   This is a lovely venue, however, we attended for Mother's Day at a 3:00 p.m. p.m. reservation. Food was mostly cold, very picked over. The staff. Did replace a few items that were completely empty. The potatoes they replaced or extremely salty and very cold. The chicken was delicious. However the sauce had all dried up in the pan. For the price that we paid, gone somewhere else and had a much better experience. The salad dressing for the spinach salad was empty, and there were a couple of pieces of fruit on a large platter. We did not feel taken care of whatsoever.

   We enjoyed the Mother's Day buffet, food was nicely prepared and kept at proper temperature. All stations were kept well stocked and fresh, service was good without being intrusive.

   Ambience is old world with modern touches. Burger with red skin potatoes overwhelming in size but delicious. Crab salad listed as main should have been listed as appetizer. A scoop of crab with no greens on a large plate. On request, slices of baguettes. No oil or butter provided. Both a big disappointment.

   I have dined many times at Paddock Place. A bit pricey but the food is excellent. Not sure why the service was so poor last night. We had a 6:30 reservation with a party of 4. Two different waitresses took our order for starters...we ordered a simple charcuterie as an appetizer and it came out 30 minutes later. Our actual meal didn't show up until 8 pm and then was only brought out for 3 of us...apparently the 4th order had been overlooked and so our companion was not served until 15 minutes later. I will note that the restaurant was not busy. Unsure if there were simply issues with the wait staff or something more but this was a disappointing trip to a place that I've otherwise always enjoyed.

   I’ve been to this restaurant many times and it’s been great… had out of town guests in and had a very bad experience. Sat down at a table of 6 and did not get waited on for 25 minutes. Finally left and went to a different restaurant.

   We had a reservation at 1:15 for a party of 4 adults and arrived about 10 minutes early. We were seated within moments of our arrival. 3 of the 4 adults did order the bloody mary bar and, while delicious, we did notice that it was not greatly restocked at that time of day. They close at 3:00 on Sundays so we were within the last 2 hours of their day, however, we even had to request that they please restock the bloody mary mix. Our server did just that and it was almost immediately used up by several other tables who must have been waiting for refills. Our meals varied from a pizza to a breakfast bowl to a roasted mushroom benedict. All of the meals were amazing! I would not hesitate to return, however, I might not get the bloody mary bar option again if it is later on a Sunday. Overall a very positive experience and our server was busy, but very helpful!!

    Went here for dinner to celebration my daughter's graduation from GVSU. A unique setting. Got a nice corner table in the library. Service was excellent, she continually checked in with us. Drinks are fairly priced. We had the Whipped Honey Feta and Queso Fundido as starters, both were delicious. Meals were good as well. We were too full for dessert.

    We loved this place. Great appetizers and generous portions. Our server was Hannah and she gave just EXACTLY the right amount of attention without being there every second. We had one extra person and Paddock Place was gracious about adding another place setting. This glorious old building is almost back to the grandeur of Gibson's days. Versatile menu for every dining taste. Absolutely recommend.

    I am sad to say that I had my first poor experience at Paddock Place. Typically I love it for the food, the easy parking, and the gorgeous interior. Last night we arrived early and we were seated at 6:00 (even though it was a 6:15) reservation. I was glad because we had an 8:00 show. However, from the time we ordered drinks (which took a while to get), I knew there must be a back up somewhere. Our waitress was trying but also never came back to our table until we requested her. I know the kitchen is to blame but by 7:20 we had to leave without having eaten anything. (And we had ordered the special and a salad.) We wanted to make sure the waitress received some kind of tip for the drinks so we paid for those and the bartender never apologized but just asked if we were just gonna leave our food. It was definitely not great customer service. I hope to return but I am leary to go with a group or friends from out of town.

    There seemed to be short staffed the food room over and hour and a half to come out. The table was offered chips and a percentage off their bill as an apology. We allowed 2 hours for our dinner and it ended up being almost 3 hours.

    On the website, it looked like they would be serving their regular brunch menu. We were surprised when we arrived to find out it was the buffet only. No price was listed on the paper menu we were given. When we asked the waiter, we were again surprised that the buffet was $45, with an up-charge of an additional $10 for the carving station. It was great that they had a roving Easter bunny and an Easter egg hunt for the kids in the garden, but the hunt seemed to be timed at odd intervals, so that kids at tables around us weren't eating very much, since they wanted to rush outside. Our waiter, Alex, was happy and attentive, but some of the other staff, including the general manager, seemed really stressed and trying to clear and set tables with the help of the hostess. This is an elegant restaurant, and all the food was delicious, but we did feel that it was over-priced and that the price was not well communicated.

    Service was very slow. Our server also didn’t put orders in correctly for at least 2 tables, so food came out with the wrong things added or taken away. Portion size was okay, but over priced. Table was too small for our party.

    We’ve eaten here numerous times and it’s one of our favorite restaurants. However on this occasion we noted that The facility is in need of repairs. Crumbling brick near the main entrance. Several LARGE potholes in the drive, etc.

    We went here for our anniversary and the food was amazing. The staff were wonderful and overall we had a positive experience. There was a large party near us and we could only occasionally hear them so it was quiet enough for us.

    Great! I rarely give a 5 star review. Food was good as well as drinks. Service good as well. Loved sitting by the fire however - not sure logistically if it’s possible to move that table a bit further. We kept changing seats as the seat directly by the fire gets way too hot.

    It was our first time there, and it was our servers first night working. Out of our group we all ordered something different and everybody loved their food. Drinks were pricey and small but also delicious. I would recommend going and will go back again.
