Pacific Catch - Sunset District Ratings and Reviews
My wife asked to make a reservation here for Valentine’s Day. Normally the food is reliably good. Unfortunately the cook put so much sauce on the Baja shrimp tacos they were inedible. The waitress removed that from our bill, which was a nice gesture and the right thing to do.
Jessie, our waiter, was terrific- great service. He chose the bass for my mother, which she loved. My parents loved the crab and coconut shrimp as well. I had a terrific blood orange margarita. The Thai curry bowl was great, although a little spicy.
Good food, well priced, and well received.
I sat at the bar and Anthony was my bartender.
Ordered a specialty Mojito which was very good with kumquat. Ordered Korean Sticky Ribs which is my favorite. Delicious! Then ordered a regular Mojito which sure beats the one at Scott’s Oakland.
Then I found out I left my purse at my last location. No cash. No credit card. Anthony was gracious enough to let me call in my credit card when I got it back. I did call it in. Anthony is the Best!
Pacific Catch used to be a reliable restaurant, but that evening, the service, the cocktails, and the food were all very disappointing. It took 20 minutes for the waiter to bring us our drinks, in spite of his constant assurances they were coming. When our appetizers finally arrived, we were told the restaurant was "very busy," although there were empty tables all around us. When we asked for water, one glass came to our table cracked. We informed the manager, and she told us she would address our problems with her staff. To her credit, she took $30 off our tab. I am now reluctant to return to Pacific Catch——we were entertaining an out-of-town guest, and the experience that night was an embarrassment.
Solidly average seafood joint. The food is mostly just OK. Nothing special about it. Good cocktails. Our server was nice but maybe had too many tables? We had to wait a fairly long time to order and then didn't see her again until we got the check. It's an OK neighborhood place but don't make a special trip.
The day we went with th family , there was a huge problem with taking our order then we saw our order sitting up there for over 15 minutes and when we found someone to talk to said that our order has been up there in the lights and our waiter was nowwhere to be found😜. It will be a very long time till I get back there!
Delicious food, but small portion sizes for the price. We had the crab cake appetizer ($14 for 2), fish & shrimp tacos, and the clean salmon bowl. We also had a pitcher of the mai tai ($42, small pitcher), expensive but very strong. Overall, we were full and very happy with the taste of everything! Service was great, too. Would definitely go back, but most likely for the happy hour specials!
The food is awesome. It was very busy. The service was slow. We also had two different waiters so we were sure who was taking care of us. We were placed in. A odd shape table. Very weird setting where we couldn’t talk to some of the people at the table. Overall it was just confusing service. But the food were very good.
We enjoyed our dinner at Pacific Catch. We had a nice table in the bar area, which was actually quieter than the dining room, because the bar wasn't crowded. Our server was friendly and attentive. After she informed us that one of the items ordered was unavailable, a manager stopped by the table to discuss what other items were available. He checked back with us after the food was served to ask how everything was.
Read some great reviews regarding the poke here. Traveled over to the Sunset to eat here. The poke was fair but too much sauce to the point we couldn't taste the fish. The appetizers were good and the children's meal was good value. The dessert - a fried egg roll stuffed with sweet cheese and vanilla ice cream was the highlight of the experience. I'm still in search of great poke in the City.
Bad food, fries barely cooked and nearly raw. Ordered 2 lobster roll, told 20 minutes later they were out, had to wait almost an hour overall. check they didn’t remove the lobster roll from paycheck and it added nearly 50 dollars!. Very unprofessional, wouldn’t not recommend
We ate there for lunch and arrived early. Great food & service. Loved their different style tacos and the fact that you can order different one for the 2 or 3 taco entrees. Nice flavored ice tea. The crispy brussel sprouts are delicious! Popular place and now we know why!
Went to Pacific Catch for my wife’s Birthday dinner. I had the sole and crab special and my wife had a salad with salmon. The sole crab special was very tasty but I found the portion on the smaller size. My wife enjoyed her salad but the piece of salmon was also very small. We have been to Pacific Catch before and noticed to portions to be much smaller however the prices have remained about the same.
Pacific Catch always provides a variety of interesting, well-prepared seafood options. I typically enjoy a cocktail prior to the meal, and they offer a traditional and creative options for that as well. Sometimes, when they are busy, the wait staff seems a little overwhelmed and our service might get staggered oddly: for example, I received my wine and soup before my martini during my last visit. It appeared that the waiter was covering too many tables, but it may have been that the bartender was backed up. Ultimately, the bartender brought my martini himself. However, food and drink were excellent.
Pacific Catch is a reliable option for Hawaii-inspired cuisine in the Inner Sunset neighborhood. Good food, lots of fish options, albeit a little rich (coconut shrimp is delicious but three shrimp are enough, believe me). The lobster bisque needs to be served hotter. Otherwise no complaints. Service was acceptable. They ran out of my wine selection so they gave the more expensive option for the same price, which is nice. The only downside is that this is a family restaurant so you will run into screaming kids and messy tables most of the time. Plan to return next time I'm in the neighborhood and try to sit at the bar instead.
