and the atmosphere is fantastic
Food was great! Service was great! Made reservation but still got sat right next to two big parties and it was loud.
Limited menu and average food. Service was good
Food was terrible, it was incredibly crowded, everything was super over priced, it was super loud and hot, all around awful place. Way better and less expensive Italian food just off the riverwalk. Chances are you wont get a view of the River anyway so go there instead
I came here for a bachelor party on 1/4 and had an underwhelming experience to say the least. We were seated inside and it was a little warm, but that was no big deal. Then, one of the members of our party sat on broken glass. Someone had broken a plate and no one bothered to clean it up. When we informed the staff, they were very rude and unapologetic about it. Our server gave a half-hearted apology and offered a free dessert, which he never delivered. The service was just awful overall. Several members of our party were gluten free and the server was rude and condescending about this. I enjoyed my food, but other members were underwhelmed. Overall, this was supposed to be a great celebration for my friend and it just did not deliver.
The food was okay, the service was average. The location was great but was a little surprised as to why the outside tables had table clothes while the inside tables did not. Thought that should have been reversed.
Service was poor and clumsy. Waitress poured new wine into old glass.
Most of the food was pretty good/good but the pizza tasted like it came from the freezer section of the grocery store. Outside was nice.
The best thing about this place is the location. Food just mediocre and service was just ok.
For being an Italian restaurant, they were out of a lot of dishes - no tortellini, penne, ziti - so that was disappointing. Overall, the food was good though.
Good food, however the overall experience has dropped over the years. Wine list has few affordable options by the glass. Waiter never offered cracked pepper for the Caesar salad, or parmigiana cheese for the pizza and spaghetti dishes. The Shrimp Paesano was lacking tonight (both in flavor and sauce quantity) We will visit again and hope that this was just an "off" night.
Out of penne pasta & veal cutlet & when we asked the waiter, his response was “they should have informed you at the hostess stand”. Also both men’s and women’s restrooms were filthy.
Delicious and amazing! Our service was exceptional even though they were very busy! Glad we had Open Table reservations!
It was over crowded and they ran out out some of my favorite dishes.
Deliciosa la comida y los panes que te ofrecen de entrada son irresistibles!
Very crowded night, had to ask for a few things that got forgotten but overall a super special place with good authentic Italian food.
Excelente comida y atención con una vista agradable al River walk
My wife and I make an effort to dine at one of the two Paesano’s any time we travel to San Antonio. As usual, we were not disappointed. The meal was delicious.
Very poor service, not surprised that it was quite empty even though it was a holiday.
They close kitchen and bar without notification, we understand that it was Christmas Eve but we just could have one beer each and we can’t order more food neither, again never noticed us about that.
The dinner was good. The latte that was ordered after dinner was terrible. It was served cold in a small cup. This serving was two sips for $6.00 and not worth it.
I’m sure they were busier than usual since it was Christmas Eve, but most of the food was pretty bland, and the salads we ordered never came. We also had to ask for silverware and water was never refilled. We had to wait for a table and were eventually seated in the bar area in spite of having made a reservation weeks in advance. Our waiter was very nice and it wasn’t a bad experience overall, but I probably won’t bother returning with so many other options around.
Paesanos is one of our favorite spots on the Riverwalk. Tonight's experience was very enjoyable as usual. We opted to sit outside as the weather was perfect and enjoyed the annual Christmas lights and people watching. Our server was very good, considering the number of tables he was working, we never felt neglected. The food was very good and the wine pared well. Needles to say we enjoyed ourselves and will return soon.
Ordered fettuccini with clams. Serving size was acceptable but there were only 5 ‘very small’ clams in the dish
Out for a quick meal after travelling all day. The waiter was very good , the pizza was tasty. We wanted a thin crust so they recommended gluten free. We were surprised it tasted as good as it did. Obviously a family type restaurant so quite noisy but to be expected.
Haven't been to Paesanos on the River Walk in quite awhile. The Shrimp Paesano was good but not great, same goes for the stuffed shells and the cannellini. It's a Holiday week and the Riverwalk is buzzing so it may be understandable that the service was slow. For this price point I expect the food to be hot, not warm and service to be much faster and attentive. Overall not worth the price.
Our server was awesome. Food was excellent as always
Food was not very good. My steak was not cooked right. I would of sent it back but it would of took too long. The mashed potatoes were also cold. Service was great but for 120 I thought the food would of been better
Went here for dinner and view Christmas lights on Riverwalk! Wife loved her Shrimp Paesanos and my steak and potatoes were good, but they ran out of broccoli and subbed spinach wit out asking me???
I did get a replacement and they gave me a free slice of cake to go without asking which was nice. Overall it was a pleasant experience
They only had a table outside next to a wall even with the reservation.
