I've enjoyed Pacifico in the past. This time I just felt like the service was a little lack luster. It could be because it was late in the evening. Staff gets tired. I just didn't appreciate the vibe of the server. Even when it came time time to reconcile the bill, his attitude seemed a bit frustrated. He spilled my drink upon bringing it to the table but never wiped it up never oysters to
Always a pleasure with pleasant staff and delicious food. A favorite stop!
The biggest issue we had with this restaurant was service. Our waitperson was not friendly and it took longer than expected to get our main courses and desserts.
I had the Shrimp Ceviche and my husband had the Burrata. The Ceviche was mediocre (too much citrus vinaigrette) and the Burrata was excellent. Both main courses were very tasty. I had the Seared Salmon and my husband had the chicken.
As this was Restaurant Week in New Haven the restaurant offered a price fixed menu. So we finished the meal with a dish of Mango sorbet.
This restaurant would not be my first choice when I return to this area.
great food, great environment. Not many people at noon.
It was okay. Nothing stellar about it. I don’t know if I would return.
Restaurant week at pacifico was wonderful. I enjoyed the ambiance and being right in the heart of downtown was awesome! it was my first time ever eating there and I would go back any time.
We dined during Resturant Week, so we chose from a prix fixe menu. The portions were rather small and my soup and salmon had very little flavor. Their server was pretty nice until she left before serving our dessert, giving us the check, or saying good night. Someone else, maybe a manager, came to close us out. I probably won’t go back. :(
The restaurant week menu was beautiful! The service was a bit rough, but we managed a very fun, very long celebratory dinner. Thanks!
Absolutely spectacular meal. We will 100% be back!
Food was delicious the service was very good and we had a lovely time. I can’t wait to go back. The only negative was it was a little loud upstairs
Good food and nice atmosphere.
Outdoor lunchtime dining for New Haven Restaurant Week. Glad to see the lomo saltado is on the regular dinner menu. It was wonderful. Nice to see all 3 restaurants set up New York style for outdoor dining.
Great service and the food was perfect! Each dish we got was better than the one we previously finished!
Pacifico does a nice job.. ate during restaurant week .. ceviche was excellent so was the fish. Outside dining is on the street level with LOTS of traffic and activity. Not much anyone could do about that but if you are looking for a quiet dinner... outside is not the place to be.
It's been awhile since I dined at Pacifico. But, it was really great to be back and enjoy the really creative flavors of that kitchen. Wonderful salmon tartare and duck quesidillas. Will return!
We were there for a weekend lunch/brunch. The good: the food tasted good (although nothing special) and it was nice to have the outdoor seating as we aren't comfortable yet eating indoors. The not as good: we waited a really long time for our food and so did other tables, the portions were small for the two-course brunch menu, and the waiter seemed inexperienced (I understand staffing is hard for restaurants right now). The way the online menu worked, it seemed as if we could only order off of the brunch menu but it seemed other tables were able to order other items -- it would have been good for the waiter to explain what menus were available. It would also have been nice for them to check on us to see if we wanted more water or to order more drinks -- no one came to check to see if we needed anything past just delivering our food. It sounds like this restaurant focuses far more on dinner dining.
Tapas and Mojitos were delicious!
Pacifico has evolved a lively outdoor dining scene. The menu is always interesting and the service is friendly and attentive.
Great food and excellent service.
As always the food was excellent. Inside is a little louder but still great ambiance and service
Found ourselves looking for a place to eat on Labor Day; a lot of restaurants were closed. Had been wanting to try Pacifico for awhile so when I saw lots of availability on Open Table we decided to head over. It was in between reservation times so we just walked up (about 7:50pm) … the host? Manager? asked if we had reservations, we said no… he cut us off, saying he had no tables, we could sit at the bar. Ok. My bf was annoyed that he had been so dismissive… I checked the app again & was able to make a reservation for 8pm which was less than 10 minutes away. We showed the guy and he said “just because Open Table seats you, doesn’t mean we have a table “. Ummm… really? It’s literally called OPEN TABLE
A few minutes later they moved us to a table. IN THE BAR. In the meantime, over the next 30 minutes , 2 other couples walked up with NO RESERVATIONS (we could hear them!) and were seated outside. Needless to say , this was not a great experience. We decided to stay because we were pretty hungry. I ordered the short ribs and chicken enchilada off of the Tapas menu. The ribs were great! The enchilada… not so much. It tasted like cilantro and nothing else. I’m not a cilantro hater, but this was just overpowering. Disgusting, actually. Bf got the Lomo Saltado … it was just ok. Like, meh.
I have to say the bartender and the rest of the staff were really friendly and nice. It WAS busy, but not unreasonably so. I don’t know what that hosts problem was with is, but we definitely won’t be back.
Delicious food and great service. This place never disappoints. We love the paella and lomo saltado. Starters and cocktails were great as well.
Pacifico was awsome.. Just know at this time of year almost all of the seating is outside... Our first table was outside almost on the street.. after finally getting a table inside where the music and restaurant vibe was happening everything was great ! Not a complaint just an observation
Only if the chocolate cake wasn’t sold out. That would of been the perfect topper. Shrimp and scallops was so good. Crab cake appetizer was so yummy but a tad small for the price. Very nice staff. Will be going back.
Outside eating area was a plus! Large space. It is loud being that it is close to a well travelled road. ( we were there on Sunday)
Hostess was very pleasant. Waitress was great!! The food was soooo good. Loved it. It does take some time for food to come out but nothing that is too long that you would be upset. Definitely going back!!
We sat outside so we could people watch. This corner is right where all the action is for New Haven Nightlife. It didn’t disappoint. The food was excellent and the service was on point.
The service was horrible but the drinks were amazing. Great for cocktails but go somewhere else for food.
Delicious food and friendly staff. Nice ambience as well. Gets more of a club atmosphere later in the night on weekends.
We had a lovely time - delicious tapas and lovely atmosphere.
7 top get together w out of town friends. Service was great, food expensive considering portion but beautiful and tasty. Waitress went out of her way to point out mandatory tip for this size group which was unusual. Parking across street was comped. I would certainly recommend this restaurant. Air conditioning weak was only issue. Updraft needs makeup air. Thanks to Pacifico!
Got a table outside but conversation was difficult due to blaring sirens, souped-up motorcycles and cars.
We justt needed a light supper and the choice was just fine.
Excellent food and service. We sat outside on a beautiful night! Thank you!
The waiter screwed up our order and refused to take responsibility for it. We repeated the order twice to him. We know we didn't screw it up because one person at our table has shell fish allergies. We would of never order what he brought us.
We also told him he brought us the wrong wine, he said it is the correct wine you have to drink it.
i would walk out of the restaurant if he was ever my waiter again.
The food was delicious and the service got better after an initial delay in getting to order, however the waiter was friendly. Wasn’t impressed that the photo of a drink they used as an entry to their menu was not available as it was just a special. Not sure why you would advertise a product you don’t have on a regular basis. I asked if I could get something similar with Tajin seasoning around the rim, only to be told they didn’t have that behind the bar either. Noise level was a bit more energetic and loud than I would prefer but it had nothing to do with the restaurant but rather the inconsiderate motorcycle riders and cars that would rev their engines and blast their obnoxious music. Not somewhere I would take someone on a romantic date unless you’re ok with frequent distractions due to the vehicles driving by. I didn’t go inside so maybe it’s a bit quieter in there. Overall it was a good meal, just not sure it’s a place I will return.
We sat outside, so we were subject to multiple motorcycle parades, no fault of the resto. Food was so delicious that I wish the portions were bigger.
Our experience was very negative because of the poor service. First, they forgot about us after asking us to wait 5 min for our table. Then, when we were finally seated after we reminded them, we had to wait 15 minutes and flag down a server ourselves, because nobody showed up for our order. He took our drinks and appetizer orders, and we said we needed a few minutes to decide on the entrees. He never returned for the entree order and we had to flag down a server again, when we had almost finished our appetizers. The entree took VERY long to arrive (more than 25 minutes) and we had finished our appetizers long before then. It took another 20 minutes after we finished to get the check, because nobody showed the slightest interest in us or checked on our table. Meanwhile, the couple next to us was complaining about the silverware being dirty!
We will not be returning to this establishment.
The menu asks that guests spend no more than 90 minutes at the table, a reasonable request. 90 minutes after sitting down the only thing that had come out were 2 tapas as appetizers and drinks. Mains took well over 60 min after the appetizer course. The tapas were quite good but both mains were bland. This restaurant does not bring clean silverware for mains and did not clear dirty appetizer plates until asked. Both pet peeves and a sign of poor service and a lack of care for guests. Stick to tapas and you might be ok.
Bright and vibrant atmosphere, refreshing and delicious cocktails, perfectly balanced and flavorful dishes (each one of them, no exceptions) all accompanied by top notch service … a casual place with everything to offer, must go !
Drinks were on point and food was amazing. Our server was helpful and kind. We will return.
