Paesanos - Lincoln Heights
We have been big fans of this restaurant, but noticed a few changes to the food this time around. We love the seafood w pasta and always order the Marinara sauce on pasta. The sauce we were served was more of a can boil tomatoes. And I ordered a garden salad, this was just a salad plate of nothing but lettuce....not much of a garden!
Everything else was fantastic. Hope they go back to original recipes !
Enjoyed a wonderful meal at Paesano’s on Friday night. They were busy as usual, but we had no wait, even tho we were early (6:30) for our 7;00 reservation. Our friend enjoyed the salmon with mushrooms, which looked wonderful. My husband & I each had a small house salad & shared the shrimp Paesano appetizer (NOT to be missed!) & the veal osso buco which was INCREDIBLE!
They were busy, but the food was served promptly and the service was great. We were in the center room, which was a little louder than we prefer, but with a small table, we were all able to hear one another.
Delicious food, attentive service, lovely ambience. Great place to celebrate your birthday. Noisy with sophistication!
I had not been there for quite some time but ordered the Shrimp Paesano and it was excellente as always!
Had a good night only problem I had was a made reservations for a anniversary and called and made sure they got it. When I arrived I told them I had reservations but since they had open seating they didn’t look so they didn’t do anything for our anniversary and we got sat in a terrible spot
have been a customer for many years. The waitstaff was very pleasant, but service was very slow and they did not follow up in a timely manner. Need additional training and attention to detail
We love Paesano's. 1604 is closer to us but they don't take reservations. That makes Paesanos Lincoln Heights a no-brainer.
Our waitress forgot to place one of our five orders and they fell over themselves with apologies. We were just out for a family meal as it was too hot to cook anything; not looking for perfect service. They were clearly more distressed about it than we were. Even gave us two deserts no-charge (very good, BTW)
I would have recommended them highly even without all the fawning about the error. Great food.
Everything was great!! We love celebrating special occasions at Paesano’s
Everything was fantastic as usual. We asked for a table in the corner which was much quieter.
We ordered 2 entrees, the signature shrimp Paesano and the Chicken Alfredo. We got the Shrimp Paesano without the pasta in it, not sure why that happened but they went ahead and brought the pasta that went with it and tossed it in there at the table. The Chicken Alfredo just didn't seem to taste very Authentic, I found the taste to be very similar to that of a Macaroni and Cheese box. The Alfredo sauce has a very "out of the can" flavor. After placing the pasta in the Shrimp Paesano the temperature of the dish just wasn't up to par. Overall I felt that we could've had a much better dinning experience at an Olive Garden, at least there dishes don't taste "out of the Can"
We enjoyed it all except, we were seated at a table next to entrance door of a private room. This meant we were in a tight corner space wise. At the time of our reservation, 1:30 PM there were plenty of empty tables throughout the restaurant. All in all, we did enjoy the meal, our waiter, and the ambiance.
Took a group of 6 for dinner on Tuesday at 7:15 using your app. Worked great !
The service was great. I had the filet / Shrimp Paesano combo. My medium rare wasn't, it was more like medium to medium well. The Shrimp Paesano seemed was lackluster as well. How can this be ?
My friends filet adjacent to me looked just right.
And my other friends 18 oz NY strip looked like 10, maybe. Given the company I was with I wasn't in the mood to cause a ruckus and wait for a re-do, so, IMHO, we over paid and compromised. At least the whiskey was poured right and in all fairness the other folks were very happy. And the desserts were excellent.
Have eaten at Paesano’s since 1969. Always a pleasure.
Paesanos is always a great experience! Delicious food, attentive service, good specials.
Great food and great service, there sea food was fresh and excellent.. there wine Stuart was very helpful, we tried some excellent wine, awesome
The food was delicious and the service was great. We will definately be returning.
Excellent food and service! We loved our waiter. Reservations worked perfectly.
Our waitress was great and the food was superb! Will definitely some back the next time we are in San Antonio!
Great service by staff.
Food was very good.
Tables are too close together-second time this has happened. Why are you over crowding the dining areas? You have plenty of customers? Chairs are very uncomfortable.
Very noisy due to over crowding. We had a table for 8 to celebrate an engagement-it was hard to hear each other speak.
One of our party wanted Eggplant for her entree-was told had to order appetizer version and add on pasta etc at ala carte pricing-why? Paesanos on 1604 allowed it as an entree in the past.
We love your food but will rethink future celebrations due to overcrowding and noise level.
Nice restaurant. Good atmosphere. For the money the food was not worth it. Not terrible but value was not there.
Great food and wine selection. Loud atmosphere
Sometimes going to a special place can be a let down but Paesanos greatly exceeded our high expectations. Everything from food to wine to service and ambiance were very special for our birthday celebration. Ask for Spencer as your server!
Awesome food and service, staff very friendly and an excellent wine list. We will be back
Unfortunately, though I have visited Paesanos many times (the one off of 1604 and Lincoln Heights) and have always had positive interactions, this time we were not so fortunate. We had a reservation for 5:15pm but we were seated early at 4:45pm. While two of us were there early, we were still waiting for our friend who came around 5:10pm. The waitress, an older lady, came to the table immediately, and asked what we wanted to drink. We asked for water and we explained that we were still waiting for our friend. She returned 3-5 minutes later with our water asking us if we were ready to order. We reminded her that we were waiting for our friend who was now parking. When our friend arrived and as she was sitting down, the waitress came immediately and asked her what she wanted to drink, and if we knew what we wanted to order. We kindly explained that our friend would need a few minutes to review the menu. Within 2-4 minutes she returned asking us again what we wanted. At this point I just went ahead and began ordering so that my friend would have enough time to decide. While I was ordering, I asked the waitress if she was towards the end of her shift, or if she was started a new shift, and she said she had started at 3pm. I smiled and said I hoped she would have a good evening. She smiled back and placed our orders. Even in the writing down of orders, we felt rushed to make decisions, and we felt rushed out. She attempted to clear my friend's plate while she was still clearly about to take a bite. This just wasn't her best day and truly the first experience I have had with such poor service. We were being rushed from the very beginning, and it made for an overall poor experience, unfortunately. Admittedly, should I ever be seated in her section again, I will ask to move and gladly wait for another. Paesanos is meant to be an experience and a gathering place. At 5:15pm on Wednesday, we are there to unwind and lose some sense of time (a little bit).
We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and decided to try this location. We’ve been to Paesanos at different locations. The bread and dipping oil they brought seemed like leftovers from another table. The bread was burnt. The amount of oil was about a tablespoon, if that, with maybe 3 flakes of pepper. Our main course meals were good. We noticed all other tables had a basket of garlic bread but we weren’t sure if it came with the meal. We asked for some and it took a long time to get it. Our server seemed new or indifferent. The house salad was simply lettuce with some oil poured over it. Very forgettable. We will never go here again.
The giant calamari was outstanding, as was their signature butter lemon sauce. The salad was very fresh, tasty, and ample. The bread was out of this world. Each of us had a different entree. All three entrees were very delicious. The waiter was great - super attentive, knowledgeable, and great personality. We had plenty of food, so got some take home for another meal.
Great service and food!! Very accommodating!!
Always great ambiance, service and quality of food.
The shrimp Paesano was exceptionally good and our server was outstanding .
This has the ambience of a fine old Italian restaurant -- warm and welcoming. The food is excellent and the staff is friendly and attentive. I put it a notch down from Ann Arbor's very best -- but my elder in-laws definitely prefer it to the town's sleeker, more sophisticated establishments.
Food was not so good. Mediocre at best and that’s a stretch.
In addition to entrees being less than great or good, a side of veggies came raw - uncooked - when our waiter came as we were getting our check and were finished with our meal, I explained why I had not eaten veggies. He said, you know, when I served them u noticed that it appeared that they had not been cooked.
I brought them home with me in a @to go@ box and examined every single veggie - total if 60 pieces - none had been cooked. Ridiculous.
The crew that came to remove our plates weren’t enjoying their job. Not one of the three people removing plates from every side of the table was cordial. All were just getting it done and seemingly eager for us to leave. Not returning to Paesano’s.
And to think we paid about $30 for each plate. Over rated for sure.
There was a hair in the appetizer, there was never and offer to compliment the appetizer, there was flies in the restaurant and in one persons tea a fly was swimming in it, but other than the hair and fly the meal was what you expect at this restaurant.
Main courses served immediately after soups and salads, providing no time to enjoy them. Had to request drink refills. Very disappointed, not like past good experiences.
Great food, lot’s of fun, awesome waiter. I’ve been going for about 40 years now. They never disappoint!
Lovely dining experience! We requested being seated in the Solarium where it was quiet and we could carry on a conversation:)
Perfect for dinner with friends.
Waited at reception desk for over 5 minutes. Finally manager came over and asked if we’d been helped. I had asked for an out of traffic table for our Anniversary dinner. Was seated next to kitchen area.
The restaurant wasn't busy on this Sunday early evening. Waiter, Youssef, was a little slow. We had to pour our own wine, had to ask for water refills multiple times. Tiramisu desert portions were ridiculously small.
Anniversary dinner with family. Noise level a little too high for my mom who wears hearing aids. We all had Steak and Shrimp Paesano which was delicious except I thought the sauce could have used more garlic and lemon. Otherwise service was good and was enjoyed by all.
I am always a fan, as is everyone in my family, of the Shrimp Paesano; however, this go around I found a new favorite in SEA SCALLOPS BÉARNAISE. When we visit San Antonio we always visit here because the food and service and superb. Our friends that tagged along this weekend were so glad we introduced them to this quality Italian restaurant.
