Pacifica Seafood Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
I was here two years ago on my last trip to the desert. I thought it was better two years ago. I had the Ahi Tartar and felt the way it was before was better than the current version. Overall our meal was good but I did not feel the wow, I got on my first visit.
Cold outside with heaters, so hot and cold all evening. Waiter recommended half orders for two guests. Both were still hungry after half order. Ordered the second half and were annoyed. A man and a woman.
Over all not a relaxing time because of above described issues.
We had booked and requested a specific table for an anniversary dinner. Flowers were ordered for the occasion and delivered to the restaurant in advance. I was told they could not guarantee the table but would "do their best". We arrived to the table we had requested with our flowers in place. Ordered our favorite scallop appetizer that keeps us coming back again and again - our waiter Sam was attentive but not overbearing and the rest of the wait staff were on point. In the end Sam brought us a celebration dessert - We were thrilled. Thank you Pacifica.
Pacifica Seafood has been one of our favorite restaurants, the food is usually exceptional.
However, 01-14 was so disappointing. The server told us that the menu was new and was being adjusted. The signature Seabass was not well liked by my foodie son, "mushy, the sauces in conflict, not the usual wonderful dish".
I was disappointed, the Swordfish was off the menu, I look forward to it at Pacifica, prepared like no other at Pacifica, so beautiful. The sides available did not appeal, nor did other available fish selection.
I had a wedge salad and asparagus ( it was not on the menu, the server knew it was available)
Our server was excellent, an absolute professional.
Please advise, we would love to return when the menu is altered.
We have been going to this restaurant for a number of years. It is one of our favorites in the Desert. Usually the food is very good. The last dinner was very good, except for the Caesar salads. They were very salty, and had a strong (too strong) taste of anchovies. The server brought my wife a substitute bowl of chowder, which she liked. The service was very good.
We always come here when in town. It is consistently fabulous! The specialty drinks did not disappoint! Next, we had Crab cakes, stuffed dates
as our appetizers and we were off to a yummy start! All of our entrees were scrumptious, fresh and seasoned perfectly. I loved being able to get a small portion of the sea bass. Perfect size for me! It was just mouth watering lay addictive! The sauce was light and very good . My daughter in law is a scallop lover and she said hers were the best she had ever tasted. My husband ordered the mustard catfish and described it as absolutely delicious! Chrispy, light crust and delicate, while flaky fish. The desserts were sinfully delightful, too! We will return again before we head back to Denver this week!
We are in Palm Springs to celebrate our anniversary and was looking for a restaurant to celebrate the “eve” of our celebration. We loved the El Paseo area and thought we would give Pacifica a shot... well, it didn’t disappoint!
We sat outside under the lights, had a fabulous meal and exceptional service. The seafood platter was amazing (we shared it as our dinner), the ahi tuna is a must and grandma definitely knows how to make molten lava chocolate cake (enough for three to share).
I highly recommend Pacifica and will definitely return in the future. Thank you for a fabulous evening!
The experience was good, both food and service but should have been better. The down note was the server range up one of our entrees at $2.00 higher than on the menu. It is always a surprise that what comes out on the ticket from the cash register does not match the menu. Is that the server's fault our the restaurant's?
Lovely lunch with good friends on an unusually cool day in the desert. Our hostess sat us on the patio under a "tent" with our own heater so we could enjoy the view. The food was delicious and the portions generous for lunch. I had their signature cocktail which I believe was called Pacific Breeze and it was light and very tasty. Our wait person was very friendly and helpful without being overbearing. We will definitely be back!
Whenever we're in the desert we try our best to visit Pacifica. Everything about our dinner there was super. I had the sea bass - prepared perfectly. Something new on the menu is the availability of half-portions for almost every entree. I had the half-portion which was just right for me. My husband had a new item on the menu: scallops, shrimp, and sun-dried tomatoes with octopus ink pasta - what a great combination of flavors. I should mention another treat on Tuesdays at Pacifica - all wine bottles are 1/2 price. That encouraged us to order a more expensive wine than we normally would have. The Spottswoode Sauvignon Blanc was a perfect accompaniment to a very special dinner. Also, the service was fantastic as usual.
We come to Palm Desert every winter and have always like Pacifica. However this time we found a noticeable decline in the quality and presentation of the food. My wife is glutten and dairy free and ordered the scllops. She was brought 2 scallops and a few cauliflower pieces that were cold. Towards the end of the meal they brought her some brussel sprouts, after complaining. We wont be coming back.
We went to Pacifica on New Years eve as a party of six. We chose this restaurant because of the fabulous seafood menu. We were very excited to try many of the dishes. It was a bit of a disappointment to find out that it was a price fix menu for NYE as we were counting on the full menu. We were NOT advised at anytime that the menu would be limited to a select few items. As well, our reservation was for 7:30 and we were told upon our arrival that they were closing at 9:30 pm. We were not advised if this either. While the service we had (Eduardo) was exceptional, her is really good....we felt rushed and not happy with all of our dinners. Perhaps in future NYE or special nights, OPEN table could advise its patrons of this type of information. We would have saved Pacifica for a different day. too bad
We picked Pacifica for New Years Eve dinner because there was no prix fix menu listed on the website and we could get in. Well, now I know why it was easy to get into. There was a $65 fixed price menu with salad/soup, entrée and dessert. I have eaten at Pacifica many times in the past and couldn't believe they would charge $65 for a small salad, what is usually their 1/2 portion sized entrée and subpar dessert. I had 4 small slices of tuna, 3 asparagus spears and 4 carrots on my plate. There was not 4 ounces of meat on the plate, which means I paid around $40 for what probably cost them $8 at the most.
We won't be going back unfortunately. I can't support a restaurant that takes advantage of people just because it's a day on the calendar.
