Pacific Catch - Sunset District Ratings and Reviews
The food is awesome. It was very busy. The service was slow. We also had two different waiters so we were sure who was taking care of us. We were placed in. A odd shape table. Very weird setting where we couldn’t talk to some of the people at the table. Overall it was just confusing service. But the food were very good.
We enjoyed our dinner at Pacific Catch. We had a nice table in the bar area, which was actually quieter than the dining room, because the bar wasn't crowded. Our server was friendly and attentive. After she informed us that one of the items ordered was unavailable, a manager stopped by the table to discuss what other items were available. He checked back with us after the food was served to ask how everything was.
Read some great reviews regarding the poke here. Traveled over to the Sunset to eat here. The poke was fair but too much sauce to the point we couldn't taste the fish. The appetizers were good and the children's meal was good value. The dessert - a fried egg roll stuffed with sweet cheese and vanilla ice cream was the highlight of the experience. I'm still in search of great poke in the City.
Bad food, fries barely cooked and nearly raw. Ordered 2 lobster roll, told 20 minutes later they were out, had to wait almost an hour overall. check they didn’t remove the lobster roll from paycheck and it added nearly 50 dollars!. Very unprofessional, wouldn’t not recommend
We ate there for lunch and arrived early. Great food & service. Loved their different style tacos and the fact that you can order different one for the 2 or 3 taco entrees. Nice flavored ice tea. The crispy brussel sprouts are delicious! Popular place and now we know why!
Went to Pacific Catch for my wife’s Birthday dinner. I had the sole and crab special and my wife had a salad with salmon. The sole crab special was very tasty but I found the portion on the smaller size. My wife enjoyed her salad but the piece of salmon was also very small. We have been to Pacific Catch before and noticed to portions to be much smaller however the prices have remained about the same.
Pacific Catch always provides a variety of interesting, well-prepared seafood options. I typically enjoy a cocktail prior to the meal, and they offer a traditional and creative options for that as well. Sometimes, when they are busy, the wait staff seems a little overwhelmed and our service might get staggered oddly: for example, I received my wine and soup before my martini during my last visit. It appeared that the waiter was covering too many tables, but it may have been that the bartender was backed up. Ultimately, the bartender brought my martini himself. However, food and drink were excellent.
Pacific Catch is a reliable option for Hawaii-inspired cuisine in the Inner Sunset neighborhood. Good food, lots of fish options, albeit a little rich (coconut shrimp is delicious but three shrimp are enough, believe me). The lobster bisque needs to be served hotter. Otherwise no complaints. Service was acceptable. They ran out of my wine selection so they gave the more expensive option for the same price, which is nice. The only downside is that this is a family restaurant so you will run into screaming kids and messy tables most of the time. Plan to return next time I'm in the neighborhood and try to sit at the bar instead.
The drinks and food were very good. The one not so good I have is on service. I made reservations for 8:15 but we arrived 1/2 hour early. They gave us a pager and we sat at the bar for a drink. An hour later when the pager still hadn't gone off we asked the host about timing and found out they forgot about us and could seat us immediately. I originally found it odd that it was taking so long because there were a lot of empty tables. It wouldn't have been so bad but I hadn't eaten anything all day and we were on vacation with a group and they were all waiting to meet up with us after dinner.
We are regulars and we normally order the wasabi bowl. This recent visit was diasappointing because:
- the rice was not seasoned and missing the avocado in the wasabi bowl
- the hawaiian bowl lacked flavor
- the pineapple lemonade really had no pineapple flavor
The highlight was the boston creme malasadas and crab cakes.
