food was luke warm (yuk!!) desserts offered were practically "all chocolate" not enough choice.

Generous portions and our waitress was nice and quick. Our food was better than average but not spectacular. A bit pricey but not out of the ordinary for downtown San Mateo. I would recommend Pacific Catch.

Lovely Mother’s Day dinner; excellent cocktails (Spicy Pacific, Dark & Stormy) and fresh, delicious, beautifully presented meal with family. The Mexican Chocolate Creme Brulee is fantastic... Thanks for a memorable Mother’s Day!

Great food, great ambiance, great location. All food is very tasty, waiters are very attentive. The floors are a bit sticky and could use a good steam mop.

Food was ok. We ordered guac and chips for the table and basically it was just mashed avocados with some staled chips...disappointing since it cost $10! The spicy fries were not spicy and that was just fries seasoned with something red to look spicy. Food quality could be better. Service was fine .

I had the BEST SALAD and I would recommend it to everyone:

Asian Chimichurri Salad | Grilled Marinated Tofu (I had a grilled chicken breast instead)
(VEGAN) beet “poke,” roasted cauliflower, avocado, cucumber, tomato, edamame, daikon sprouts, Asian herb chimichurri, miso dressing
Base: mixed organic greens with quinoa

This is by far the best salad I ever had. I will return here again just for the salad. Thank you Pacific Catch, whoever came up with this idea for a salad is a genius. I will see you again and again!

We have been here before and enjoyed it but this time not so much. We made a reservation and they gave us the worst table in the corner even though there were nice seats elsewhere. The server was not very bright, bought us the wrong food, took our menus even though we asked to keep one for later and wasn't around when we needed him. Another server was playing with one of the other servers hair. For what we paid the overall service was not good

The French fries were soggy. The grease in their fryer must have been old or they were undercooked.

Went for a ladies' lunch. Music so loud we asked to be moved, then THAT table had a strange corner configuration whereby someone had to sit with a fat table leg between their legs. NOT a good look, but didn't want to have to move AGAIN. Food was good - nothing special. I had a lobster roll and was pleased with the amount of lobster as well as the correct bun. YUM. It was very good. Fries were also very good. Others' meals were just so-so, which is why the overall food rating was lower. Service was very friendly, however spoons were brought for cake, then we never saw the server again to ask for forks before she brought us the bill, so we ate chocolate cake with spoons. (?) We used one of the cooks' lighters to light candles...why no matches? Anywhere? Does no one have a birthday cake here? Maybe it was just a bad day.

I loved the bowl- some meat, greens and rice or quinoa mixed together was the perfect flavor combination. It was a really satisfying meal and I'll be going back to try more. The salmon was delicious! I was pleasantly surprised when the bill arrived too.

Finally, a place whose chefs know how much salad dressing is the proper amount. Jeez. And it was a delicious dinner entree salad: grilled ahi (rare/medium rare) with beautiful salad greens and this wonderful miso/ginger/wasabi type dressing. So many places over dress the salad, and it becomes almost inedible. This place got it right. No small feat, apparently. I go here fairly often, and am always pleased...surprised it only has 4 stars on Yelp tho.

Pacific Catch has to be one of the stand-out restaurants in the entire Bay area. My date
and I read the menu carefully, but then always end up ordering the same thing we
always do: two fish tacos with a side salad and black beans. Healthy and satisfying!
Try it; you'll like it!

We have been here many times previously. This night was for our anniversary. We were seated immediately and had a nice cheerful waiter. Immediately had still water served. We decided on all “starters” rather than “meals”. It was a fun choice & we got to share. We STILL were stuffed! They brought out each dish separately, which was great. All hot as they should be. We shared a half carafe of Rose wine & it was a very smooth & chilled well. We began with the “guac-a-poke” with chips & lettuce to put it onto. It was fresh, tender and tasty! Next we had HUGE plate of deep fried calamari-done perfectly & a tasty dipping sauce, Next was Coconut shrimp with another sweet type of dipping sauce-3 each and yummy! We finished with the Korean sticky ribs-6 of them! FABULOUS sauce, tender finger licking good ribs! We then had an “on-the-house” treat of 3 Mochi, different flavors, all cut in half to share with chocolate dipping sauce. It was the end of a perfect meal. We brought home a lot of it, as we were REALLY full! Nice to eat early on a Friday and have it all digest easily-lol! We will return again to this location. It’s clean & all the staff is friendly. Thoroughly enjoyable evening! We will return.....

Nice restaurant and great food, maybe a little bit loud but still within a reasonable level. Service was great also. I would recommend it, mainly that the prices of the meals are absolutely fair in comparison to the great quality of the food.

Went for lunch on a Sunday with a party of four. There were plenty of tables open at 11:45, though it started to fill up after noon. The server was attentive but did not rush us to decide on our order, or pressure us to leave when we had finished eating, but hadn’t finished catching up (which is always greatly appreciated from my perspective). We ordered three appetizers to share (Guaca Poke, a mixro ceviche and a yellowtail poke) . All were fresh and enjoyed by everyone, with the Guaca Poke being the favorite , and the yellowtail a close second. A couple of us ordered salads, one with ahi Poke and one vegan, and both were hearty and satisfying as a meal (we ordered the “regular” size). Another ordered fish and chips and one ordered a sushi roll. They have any impressively extensive menu, with something for everyone (and they seem to be able to execute on it, at least on what we ordered). They are also great at accommodating substitutions and their menu explicitly offers it (whether it’s the protein, greens, or rice/grains) — this really made a positive difference for us as we all have particular preferences/requirements. We were all happy with both the food and the service. The simple yet sleek/contemporary ambience enhanced the experience as well. I live in San Francisco but would recommend Pacific Catch to anyone in the San Mateo area, and would like to visit again when in San Mateo (I actually wish they had a place in my neighborhood-I’d be there all the time!).

I had a reservation and still had to wait 20 minutes after my reservation and I went up to the hostess because people who arrived after me were getting seated. The waitress could not really hear our order then a table of people that arrived after us were served first, the guacamole poke was good however they only brought me 7 chips to eat it with and 3 of them were stuck together, finally after 1 hour of waiting we get our shrimp tacos, my sons shrimp were not cooked all the way and he got an allergic reaction from them, my shrimp tacos had no flavor and there was no salt on our table. This was a disappointing evening.

made a reservation, was seated at a table, waited 25 min for nothing - no water, nothing, just menus. other servers waited on tables around us, near us, but didn’t even approach or say hi. i get that it’s busy, but that was absolutely ridiculous. i love coming here with my friends but they really missed the mark when i convinced my boyfriend to try this place yesterday.

Everything was great! The menu was so extensive it was hard to chiose. We opted for ordering several starters to share rather than making a commitment to one big entreé. Everything seemed delicious. The only comment I would give the chef is that Ceviche means its “raw”... so if you are going to cook the seafood you can’t mislead clients. Their “ceviche” is more of a cooked “Cocktail” with a good sauce over it. But that’s not real ceviche.
