Had an excellent time with my wife on Valentines here. It was me and my wifes first time coming. Food took a little long to come out but when it did it was amazing. Ambiance is totally romantic yet eclectic.

The service was very good and the employees were very friendly. Our drinks were refreshing and aesthetically pleasing. The chicken from our entrees tasted very rubbery and felt like it had been microwaved. This was a turn off for me.
Weird vibe. Attached to a hotel. Felt like you’re in an airport with people rolling through with their luggage. Food sucked. Martini sucked. Super friendly staff though.

Service was awful, seared tuna was grossly overcooked, asked for heater to be turned on several times and no one took the time to actually do it, overall amateur hour.
Came here for Happy Hour and while it wasn't bad, nothing really stood out. They were really skimpy on the food items - the cheese and charcuterie "boards" were literally 2 pieces of toast each + 5 EXTREMELY thin slices of salami and a single cheese slice. Sure, they were 5 bucks but come on. The fried fish was ok. The fries were good. Cocktail and Beer selection was ok.
Service was minimal but fine for sitting at the bar.
Wouldn't come back here again though.
Although this restaurant opened with some EATER hype. We found it be functionally as a restaurant for the guests of the hotel. The menu was simple and limited, and the place with two large patios and large dining room was empty at 6 PM. The only people eating there appeared to be guests at the attached Hilton Garden Inn. So it was disappointing. In addition, parking is not ideal. It is in a busy place downtown, so best option was the 8$ valet at the hotel. That was a discount from the usual $15 visitor parking cost (AND $40 OVERNIGHT GUEST PARKING). Beautiful hotel and restaurant just not made the big time.
Have always liked this place, but this visit was less than stellar. Our server seemed totally out of it. He didn't know the fresh catch or even it's price. He was remarkably absent most of the evening.
Food was good, although the menu needs expanding and refreshing.
Ambiance is really lacking and was not helped by having to pass unbussed tables in a mostly-empty restaurant on the way to our table.
We've really hoped this place would succeed and be a great addition to the SD food scene, but it appears they are on their way to being just another restaurant located in a hotel.
We always enjoy Pacific Standard. The menu isn't terribly extensive but we always find something good. The dining room and bar are together but the noise level tends to be very reasonable. Nice place for a good meal.
Fantastic service and great ambiance.
The roasted beet appetizer was about the best beet salad we have ever had! I had the salmon bowl, husband had steak. Everything was perfectly cooked and taste was superb. The salmon bowl is chock full of healthy stuff like quinoa and wheat berries! Waiter was a little bit confused in the beginning and not very helpful when we asked questions about menu items, but he was nonetheless very attentive. Highly recommend this place!
We had Mother's Day brunch here. They had a great breakfast buffet, along with a great selection of menu items. Check in on Yelp and get 10% off.
Appetizers were very good, we unfortunately had very spotty service throughout the meal. Long lapses in time without seeing a server. Great atmosphere, beautiful restaurant. Overall meal was very good.
They tried to create good food. Fish over cooked.

Ate at the bar with girlfriends, celebrating a birthday. Service was horrible to just get our drink order in. Food was generally good, though. I highly recommend the short rib grilled cheese, which was delicious. My only complaint is that we received ours with just pickles on the side, but we saw another patron get theirs with fries on the side. Other dishes were average.

The service & cocktails were the only thing that was impressive. I'm in the restaurant industry work with restaurants all over the city. I found their menu was just boring and for lack of a better word, "standard". Was expecting much more exciting and unique choices due to reviews read on other social networks. We left after our appetizer, had dinner at fantastic spot down the road.
One thing that's annoying happened with Open Table, it kept us logged in as eating at Pacific Standard & wouldn't allow me to make a rsvp at another restaurant after we left. Is there a time minimum we have to stay there before being able to select another place? We were only there 30 min.
This place was a bit deceiving. We got there and all they had was a buffet that ended at 10. Our reservation was at 10. The waiters seemed confused as to what yo offer. The servers were awesome though.

The food is mediocre. The service is very poor. Value is kind of pricey for the food. There is nothing special about this place and it's very loud. The restaurant I tried to make reservation doesn’t have the specific time I wanted, so we end up at this place. I will never go back again!

Our second time there. The service is very good knowledgeable servers and the food excellent. The decor and style is cold and not inviting it feels like a hotel lobby.
Because of the cold decor I may not return it puts a damper on the meal. I want this restaurant t to succeed but they need to do something to make it more comfortable.
Sent the mussels back. They were not good. Haven't had to do that in about 10 years. Hopefully just a bad batch. Replacement fish n chips were okay. Restaurant was practically empty. Definitely did not need open table for a reservation.
2nd time here. Enjoyed the first time better. Hostess did not acknowledge our OpenTable reservation. Waiter was slow to take order. Very loud (several large parties). Last time we were given a complimentary 2 piece appetizer by the chef - not this time, though we had to wait for our order, be served our drinks, and then served our meals. Short-rib was too salty, and the accompanying portion of parsnip purée was on the small side. Dessert was excellent.

The good was excellent, but the service was horrible. We had to remind the waitstaff to bring us our salad and had to search down the waiter for our check. It wasn't that busy, so I'm not sure what their problem was.
Went in to eat and placed the order. Server brought out one dish when two were ordered. Then came back 5 minutes later and said other entree wasn't put in. Restaurant was very slow so I didn't see a legitimate reason as to why or how that could happen. Very unprofessional atmosphere. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.
When friends were visiting from Portland, OR. last weekend, we decided to check out Pacific Standard after seeing all the great reviews on Yelp. Overall it was outstanding!!
The location isn't ideal - it's in a chain hotel on a busy corner of Pacific Hwy. It looks nice from outside, but we all agreed it looked like a typical hotel restaurant on the inside (sports tvs and somewhat generic, uninspired interior). Fortunately that was the only negative we had that night! I'll try the patio when weather is warmer.
We were tended to by the outstanding GM, Matt. He was so great - made recommendations on both food and wine (when the server was elsewhere) and even brought Chef Giselle out to meet us. We adored her - her personality shines every bit as bright as her delicious menu.
The food is AMAZING. We tried the shrimp toast, chicken liver mousse, brussel sprouts, roasted chicken, lamb ragu, short rib, and steak frites. It was all to die for. I can't forget how tasty it all was! And since it was a special occasion they even brought us an amazing candy bar crunch dessert that we hoovered down at top speed.
I'm absolutely looking forward to going back very soon! Thank you Chef Giselle for adding a great restaurant to our blossoming epicurean culture. We're very happy to have you back in San Diego...and preparing amazing food for lucky us!
The food was great but service was slow and they were not busy (over an hour to get our food). I ordered the scallops and although they tasted very good, there were only 3 of them (large but half the height of typical scallops), 3 croutons and a sauce for $27. Others in our party had significantly more food. Mine seemed more like an appetizer than an entree. They need to be quite a bit more generous at that price.
The place looks generic but the food is something special. Fried potatoes with omelette was great.
The chef is amazing, very good staff, easy parking, nice atmosphere.
Best crab cakes "ever" everything we ate required a yum! Presentations were eye appealing and done by someone knowing arty food tastes better.
Chanel #1 knew her stuff. My only thought would be to soften up the decor to go with the wonderful cuisine.

The happy hour was great .... our bartender was a lot of fun and let us try drinks.... but the dinner was just ok ... service slow and didn't think our food was exciting
This place is great. The staff was super friendly. Food was good. Bloody Mary was delicious
