Portions are too small
My friend was visiting from Germany and wanted to have some nice broiled salmon. She raved about her plate of broiled salmon, mixed greens, and brown rice. She said she could not get such fresh salmon at home because it would be far too expensive. She thought -- and I agreed -- that her plate was a work of art. It wasn't the kind of fussy minimalist composition one might find at a place with microscopic portions but gargantuan prices. It was a generous serving.
She's very slender but she finished everything.
My fish and chips was good but rather ordinary. It came with standard french fries, not steak fries. The tartar sauce and horseradish sauce was excellent and did not overpower the fish. I wouldn't mind getting the horseradish recipe! I really wanted steak fries, and I would have preferred a greater amount by weight. If I'm cheating with fried fish, I'll go to the Kezar Pub nearby.
Next time I'll have the salmon plate that my friend enjoyed.
I recommend this place to anyone who wants a fantastic meal. Stay with their specialties. But if you are looking for a quiet, romantic meal -- and we weren't -- this location was just too noisy. They need an acoustic engineer to fix this. The Walnut Creek location was bustling and even had many large screen TVs with sports on during Happy Hour, but was very pleasant with just enough conversation going on that it felt comfortable and no one had to raise their voices to be heard.
Service was ok - server seemed distracted this evening. Food was very good. Very reliable place, terrific place to go after GGP
The server was so sweet, making our dinner with our grandson very enjoyable.
The sea food was very good. My three taco plate came cold. So annoying. Everyone else was pleased. The Brussel sprouts were yummy. I would order them again.
Good family oriented restaurant
Nice menu and food was good, but we were seated in the side room. It was very hot as the afternoon sun hit directly into it. Mentioned to both the server and the manager about the temperature, they just said that they thought there were some issues with the A/C. Several groups after us were offered seating in this room, which they wisely refused, and were seated in the main area. We had reservations for 5PM, so it wasn’t as it was too busy to reseat us. I would strongly recommend not sitting in the side room, if anyone was to go there. Too many great choices in San Fran to eat to waste it in a sauna!
Yammy Food , and amazing service! Highly recommended!
Birthday celebration for my Mom! She loves their options and sustainable menu
Favorite family dinner restaurant.
Service is always outstanding and food is fresh and tasty.
My friend did not think the california roll was constructed very well; not tightly rolled. Otherwise, the food was good.
Jack, one of the managers was extremely
Helpful in making our occasion even better! Many Thanks to him.
A reservation is a big plus. Immediate seating, and in a fairly quiet area. Seafood and other choices should meet any palate and pocketbook.
Great seafood place that has dishes for every price level. The salmon chowder was a bit overpriced at $9 for a small bowl, but it was tasty. The tacos are yummy and a good deal. The black bean side dish was utterly tasteless, like they were right out of the can.
Great meal and service! Would recommend staff not eat in public area. Otherwise overall exceptional meal!
Service was good, albeit it took too long for our drinks to come. Food was timely but quality poor. Some came barely warm and had to be sent back. Sushi looked like it had just been defrosted. Overall, not a great experience.
I love that Pacific Catch is consistently good and has something for everyone in my family! It is our go to choice for those 2 reasons. Never had a bad meal. I love the bowls and even my picky vegetarian is happy! I also love that they keep the menu fresh and updated. Great service....everyone is very friendly and service is efficient.
This was my first visit. I thought the food was fresh and delicious. I took bites from my 7 guests dishes, lol. The service was prompt and excellent. We were well taken care of by more than just the server. It was pretty clean including the bathroom. We thought the food prices were quite reasonable for the city and for living in wine country. We found lots of parking close by on a Thursday. Plus they are certified sustainable!! #win
Casual place with an extensive selection of seafood dishes. Very interesting preparations. Can get anything from appetizers or fish tacos up to complete meal with two sides.
We attend this restaurant late evening and the kitchen was near to close; however we were able to eat an ordinary dinner, not outstanding but not bad. The poke alone was disapponting,
I found the food too spicy, as did my husband.
Also, it took a long time for our waitress to come to our table and also to get our orders.
The 2 people we were with enjoyed their food a lot.
Mediocre service, mediocre food, and a disappointment overall.
Did not disappoint. Had been there a couple of weeks ago and had the Western Style Salmon bowl - it was amazing. Seven of us ate there Monday night and 5 ordered that salmon bowl at my recommendation. Everyone thought it was amazing. Also we were seated in a smaller room and felt no need to rush off once we were finished eating. Our server was completely charming. It was a special night made more special by this restaurant.
Superb! It's the only way to describe the ambient and food.
Good food. We needed a quick bite near Golden Gate park and they had a large menu. The guacamole with poke was quite good. The beer menu was confusing as it didn’t match what they actually had in stock.
Really great ceviche and poke. Very convenient location next to Golgen Gate Park
Got seated right away but the food came out and had no dinner wear to go with it . Bathrooms out of toiletries . Had to ask for the basics. Like silverware . Different people came out with the food and the waiter Matt got forced behind the eight ball not predicting what we would need. Some of the food tasted off . Drinks were good . Went here so that we could go across street to the event at the botanical gardens . Would not recommend either going on a busy night . Just too scattered for them to handle.
It’s been a few months since the last visit and this time around I was so disappointed with the food changes. The bowls were no longer in a bowl, but instead an oval like platter. The contents weren’t in their typical shredded form and mingled closely together. Instead it was presented more like a typical entree which didn’t allow for all the flavors to blend. I had the usual house salad which I normally love but they stopped using micro greens and didn’t toss the salad. The bowl they put it in was so small that without having it tossed, it’s difficult to eat without it spilling out of the bowl. The prices increased also, but I wouldn’t mind paying the price if all was like in the past.
At least the service was still stellar thanks to Ryan.
I’m not sure I’ll return for a while though as the change was significant enough that I’d rather spend the money somewhere else like the Sunset Reservoir Brewery.
Food is always very good and service good. When the restaurant is crowded it is loud.
the food was good but a bit pricey. otherwise the rest was nice.
Out for Friday night dinner with my wife. Pacific Catch is always a reliable choice
Completely disappointed, haven't been to Pacific catch in a while and I won't be back again. Crab cakes were overcooked and slightly fishy, quinoa and brown rice side wasn't fully cooked, the French fries were undercooked. The bathroom wasn't clean. This restaurant has given up on good food.
My niece and I both enjoyed our healthy meals. Hers was a salad with all sorts of colorful and tasty ingredients. Mine was the grilled yellowtail with broccolini and baby kale and mushrooms. Grilled and cooked to perfection.
Nice host and servers.
Excellent salmon tacos! Terrific service — fast and friendly. Noisy enough inside for families with kids, and quieter on patio for adults only. Reasonably priced for SFO.
This is our third visit to Pacific Catch and there is a reason we keep coming back. The food, the service and the ambiance were very good. Our waiter was very easy going and helped us make our decisions. It was also quiet enough that we could hold a conversation and not have to raise our voices.
Food is always fresh! Great service! Sign up for the rewards to get a comp meal and dessert.
Great fresh fish and creative recipes. Don't be shy try something new!
