We were warmly greeted at the door, and were seated right away. Hospitality is very good. Cubano sandwich was freshly prepared, tasted very good, but was not anything special. The quesadilla my partner had was small but very tasty. The dessert menu is not their forte. Overall a good experience.
Food was beyond exceptional, drinks flawless, staff was very knowledgeable, ambiance was A1 ... Definitely recommend.
Absolutely in love with Pacifico. The food is absolutely amazing.
Great meal... short walk to Shubert Theater on snowy night.
Outstanding! Great cocktails apps and several great entrees. Wonderful experience.
A return visit three weeks on from the first. Once again the food is interesting - not "way out", but quite creative and certainly very tasty. Nice large tapas size portions, so three dishes more than enough for one. I happened not to like my beet salad, but that might just have been me on the day. Delicious calamari with Jalapeño peppers and rich succulent ribs. So - nothing really unusual, but much better than in most other places. On this occasion, the music - which had been so intrusive last time - was really at a perfectly reasonable level I'd have preferred to have had none, but recognise being in a small minority here!
I'd recommend Pacifico highly if you want this kind of eating in New Haven and are prepared to pay a little above basic prices, but not through the roof.
I was really excited to try this place out. They've been around for a while and the reviews were pretty good. Definitely bummed out to have such a mediocre experience. Our reservation was 7:30pm - it took over 20 minutes to be seated. That's a pet peeve of mine - restaurants that can't manage time. The service was pretty bad. Our waitress was not attentive and didn't speak English very well. She may have been new - but that's no excuse. The food was good. Thank God. Overall the initial wait and the service was a downer.
I took the time to make a reservation in advance. When we got there, the table was very small and didn’t fit all of us. I asked them to add another table and I got major attitude in return. The service was very slow and had to wait forever just to get water glasses refilled. Then they brought the bill at the end and didn’t even mention that the tip was added already in the total. Only on your way out that said: oh and by the way, the tip was included in the total bill amount ... SMH!
Had a great dinner with a very friendly manager and his staff that worked hard to find vegan options for me. This was a fantastic experience.
Great food. Our server Tom was exceptional. Will be back.
Everything thing was great. Server/bartender was great except for forgetting our entree was great
What's an antonym for accommodating? Pacifico. This place wouldn't alter anything on the menu and wouldn't split the check into our two parties. The chef obviously has a superiority complex, because what right-minded person wouldn't alter a meal, especially for allergies? And then when we spoke to the manager, he put it on us - "you should have spoken with me, it's impossible to alter meals." It is not my responsibility to prep you to do your job before I arrive (PS I did when I made the reservation). After stating our concerns to the manager, he finally backed down and gave us a gift card (which I find pointless because I don't want to return). How is Wendy's more accommodating than this $$ restaurant? If I'm spending $30 on a terrible risotto, I expect some ability to adjust. Moral of the story: the customer is always wrong at Pacifico.
8 women in corner table by the window - service was outstanding, interesting drinks and best salmon I ever had. Great choice
We had a fantastic waiter (John) who took great care of our large (10), boisterous group with such patience and professionalism. The rest of the wait staff who assisted John was very courteous and knowledgeable.
Food was not as good as I had remembered. Not as exciting or innovative.
My first experience was weird because the waiter gave me a look, as if I was too “dressed down” and not Caucasian enough to pay... so he asked someone else to take my table. The woman who took care of me was super professional and I paid 25% for a tip. I overheard the man ask her if I “tip” or not.. this was uncomfortable and unprofessional of him. I decided to give the restaurant a second chance, and took my boyfriend out to eat the next day... I got a another waiter.. again the same look the first waiter gave me.. only that this time he didn’t even bother to look at me in the eyes. He never checked on my table to ask me if the food was good, or anything. In all honesty, I will never again go to this restaurant. You must look like you have good money and be closer to Caucasian to even get treated nicely.
Will not be missing the food, the location, or the service.
Six of us had lunch on Saturday, February 17. Parking building across the street. Reservation cheerfully acknowledged. Competent, courteous, helpful service. Dishes looked kinda “foodie”, very nicely plated. Everything tasted very autentico and very, very good.
We will return.
This was our first time there. We met our son, who goes to school in the area, for dinner. The seafood plater was tremendous with lots of mussels. Personally I would have opted for more clams or shrimp but my husband and son really enjoyed it. We ate on the earlier side on a Friday night and was seated upstairs so I don't know if it was just the hour we were eating but it was very nice and quiet enough to have conversation. I wasn't expecting this, being so close to the school. I would recommend you try it!
Our food was delicious - as always. My first preference when dining in New Haven.
Wait staff was sluggish at first but changed once we ordered.
Went there on V-day and left very frustrated and unsatisfied. We were received by unfriendly host that did not smile at all. Food was the worst, it was very bland and had no flavor (stuff chicken and shrimp ravioli). Food portion was very small and we were still hungry after we left. Desert was no better. All this for $129 that I felt was wasted, I was not satisfied at all! Host also need to smile and greet guess as if she likes working there. Overall, I felt it was not worth the money I spent , food did not taste good and I left feeling unsatisfied and robbed at the amount I paid for!
Quality of the food was very good, although it was noticably" toned down" from the traditional menu. Service was good & cordial, despite the very busy evening.b
Our dinners & Sangria wrre delicious. Service was very good. Our onky criticism is that the wine bottles near the cookng area were covered in a layer of dust! Not appetizing.
Excellent restaurant, good food and very nice presentation of the plates.
The food is amazing!! Manager and staff very attentive. It's a great place to go for dinner. It can get packed at night so make reservations.
Very nice place. Great location. Food was good not great. One meal came out well after the others. We would definitely try it again.
Upscale Latin Restaurant. The food was very delicious and authentic. I like that the ingredients are very fresh which is key to great food. The cocktails were nothing short of AMAZING!
The service was great and the waiters were very attentive for a party of 10. I would definitely come back here if I'm in the mood to be catered to. This is a perfect place to celebrate especially with large groups of people. I would definitely get a reservation.
This is our new favorite restaurant. Absolutely wonderful, imaginative cuisine. We loved every item we had. We had the guacamole with handmade chips (to die for), the sardines, (just like I had in Spain), the Ceviche (one of the best versions I have ever had), the house bread with the red pepper dip, for apps, along with Blackberry Margaritas. WOW! Where those delicious!
My son Had the Paella, which was loaded with shrimp, scallops, mussells and my taste of it was excellent. I'm pretty particular as my mother made the best, and this may have been better. I had the Sea Bass which was done in a very interesting fashion. They filleted the whole fish and then lightly breaded and baked. You have to see this dish. Very impressive and absolutely perfect!! We didn't have time for dessert as we ha a show to see. We should have stayed for desert. The show stunk, we would have had a better time staying for desert.
Every meal has been very good. Enjoy trying creative appetizers
In brief: really creative and imaginative fusion cooking. Possibly the tastiest of our many New Haven eating experiences- now 13!
But sadly we will not be back. Only one reason: the noise level of the music was almost - for us - unbearable and conversation had to be by almost shouting. And they told us that when the DJ starts at 22.30 it is altogether a new experience!
But for many the music will not be a problem, so be warned, but if you are happy with this music, then we’d recommend Pacifico highly. If not, better avoided.
Outstanding food with flair, expertly prepared. Being a Saturday night just prior to a show at the Shubert across the street, it was very busy and noisy. The noise was exacerbated by loud music, which made conversation difficult so that diners had to raise their voices. That’s fine for a bar, but we were dining upstairs in the main restaurant. Service was mostly fine, but the wait between our tapas appetizers and our entree was painfully long. My wife loved the sea bass special and cranberry salad and I was very pleased with the fish tacos. I actually had two tapas dishes for an entree, including short ribs. They were not ribs at all, but fried dough stuffed with meat and cheese; very tasty but not what I expected. Next time I’ll inquire before ordering. The calamari was also delicious. I would certainly recommend this restaurant for the food quality, but the noise level and obnoxious music will likely keep us from returning.
Never really had a bad meal there (and been many times) but the other night was the best every. Great place. Highly recommend it.
Fantastic atmosphere and great food. Music was a bit loud but it was still pleasant. The staff were very friendly. I ordered a Beets tartar--which was one of the best I have ever had the pleasure of consuming--and the paella, which was also fantastic.
Good for appetizers and drinks. Try the queso fundido and bacon-wrapped dates, but don't bother with the paella.
It was really cold New Years Eve and where we sat the breeze from the windows was bad. My husband move to the other side of the table it didn’t warm up until we were having dessert. Other than being cold the service was food and the food was great.
This was a good experience overall. Happy to find something that was open on Christmas! Food was great and service was good. Tables are kind of close though.
Excellent service, very tasty food. We ate there Christmas night. Our group was 4 picky eaters. We all found something that we were excited to order. We all enjoyed our meals! Will go there again for sure.
Went to Pacifico for Christmas Eve meal. The food was good, service was fair. Long wait times for drinks and between courses. Would be a good place for lunch or get together with friends, but not a "family" celebration with children/teens.
Great neighborhood Latin gem! Excellent ambiance, food, and service. I plan on going back--still thinking about the shrimp and scallops 😋!
Went on a date. Sat up stairs the food was good, great service and not too loud.
Brought our daughter to her first ballet. So convenient from the Schubert Theater.
