Paesanos - Lincoln Heights
Always great ambiance, service and quality of food.
The shrimp Paesano was exceptionally good and our server was outstanding .
This has the ambience of a fine old Italian restaurant -- warm and welcoming. The food is excellent and the staff is friendly and attentive. I put it a notch down from Ann Arbor's very best -- but my elder in-laws definitely prefer it to the town's sleeker, more sophisticated establishments.
Food was not so good. Mediocre at best and that’s a stretch.
In addition to entrees being less than great or good, a side of veggies came raw - uncooked - when our waiter came as we were getting our check and were finished with our meal, I explained why I had not eaten veggies. He said, you know, when I served them u noticed that it appeared that they had not been cooked.
I brought them home with me in a @to go@ box and examined every single veggie - total if 60 pieces - none had been cooked. Ridiculous.
The crew that came to remove our plates weren’t enjoying their job. Not one of the three people removing plates from every side of the table was cordial. All were just getting it done and seemingly eager for us to leave. Not returning to Paesano’s.
And to think we paid about $30 for each plate. Over rated for sure.
There was a hair in the appetizer, there was never and offer to compliment the appetizer, there was flies in the restaurant and in one persons tea a fly was swimming in it, but other than the hair and fly the meal was what you expect at this restaurant.
Main courses served immediately after soups and salads, providing no time to enjoy them. Had to request drink refills. Very disappointed, not like past good experiences.
Great food, lot’s of fun, awesome waiter. I’ve been going for about 40 years now. They never disappoint!
Lovely dining experience! We requested being seated in the Solarium where it was quiet and we could carry on a conversation:)
Perfect for dinner with friends.
The restaurant wasn't busy on this Sunday early evening. Waiter, Youssef, was a little slow. We had to pour our own wine, had to ask for water refills multiple times. Tiramisu desert portions were ridiculously small.
Waited at reception desk for over 5 minutes. Finally manager came over and asked if we’d been helped. I had asked for an out of traffic table for our Anniversary dinner. Was seated next to kitchen area.
Anniversary dinner with family. Noise level a little too high for my mom who wears hearing aids. We all had Steak and Shrimp Paesano which was delicious except I thought the sauce could have used more garlic and lemon. Otherwise service was good and was enjoyed by all.
I am always a fan, as is everyone in my family, of the Shrimp Paesano; however, this go around I found a new favorite in SEA SCALLOPS BÉARNAISE. When we visit San Antonio we always visit here because the food and service and superb. Our friends that tagged along this weekend were so glad we introduced them to this quality Italian restaurant.
Food is always amazing! Service is incredible! Worth it!
Love the Snapper Paisano!!
As always, delicious.
We always have a great experience when we visit this restaurant. Never disappoints in any aspects.
Our waiter was excellent: friendly, helpful. This was a Birthday Celebration & he joined into the spirit of the event very appropriately. And he took a very good photo of the two of us with the Cake & the Candles.
We have been to Paesanos before. Always good. We will be back.
It was an awkward experience, as the wait staff seemed inexperienced or overworked. The food was very overpriced for small portions. Everything I had ordered was either undercooked, cold, or flavorless. I wasn't aware that the restaurant was a chain, and the mostly good reviews led me to believe I would have an enjoyable experience. But paesanos... does not do justice to proper Italian food.
Nice family diner!
Made a reservation and the seating was on time. Table was too small to hold the plates because of poor timing of the wait staff. I felt very rushed which ruined the experience. The salads were overdressed; but the rest of the meal was excellent.
I have lived in San Antonio and started going to Parsano’s when they had one restaurant on McCullough. Sad to say, but the food and service have gone downhill over the years. At this point, I’ve pretty much decided not to go back. Too much money for subpar food and substandard service.
My family has eaten at Paesanos since the ‘70’s. I made reservations on line and the hostess acted like she had no idea our party of 9 was coming. When I asked if she had our reservation, she ignored me. Thankfully, we were seated within 15 minutes. Although our waitress was nice, the service was subpar. Our bar drinks were disappointing - how can you mess up Khalua and cream over ice? Our appetizers didn’t all come out before the meal. Our salads were not even cold - lettuce was warm like it was by a warmer. Then they NEVER acknowledged a birthday in our group - I noted it on line with the reservation, told the hostess and waitress. Shrimp Paesano was the saving grace. But I probably will not return to any of the locations. This was “the best” of their locations. We have eaten at all of them.
The noise level was way too loud - it was difficult to carry on a conversation. To make it worse we were seated near the kitchen. The servers and other guests continued to kick my chair - the tables were placed too close together.
Wait staff was great. Very attentive and knowledgeable about menu. No complaints at all there
Food was pretty disappointing. Salad, was probably the worst salad we have ever had at a restaurant. Very bland and lettuce tasted old.
Main course was just , "ok". For the price it was pretty disappointing. We probably wont go back.
Always excellent food and service. Could be the best Shrimp I have ever had.
Great food and excellent service.
Failed to look up my reservation, so my wife’s birthday was not acknowledged. Our server didn’t take our drink order or our entree order, but did deliver our food. She then failed to pre-bus and blamed it on the bus boys. She did manage to pick up her tip however. Very disappointing experience.
We got to this location and immediately were sat at a table right by the staff walk way. It was terrible. They kept bumping my seat & our server although nice was not very attentive. The food was good for the price & I probably would not return to this location. The servers were all over the place and although that’s great the whole atmosphere feels so rushed and fast paced. :/
This is such a great restaurant. We had a large group (as many on a Saturday night do) and were pleasantly surprised that we could actually hold a conversation. Seems that many restaurants these days are just too loud. Food was exceptional and service was on point. Always love our visits to Paesanos.
Awesome food great service and an affordable wine list
Our waitress Patti was excellent along with the rest of the staff.
Mediocre experience and food. Nothing to brag about
Made reservations through OpenTable and was immediately seated without even looking to see if we had them which was odd but ok. We were seated close to the aisle that was apparently a main thoroughfare for waiters, guests, etc. so much that several times the waiters ended up standing behind me waiting for others to pass while we were eating.
They brought out some varieties of bread which was nice but just a bowl of olive oil with no seasoning in it was a little disappointing.
Waitress was ok however I had ordered my pasta with marinara sauce and it came out with garlic and butter. I asked if I was supposed to have marinara sauce on my pasta and not just the chicken and she agreed and proceeded to bring me a cup of marinara sauce. I was expecting a new plate of pasta since this one already had garlic and butter on it. Needless to say, I ate the chicken only which really wasn't anything special for a signature Italian dish (chicken parm).
As we were finishing up, the waitress came by and asked my wife if she wanted more wine to which she said no. The waitress then quickly picked up the wine glass that still had 2-3 more sips in it and walked off. Before we could say anything she was out of sight.
Won't be going to this location or others again. This was our first time due to good reviews but definitely not impressed. This had been our 3rd Italian restaurant we tried in the city and nothing has been great (Scuzzi's and Louie Italian).
iI used open table to setup a reservation and we were sat as soon as we arrived. The wait staff was very knowledgeable over the menu and specials. The food came out very quickly and the quality was excellent!
Our party of 9 was seated on time, but at a table that was meant for 6, very crowded. Food was good, but felt rushed.
We were having a graduation celebration, the food was excellent, the staff was very accommodating and the service was excellent.
The food was terrific and service was great!! We will be back.
Paesanos is a favorite....food is always excellent and this time was no different. Service was not the best this time - our waiter seemed distracted and wasn’t very responsive. Overall, I still love the food and will go back....just hope for a different waiter next time!
VERY good. But- it always is! Shimp paesanos is hands down the best thing on the menu.
