Pacific Grill Ratings and Reviews
I would recommend it with some reservations on some of the menu items.
My husband's dish with steel head trout was very good. I had the steamers and they were really lacking in flavor. They were very bland. I would not order this dish again. The specialized drink menu was a bust as it turns out we were at the end of the time period before the menu was being switched so the wine and the cocktail we originally picked were both out. Overall it was OK. The dessert menu was not impressive to my taste. It seemed like almost everything had nuts except one ice cream or sorbet item. For the size of the dessert menu I didn't see one thing worth spending the calories on. I'm sure I'm pickier than most on desserts.
We chose this restaurant due to the location and yelp photos. When we walked in for our 8:30 reservation, we were told it was 'happy hour' and seated at a table by the window. The window seating was nice, but there was no tablecloth on the table, the tabletop was laminate, and it seemed rather informal compared to the photos online. I asked to be seated near the back where it looked like the ambience was nicer, but they were closing down the other seating and wanted us to stay up front. When our server came over she asked for my 19 year old niece's photo ID after she ordered water. We were told we could not sit 'in the bar'.... This was a fairly large area by the front window with tables and chairs, it didn't look like a bar area. Anyway, that was awkward, so we were moved to the other area that we previously had requested, fine. The food service was very rushed afterwards. Ordered oysters, salad and entrees. Food was average at best. Disappointing.
Nice place, a little dark. My avocado eggs Bennie was not very warm, tiny English muffins- nothing special, especially for cost- but my husbands hash was good and my friend's chilichiles was as well. So hit and miss. For the cost should be all around excellent. We did enjoy the bottomless Mimosas :) I'd give it a try again.
Nice atmosphere and great location but way over priced. Oysters were minuscule, main dish was over salty. Was hoping for seafood, but limited menu. Pork chops were overlooked. Potato soup was delicious but was exorbitantly priced at $9.95. Was planning on purchasing a bottle of wine but there were no selections under $60. We enjoyed wine by the glass and had a very nice Pinot.
Our server did nothing to make our experience warm or special and did not offer service as would be expected for the prices on the menu. I would not recommend Pacific Grill.
Our waitress was really great. Everything was, actually, until we headed out and stopped by the bar for a glass of sipping tequila. The 'tender was surly and when we tried to have a little fun banter with him he said, "...and I have the right to refuse service as well". It was completely uncalled for and put a real sour taste to an otherwise wonderful night.
The service is excellent and the menu is diverse. Food is delicious and portions are filling. On the expensive side, but a memorable experience for a special date night. A 15 minute walk to the Pantages. Another great bonus. You can walk off your dinner and catch a great show. Loved it!!
after making reservations and ask for a table in the back away from the noise of the bar area , when we arrived the host insisted we took the table by the window next to the bar, when I reminder her of my request . She acted annoyed and made us wait for 15 minutes while she kept sitting people that were arriving with out reservation . When I went and stood in front of her desk she finally gave us a table. The two ittems from the menu that we order were not longer available, our second choices were swimming on fat. The waitres was pleasent and attentive and we did finally get a quiet table in the back . But over all no worth the drive from Vashon .
Went here for my Mom's 40th Birthday on Sunday and the food was AMAZING! We all had something different and paired it with either bottomless Mimosas or Bloody Mary's. The mimosas were fresh and delicious, and my mom and friend said the Bloody Mary was easily the best one they have ever had. We got Steak and Eggs, Avocado and Salmon Toast, Shrimp and Grits, Tortilla Mexican Breakfast Hash, and Mimosa Monkey Bread, and between everyone exchanging bites, we were all impressed with everything! We also started with the Tempura Bacon, but how to you go wrong with breaded and deep friend bacon?! The only complaint I have is that we told them it was my mom's birthday when we sat down, but they didn't do anything for her or even mention it, and my friend asked for a dinner menu to look at their options for future visits, and they never brought it. Other than that, it was a wonderful experience and the Boozy Brunch is a must have experience. We will be back! Don't wait, go to Pacific Grill as soon as you can, it is so worth it!
All-day happy hour is a great deal. Seating in front with outdoor light from view windows is nice, and you can order off happy-hour items (half-price) as well as dining room menu. My smoked salmon canapes were prepared with all the goodies I like, and the spice cake with vanilla ice-cream made a great ending to the meal. Coffee was bold and flavorful too. Definite go-to place in Tacoma.
Love this place!!! Brought my sister from Florida to have a great dinner after a long day of traveling. K8 was great and took care of our every needs paying close attention to detail without disturbing our conversation. Our waters were always full and she checked back to make sure our cocktails and wine were perfect and also kept full! We started with the Cheese Toast which was perfectly seasoned and melted to perfection. My sister had the New York with cheesy mashed potatoes and mushrooms (she doesn't even like mushrooms and she ate them all)!!! I had the Cauliflower Steak which was also AMAZING and a great vegetarian option for an entree! After dinner we moved over to the bar where Matthew took great care of us as well!!! His flair and genuine service was a perfect ending to our night! Thank you Pacific Grill for making us feel special! :)
Everything was good. Our waiter was nice...food was good. Table was ready but the hostess did not acknowledge me upon entering.....kind of odd as a 51 yr old man being ignored by what looked to be a teenager. She was occupied with the computer but not on the phone...I stated that I would like to check in on my reservation and she said "one moment" and finished what she was doing. I stated that I was 30 min early and just wanted to check in and wait in the bar. She turned to a youger hostess and said table 22 without once looking up. Not a good start for a place that I normally enjoy. Probably wont be back as I can go to Asado or Over the Moon and not have that happen.
The service was a bit off their normally exceptional service. My soup came without a spoon and it took me more than a few minutes to wave down the waitress. My client asked if they had hot tea and when she was told yes ordered it, but had iced tea served to her. Everyone can have an off day - I will go again and I am sure it will be better.
