   I had the halibut and it’s was fabulous! The taste was to die for, texture was light and flaky. I love the combination of the fish with the sticky rice, curry and coconut! Service was perfect! Martinis have enticing ice flakes floating on top, sensational!

   There was a private party taking up most of the restaurant. I didn’t understand that , not having been there before. Food was terrible. My husband s crab cake was burnt. My hamachi appetizer was so tiny. Not whole slices, but little slivers. Entrees we’re just ok. Wouldn’t return.

   My dinner was very disappointing. I ordered short ribs which, in the past, have always been delicious. Last night the short ribs were less than tasteful and, for the price charged, were not worth it. I did not pay for the dinner - I was the guest of a friend who paid for what was my birthday dinner. The wine and desserts were excellent. The staff and service was excellent.

    I was surprised that they only had a limited menu on Mother’s Day. I came for seafood and they had breakfast. Service was not attentive and the drink I ordered was horrible. They said they would take it off but instead they charged me $30 for a 15 dollar cocktail my wife had. I tipped 20% anyway for a 150.00 breakfast :( Our view and seating were fabulous and they even set us a bit early.

    Pacifica Del Mar holds a special place in our lives. My wife and I met there and it’s our daughter’s first choice when she comes into town. The food last night was quite disappointing; dry and tasteless. Not sure what’s changed since our last visit, but it was not an enjoyable dining experience.

    I opted to celebrated Mothers Day on Saturday to avoid crowds etc. Pacifica has always been my go to place and it’s never let me down. But Saturday was a disaster. The staff was not very nice the waiters were impatient and not very accommodating, it took forever to get drinks let alone get food and the food arrived cold. My mothers salmon dish had burnt veggies. To add to the disappointment the parking situation was chaos due to a private party overall it was not a pleasant experience and I am not happy to have dropped $9 on parking and over $100 on cold food. And the place overall looked rundown. I won’t be returning after 20 years of patronage.

    Outstanding and very reasonably price wine menu - focused on West coast wines. We are wine lovers with extensive cellars. Sommelier came by our table and spent time with us discussing wines, selections, etc. Warm, fresh sourdough bread. Extra virgin olive oil and aged balsamic vinegar. Small but diverse menu - it’s seafood restaurant it does offer good meat selections. Only one vegan main dish but salads and vegetables can substitute. Can go small plates or full dinner. Started with fresh calamari accompanied y Daou rose’. Calamari was lighted breaded and done to perfection- not over cooked and not oily - nicely crisp. Served with remoulade sauce that was light and tangy and a soy and ginger sauce that was not salty - well balanced. We all remarked how wonderful both sauces were prepared. Two of us had the crab cakes - fresh crab meat, little bonding - just enough to hold meat together. Moist and well seasoned. It’s a small plate selection but really big and filling. Rest of party had swordfish (1), halibut (2), clam chowder. We all gave the food very high praises. Service was attentive, caring, efficient. We were a party of 6 who came in late and closed restaurant down but we’re never rushed. Wonderful service. This is 3rd time I’ve been to Pacifica and if has never disappointed. Can’t wait to go back.

    We went to celebrate an early Mother’s Day. The view is fabulous,the server and food were fabulous, but there was a table who just let their kids scream the whole time so that was really annoying.

    Spider webs spider webs and more spider webs. We moved from one table with a huge web at my elbow., to another that had webs lit up by the accents lights, which we noticed after sitting for a moment. I wonder how many more there were that weren’t lit up. When a bus boy fanned a new table cloth for the neighboring table , so much dust flew out of one of the spider web lights next to our table , some of it had to settle on ours. I’m glad my wife didn’t notice or she would have made us leave. Makes you wonder about the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. We’ve eaten there so often and never experienced it before. We haven’t been there since preCovid. I wonder if management figures since it’s popular they don’t need to pay attention. All that I’ve written and nothing about the food which was good. Too bad though , we may not return.

    I have over 100 nights a year out to dinner and I rarely even remember a meal. Last night’s was an exception - my dinner was fantastic. Seriously, try the halibut with coconut rice curry. Thanks Pacifica - I will DEFINITELY be back

    The food was very good. It was extremely loud. There were many large parties celebrating which is nice but the noise level made it difficult to visit with people at my table. We enjoyed sunset at dinner and the cocktails were good.

    We were very disappointed with Pacifica Del Mar last evening. It used to be one of our favorites. My caesar salad was good but was lacking croutons which come with every caesar salad I have ever had and was on the menu. My husband ordered the halibut and received swordfish. The service was so slow he did not complain because we were concerned that correcting his order would take too much time. My filet was very chewy and not worth the price. These are the reasons we will not be returning.

    Out of popular items by 7pm on Sat evening. Food was inedible. Ended up not even my entree it was that bad (simply grilled salmon that on the first try came out over cooked and so salty it was like eating straight salt, second time came out super burned/black and totally inedible as well). The sides were bad as well, lightly steamed veggies that I requested sautéed and well done but came out simply steamed and half raw. Other sides of Brussels were just half raw and sweet, spinach was meh, green beans too salty. My husband’s Ahi dinner was just ok. Waiter was comically indifferent, absent, and just couldn’t care less. On the plus side, the bartenders were great and the margaritas were perfect. At the end of the night, one of the busboys who saw the evening unfold actually came up and apologized to us that it was so bad. My husband ended up talking to the manager, who he said was very nice and appropriate and ended up taking my food off the bill. Needless to say, we won’t be returning unless they get a new chef.

    Honestly, better than I was expecting. My fish main (swordfish) was very slightly over, but the sauces were outstanding and the dish quite delicious. My mixed green salad was fine, but quite basic. My wife's beet salad was good (could use a touch of acid) and her mussels were good too and generous for a "small" plate. The bread is very much worth buying at $3. The free burnt cream at the end (it was my birthday) was great. Otherwise, a bit noisy, but not bad. Great ocean view. Service was good for the price.

    Joshua was an outstanding server.... one of the best. It's hard to rate for value as we only had hors deuvres and salad (or soup) and bill was $200 for 4. We didn't have an entree. But all was delicious. It would be nice if a better selection of craft beer was available. I realize they cannot have draft beer, but Sculpin is not the only good IPA.
