We are the third generation of Chinese cooks who have immigrated from China, to Taiwan, to Texas. Pacific Rim is our fifth family-run restaurant business. What can we say? We love to cook. No matter where we live, cooking is just an expression of who we are. We have been in business in Amarillo, for the past 35 years. We prefer to make and cook almost everything that we sell. We strive to bring the best quality to you. From cutting our own meat to making our own sauces from fresh ingredients, we try to make as much homemade as possible. We love Texas and that's why is we have stayed. My siblings and I were raised here and now our children live here. We are both Chinese and Texans, which causes your kitchen confusion. We have adopted the Panhandle Spirit by selling more than just Chinese dishes. We use ingredients that are readily available to us, items that sell. This means that our food doesn't look like the traditional Chinese dishes of our parents. We have blended our family recipes' with our Texas community to make something new. We know that there will always be people who are disappointed that our food isn't put into a little cute pagoda boxes. In Texas, bigger is better! Which is why our food is served in a large Styrofoam container. Chopsticks are always available, even if a fork is set out on the table.
