Pacifica Del Mar Ratings and Reviews
I was glad we made reservations as the place was quite busy on a Friday night. The service/server was un-attentive and a bit overwhelmed. Drink glasses were empty and we had to flag her down for a refill. Ordered a starter salad and it never arrived. The presentation of the food was thoughtfully prepared and tasted good. You could tell that they were lacking in waitstaff and/or chefs. It was busy and very noisy. We wanted to pay our bill with a gift card and the remainder in cash. That was a FIASCO!! Once again, un-attentive...
It was very easy setting up an appointment through Open Table. There was ample parking underneath that will be validated on your way out. After being seated, we watched the sun set over the ocean through the clouds. The three of us, (my mom, wife and I) truly enjoyed the ambiance for Valentine's Day. The food and wait staff were outstanding. And, there was a great selection on the menu. Of course, they had a wide variety of wine and other delectable beverages to choose from. I've been here many times and have enjoyed my experience each of those times. Highly recommended.
I have eaten in the restaurant many times and have never been disappointed until I brought some friends here for brunch on Sunday. This time things were very different! Our reservation was for Sunday brunch right at 11:00 when the restaurant opened so the server and chef should have been fresh and ready to go but not true! Our service was just terrible! One example was that one of the people in our party ordered the bagel and lox and had to wait at least 10 minutes to get the cream cheese that came in a tub that looked it was from a fast food restaurant! We wanted refills on drinks that took forever to come. I should also say that we waited a very long time for our food. The waitress told us it was coming right out when we were finally able to get her attention and the food took another 15 minutes to come out! The bagel that came with the lox looked like a lenders frozen bagel! The french toast was very mediocre to say the least. I had the vege omelet. The had 2 big globs of goat cheese and a little bit of spinach and mushrooms plus it was luke warm.
I have to say that after all the wonderful meals I have had at this restaurant, this meal has left a very bad taste in my mouth and will think twice about returning.
My husband and I had a number of events to celebrate, so we chose Pacifica Del Mar. We had dined there before and enjoyed everything about it, but this time all was beyond expectations. We had a salmon salad and an ahi tuna salad--both were superb, full of interesting textures and flavors. Rachel warmly greeted us and Joshua was our server. We felt like royalty.
It took a very long time to get service on Friday afternoon. Several people came by a few times and asked the same question which was, "Have you been helped?" Then they would walk away. A tad bit comical. The food was excellent once we were able to get into their rotation for service.
First time dining at Pacifica Del Mar and we so enjoyed! Crisp martinis, fresh oysters, huge tender shrimp, flavorful mulligatawny chicken curry wild rice soup, fresh mussels, blackened salmon with perfect wine pairing. We were extremely satisfied and look forward to dining at Pacifica Del Mar the next time we are in town.
We go every year for our wedding anniversary.
This time? It was our 19th.
The food was terrible. We ordered hamachi ( unbeatable) old fish.
Then the cod and the shrimp & greets. Don’t even get me started.
We never complain but because we couldn’t eat our meal they took it of of the bill.
We will keep going every year, but just because it’s our “thing”, but will go just for drinks.
This use to be one of my favorite places. Now the atmosphere is sad. Nobody around. Food was nothing special, did not need a reservation. Service not very good. We asked for cookies and the waiter told us they did not have any. We had to point them out on the menu. Sad to see one of your old favorites not be a favorite any longer. I will probably never go back.
This was my first visit to Pacifica. While I enjoyed the meal, I can't think of anything particularly memorable or excellent to mention about our dining experience. Our waiter was friendly, the wine was fine, the mahi mahi was fine. Nothing to complain about...just nothing to rave about either.
