As a vegan it was great to have 3 vegan options to choose from. I enjoyed my meal and cocktail. My husband thought his meal was just okay. For $28 he was hoping it would be really good. He was also disappointed with the beers you had on tap. He prefers darker beers. We signed up for the free tour which was short, but fun to be able to see other parts of the mansion.
The menu wasn’t great. Not a lot of options for those with a simple pallet. No substitutions, couldn’t switch the bun on my burger, they added sour cream to the pot pie and the menu didn’t list sour cream. The menu is creative, but they forgot not everyone likes creative pairings.
We enjoyed dinner next to a cozy fire in a beautiful room. Definitely a wonderful spot for a date night. I had the coconut curry which was delicious. Our server was wonderful. Great experience. We plan to go back.
Great atmosphere
appetizer....crispy red potatoes was amazing. Server was great....
salad poor.
Great service, great food, quiet atmosphere, will go back
The outdoor setting was beautiful and our server was great!
Our waiter Mike was great! He helped me with my dietary restrictions, gave great recommendations from appetizer to dessert! You have to try the Strawberry Cheesecake Macaroon!
A beautiful location for a restaurant. Our server was painfully slow and not very knowledgeable. He served one meal and 15 minutes later the rest of us got our meals. Water glasses were left empty and the dessert selection was pitiful. The food was good but not amazing.
Great food, great service, fantastic ambiance...never disappoints!
The happy hour pricing was good but we had to ask and the server seemed disappointed we asked. The order didn't come out correctly but they were very busy. Overall, especially for the price, I was disappointed. The only good thing was the ambiance. If we were to go back, we would choose the lawn option
While I still have fond memories of when this restaurant was Mangiamo, my family was very impressed with our dining experience. The old charm of the mansion’s atmosphere remains, as well as the great service and top-tier cocktails. The meals, the featured carbonara, the Paddock Place burger, and chicken of the Forest, while delicious, were served a little cold and the chicken was more dry than preferred. That being said, we all look forward to returning for drinks in the cozy bar or out on the lawn on a warm afternoon.
Very cool, historic building! Our waitress said that it was haunted and gave us a brief history of the place. Food was delicious and appropriately priced.
Very interesting, food was good, not too highly priced, staff was SO nice, ambiance was very different. Felt like I was at my grand parents?
I felt the service was slow, wait staff unfriendly, and Sadly several items on the menu were unavailable despite it being a 6:30 reservation and not busy.
The service and food were excellent. The weather out on the back patio was perfect and everyone was practicing respectful social distancing and mask-wearing when away from their tables. We always enjoy our visits to Paddock Place and Thursday was no exception.
Our server/bartender was excellent! He made great drinks and provided just the right amount of service. The food unfortunately was just ok which is surprising because the description was so well written you expected that to be what you ordered. One meal arrived cold as if it had been left to thaw, two were the same entree one with extra spice and one as described, nothing to rave about and the last was a pizza that was more greens than dough and cheese. The location is beautiful with a lovely outside. Unfortunately not what we expected and left disappointed.
Lovely place. Very slow service. Cocktails were good.
This was our first visit to the restaurant. Our waiter, Michael, was five-star and made the dining experience all the more pleasurable. The food was delicious and came with excellent presentation. I would highly recommend to all her looking for a unique place for dining experience. The history in the building alone is worth a visit!
Great place, anniversary dinner. My meat was burned, charred, when I ordered medium well. Bummer because it was my first time there. Husbands meal was good.
Awesome outdoor seating. Food was good. Warning, the bruschetta is a meal itself.
Good pizza. Live entertainment was nice.
It is early in the "opening", and the waitress "T" was the best.
The pork chops were quite thin, and the sauce was a bit more spicy than what we expected.
We wished we could have eaten in the front room with the table cloths, which we later found out that it was open.
All in all, we'll be back I'm sure with group(s). Good luck on the opening.
Unfortunately, we were at Mangiamo's on Thursday night, two days before their closing. The staff was disheartened. The food was so-so. I thought it was dishonest not to inform customers of the planned closing on Saturday. Our meal was an anniversary celebrartion and was a let-down to put it mildly.
Our second restaurant for Restaurant Week GR, we were surprised by the beautiful setting and home right in town. Oh the history!! Beautiful. We ordered from the restaurant week menu and our food was brought in a timely fashion. Unfortunately, our octopus was extremely overdone and chewy, the flavor was awesome but several times we were tempted to dispense our bite into a napkin simply because we weren't getting anywhere with chewing. My steak was medium well when I ordered medium rare. The creme brulee went unfinished as they tasted so burnt and that was the taste that stuck with us for hours after. We also noticed consistency is not their thing. The table next to us ordered almost the exact menu items as they were there for restaurant week as well, and my steak came as a filet mignon type cut (equally as tall as wide) and theirs came thin and long. He had ordered rare and got medium. My husband ordered the seafood dish and enjoyed it but it was nothing remarkable and we noticed that other tables who had ordered the same dish got large spoons in their dish, where my husband did not. The creme brulee dish was served to us on a little plate with a spoon and the table next to us received the creme brulee dish only and a fork, no plate. The paper on the table is annoying. Our waitress was charming and did a great job. I drink only water at every restaurant I go to and for some reason, this water was nasty. I asked if they had bottled water (never asked for bottled water before) and she was very sweet and accommodating. Thank you for that. The manager made an appearance but not at our table or any of the tables in our row EXCEPT for a table with several young ladies whom he frequently returned to, and even made their waiter work around him while he hung out. Very unprofessional. We are glad we tried it but we will not return, there are so many wonderful options in the city and nearby areas.
I love the atmosphere of this lovely old stately home. We met with some traveling friends for a business meeting and it was perfect for conversation. I ordered the steak which was too well done. The others ordered the baseball size meatball and spaghetti, which is a favorite and always good. For desert we loved the chocolate truffle and tiramisu both excellent. I haven't been during the day but the home is so beautiful by evening lamplight. Mangiamo!
Beautiful place! The only thing I would change is the paper tablecloths! It was kind of annoying. Cloth tablecloths are much better!
We enjoyed the evening with friends, location is good as it is only a few miles from home, choice selections were varied from complete entree' to sandwich or burger.
Wonderful meal in an intriguing home. Our waiter, Joe, did a fine job; attentive without 'hovering'. He endorsed the Brussel sprouts and he was right, they were exceptional. Special acknowledgment goes to Jose, the truffle maker. Absolutely made my husband's night!
The restaurant location is lovely but our meals were just mediocre. Three out of four of us had chicken as part of our meals and all of our chicken was over-cooked and chewy. My husband's veal dish was very chewy as well. The brussel sprouts appetizer was delicious. Dessert was unremarkable. So all in all, just "meh". We won't be returning...too many other GR restaurants to try!
Nothing like our first visit years ago. High marks on flavor. One meal was small in portion. One (the Chefs Choice) was a little dry. One of us got sick on the way home. He was the only one who had the Mussels. Disappointed!
You need to update your online menu. Saw a few items I liked and was disappointed when they were not featured on the actual menu.
We went there to celebrate our mom's birthday. Our waiter was terrible. We waited over 20 minutes for our drinks and 90 minutes for our food. My son's "rare" steak was so overdone it was like a hockey puck; he sent it back. There were 11 of us and not one of us enjoyed our meal. Most of us just didn't eat them. I have NEVER written a negative review before but this place earned it. We were hoping for so much more given the occasion.
This restaurant was a great place for the 6 girls to come and enjoy italian food and celebrate the bachelorette! Great service, great place, awesome outdoor pictures :)
We always enjoy Mangiamo. They accommodated our big group on short notice. The food was delicious. The night we were there the service seemed slower than normal.
We made a reservation and were taken to our table right away. The server gave us ample time to look over the menu. Once we ordered we had our food in around 15-20 minutes! Everything was delicious! From the time we arrived to the time we left it was about an hour. Great food, great service, and our guests were impressed.
The restaurant is a beautiful place, with lots of character. From the architecture with vaulted ceilings, To the stained glass art piece by the bar. The place is very well put together for fine dining or a beer at the bar.
Food had a nice variety of options. We had sampled the Pasta. So received the fresh bread.
location was amazing with large parking lot and Prime location, right in the center of where you wanted to be.
It was pouring rain when we came in, they were offering free valet parking to accommodate. Restaurant was a bit empty, as other diners left we were the only ones seated in our section which made it more difficult to get our waitresses attention. Otherwise it was lovely. Food was great! Time well spent.
Again, a great time at Mangiamo! Went for our birthday (twin sister and I) and brought our Golden Retrievers out with us on the patio! Service was great, and very helpful with getting the pups some water and even a little ice cream snack! It was my sisters first time, and she loved it! Food was perfect as always! We love Mangiamo!!!!
This was our third visit to Mangiamo! and it never disappoints. The menu is varied so one is not locked in with Italian cuisine, though that is what we always opt for. Service is excellent and the atmosphere is elegant but not pretentious, well worth the drive if you're outside of GR and a great place for special occasions. It's a bit pricey but the portions are generous and the food is very good--lasagna is the best I've ever had! Also, for an early dinner, say 5:30-6, I believe wine is half price. All in all, this is an excellent choice for a special night out
