Paddlefish Ratings and Reviews
Our 4th visit & have not been disappointed yet. I love the Saffron Martini & my husband always gets the admiral. Our favorite appetizer is the Lobster hot Dogs. Not to worry - no hot dogs included. Delicious & very different! Conch chowder is another favorite . The crab ceviche is wonderful so is the Fried Green Tomatoes. Actually everything is good! Our waiter Banda was very attentive & has waited on us several times. He is very accommodating & knowledgeable about the food & its preparation. Go you will love it!
It was a great experience however if you put in your reservation it’s your first date after giving birth to your 2 month old and it happen to be your 2 year wedding anniversary (all was noted) I would not sit the couple by the well (area where all drinks are made and servers chat) for dinner in the bar. There were plenty of tables in the main dining room with beautiful romantic views for an anniversary. Not next to where the servers talk about their day and what they are doing that night. Loved the food and service, the hostess just needs more training on seating.
We were not overly impressed the first time that we tried Paddlefish (To be fair, it had just opened.), but this visit changed our minds. :) The food was excellent, our server, Shara, was wonderful! We sat outside, and the view is the best! We will definitely be back often. 👏👍
It would’ve been nice if they actually have gluten free pasta when they say they cater to gluten free or anyone with allergies.
Second, the lobster roll was average. The ones that we get from the food truck are so much better for $29/plate. It was also so small, I was hungry 30 mins after the meal. The fries that came with it was nothing special.
My daughter had to get grilled chicken, as mentioned, they didn’t have any gluten free pasta. The chicken not only was loaded with salt but so dry.
Couple of good things I can say about this place is that the service was excellent and that the outside dining was nice especially for a beautiful day in Florida. She went back and forth to make sure we get our daughter something she would also enjoy.
BUT, never coming to this place again.
Would never go back!
The restaurant was virtually empty yet our group of 4 was assigned a table in the very crowded bar area. Despite other empty sections of the restaurant , the only alternative offered was to sit outside on a very windy day. We tried but the sight of birds sitting on the empty unclean tables nibbling on crumbs was not a sight we wanted to see while we had lunch. I am shocked that the restaurant would rather lose a customer than to accommodate. We ended up next door at the Boathouse Restaurant - highly recommended for service, food and ambiance!
The service was excellent and the seat location was great and pleasant. It was enjoyable occasion bu the food was not as impressive as photos. I did not think the cheese grits and shrimp was worth $30, because of the taste was nothing special. I can get better dish locally.
The atmosphere was nice and I would recommend for those who seek nice setting for a get together.
The Paddlefish is a very good restaurant with a lot of high quality food. My wife and I both enjoyed our time, and we had a very good experience overall, but there's a lot that feels like it's slipped from the old Fulton's Crab House days.
For one, it's a high class dinner that has dropped to only fashionable decor. It seems a bit pedantic to note, but I can get "chic" style at a Panera or another "hip" restaurant. I expected slightly higher class from Paddlefish, and while the atmosphere was nice, it certainly wasn't the atmosphere I expected from a place that serves premiere, top-quality food. That said, I understand the attempt to reach outside the normal crowds. However, by doing so without dropping the prices of the food, it's still a luxury experience, but with slightly less glitz and glamor, and that takes a bit of the punch out of the experience. I happily dropped over $200 on a meal for two, but didn't feel like I was in a $100-per-person restaurant.
The food was very good, however. I got a boil while my wife got the pork chops. They were both cooked perfectly and were a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I'd rate that a solid 10/10 and would readily recommend it again.
As for the service, it was very prompt and well-received, but if I have one tiny gripe (it's insignificant, really), it's that we had to box our own food at the end of the night. I understand the sentiment of letting me box my own food so I can get it right, but considering that there are chain restaurants that box my food for me, why wouldn't that be the case here, especially if I dressed up for the dinner? Seems weird.
These are mostly nit-picking, though. Overall, the food was good, the service was quick, the prices were luxury-level (but the food matched it, so it's solid), and I had fun. Just... felt like it was missing the je ne sais quoi you would expect from a luxury restaurant. I expected I'd be under-dressed, and instead felt just right, if not slightly over-dressed.
Excellent service, wonderful food, perfect cocktails. Had table by the window on the second floor facing the lake. Just as a heads up, view by the windows on the 1st floor is nicer. But no complaints here. Started off with PROHIBITION MAI TAI
Scarlet Ibis, orgeat, banana liqueur, fresh lime, Scrappy Orleans, amarena cherry $17. Very well made, very strong. My husband had an Old Fashion (can’t remember price), also very well made & strong. They do have a full service bar & a fairly extensive wine list. Had the 1/2 chicken with Carolina mop sauce, edamame-smoked bacon succotash (had the succotash changed for regular mashed potatoes $27). My husband has the SHRIMP AND GRITS Cheddar grits, spicy black pepper butter sauce (very good portion- 6 large shrimp $30). We were too full for desert, but everything on menu looked very good too. There is also a rooftop bar in which there is live music on Friday & Saturday nights. Would definitely return & recommend restaurant.
The waiter was displayed excellent customer service and I wish I remembered the guys name, though the food was VERY dissapointing. Firstly, it was cold. Not warm, but actually cold. I had the shrimp boil, which was more of a shrimp stew, had several overcooked, mushed shrimp in it. The flavor was bland, nor was it spicy. The corn and potatoes were not boiled, but baked and roasted. When I see shrimp boil, or crawfish boil, that's what I expect. My wife had the clam linguini, which featured very little clam and a cluster of empty shells. I expected much better from Paddlefish. We ate the food and did not let our disappointment show because the waiter, again, did a awesome job. My wife and I expected much more.
I see alot of negative reviews about this restaurant, but on the other hand I believe people try to get something for nothing by complaining,if you look at the reviews you have fives and ones, really,I went outside the box and went on the servers recommendat ion ,Pork ossu bucco, unreal how good it was, not to mention the cheapest meal we had to date, will definately be going back!
Visited for lunch on a Monday and it wasn't a long wait, but it wasn't cheap (then again, what in Disney is cheap). Husband and I went in on a lobster themed lunch with the lobster corn dog appetizer and lobster roll meal. The appetizer was unique, fresh, well seasoned with a remoulade sauce and a refreshing slaw garnish to balance the flavor. We would have been happy to eat nothing but that for the rest of the day. The lobster roll was well stuffed and not to heavy a meal with a side of fries. I did have to add S&P for my taste, but the meat was cooked perfectly and not tough at all. Although it was a pricey lunch (b/c lobster), on another vacation we would be likely to repeat visit Paddlefish for the good quality and the lobster corn dogs for sure.
We went there to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We requested a window seat and had a beautiful view. My husband chose the fish sandwich and I HAD to have the lobster roll. The portions were plenty and absolutely delicious. Of course we left room for dessert. My husband had the chocolate bourbon pecan tart and I ordered the charred carrot cake. Both were amazing. Kudos to Corey our waiter and what a nice surprise that my husband’s dessert was on the house. We had a wonderful lunch and look forward to returning!
This was our 4th visit and we look forward to going back. Food is incredible. The lobster corn dogs are incredibly delicious. Eat those while you ponder the rest of the menu. My husband loves the conch chowder. Very close to what we ate in the Bahamas! I love the Crab Ceviche. Lots of crab & very delicious. Then we split the Crab boil. Super! A very good place to enjoy good food; appreciate superb service; relax on the water with a good view. The cock tails are very original & delicious. Please try one or two!
The appetizer of Calamari was great but then it took approximately 30 additional minutes to get our main course. Burger and a crab cake Blt. They were both ambient temperature and the fries were cold. Guests that arrived after us were served their food before us. Was really looking forward to eating there but it was not as good as I remembered when it was Fulton’s crab house.
